It's very possible, and they were still able to get away with murder.

Indeed it has. Was PG not as strict back then or something? Maybe WWE could do more than they are doing with PG as well, but it so weird at how some stuff they did back in the early days of Smackdown, they don't do on Raw or Smackdown with the same rating.

I mean they got shit from the PTC the second smackdown aired so it was still strict but WWE as a company wasn't PG so they weren't gonna change their product for one show. They could get away with a lot more now and still be PG but they aren't really looking to push that envelope.

It's not now. SmackDown was PG as was WCW and wCW was considered the riske product with the nWo and everything. WWE chooses to water down the product because of Linda's political stuff and their sponsors.

So it's basically like I was thinking where they just don't push it as far as they could. I guess it's why sometimes you get stuff that seems "Edgy." but really isn't, it's just pretty edgy for what we've gotten use to in the last few years.

A lot of trash comes from TV-14 wrestling and you can still have great stuff while being PG you just gotta be more creative which these current writers are most definitely not but the first few PG years where you could argue they were even more "watered down" than now had some solid shit. 09 Smackdown anyone?
