Over the weekend, Strikeforce heavyweight Sergei Kharitonov took a boxing match against Filip Hrgovic. The event was held under the World Series of Boxing banner. It seems like someone is trying to use the magical IFL formula for boxing. Kharitonov represented the Baku Fire for the second straight event.
In the fight, Kharitonov does his best to close the distance, but Hrgovic stays on the outside and continually scores. In the end the 18-year-old Croatian took home the decision for Paris United. Hrgovic won a gold medal at the 2010 World Youth Championships and a silver at the 2010 Croatian Senior Nationals.
In Kharitonov’s World Series of Boxing debut, he easily dispatched Awusone Yekeni is the first round.
