Currently TNA just has the one wrestling show IMPACT! on Thursday nights which runs for two hours. Note I don't count Explosion as a show as I believe it only airs in some international markets. There was talk of bringing in a show called TNA Reaction but that has been delayed and not for the first time.
If you were in charge of planning the second show for TNA what would you do? What day would you have the show on, how long would each show be and what format would the show have?
If you asked me this last year I would have automatically said bring on a Knockout's only show. I know that it was suggested by TNA and Spiketv some time previously since the KO's regularly received the highest tv ratings. They had plenty of talented female wrestlers on the roster as well at that stage and so they would have had enough to fill an hour each week. I would have keep it at one hour, had it KO's only and would have had both the KO's title and KO tag team title defended on the show. It really would have gotten those titles over and helped boost the division. That certainly wouldn't work now unless TNA hired more talented female wrestlers.
Instead I would now just prefer a one hour wrestling program, two hours would be a waste at this time. They definately need more than the two hours they currently have with the massive roster TNA has. I would structure this show around what Heat and Velocity used to be. They were clear second shows to the main programs and featured the mid and undercard from those shows. This one hour show would focus on TNA's undercard and midcard. It would have regular defenses of the X-Division, Global Title and even both KO's titles. I think that a show like that would help TNA a lot more since it would build up underused wrestlers and make the overall roster stronger. I would have it air either on a Wednesday night since there is no wrestling on a Wednesday or on Saturday night since that is a wrestling night which isn't used frequently anymore.
What type of second show would you produce for TNA? What format would it have; who would regularly be featured, how long would it be and what day would it be on? Do you think TNA even needs a second show?
