Santino Marella suffered a separated left shoulder following a car accident Thursday night in Toronto.

The official WWE website spoke to Marella this morning about the incident.

"I had just left home and was going to get my hair cut before I began packing for WWE's trip to Puerto Rico," explained Marella. "[My barber] wasn't around, so I just decided to go home."

He was then hit by another vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle remained at the scene of the collision until police arrived, and no foul play is suspected.

"My car flipped sideways and the trunk hit a light pole, it completely crushed in," Marella said. "The airbags deployed, and all I could smell was gunpowder."

Marella's car came to rest near a light pole, and sustained significant damage.

"There was broken glass everywhere, and I tried to open the passenger door, but it was stuck," Marella said. “Luckily, there was still power in the car. I opened the sunroof and crawled out."

He will not be at Raw this Monday

Good that he's ok, and nice to see he didn't pull a Hardy, drugged out of his mind causing a accident.

Good lord looking at the damage he is really lucky to have only gotten a shoulder injury. Glad he is okay for the most part.

Yeah I saw those photos and heard about this unfortunate news early yesterday. I'm glad to know that Santino is doing well from the accident. But that also means no Cobra :(. I hope he gets well soon, so I/we can see him on our telly's again ^_^

Just find it weird that they would report something like this. Makes me wonder if it was just a case of them putting it out there so they can put their slant on the story before most other outlets catch onto it and possibly paint the WWE in a negative light?

Either way, glad he's ok.

I thought about that too when I first seen this and that very well may be the case just based on how the whole Matt Hardy car thing went.

Wait, this was reported by WWE first? They don't go out of their way for this kind of stuff unless it's a storyline.

I don't get the confusion of WWE being the first to report this.

There's no reason to hide this from the public eye, since it is just an accident with no foul play involved. I doubt they'd go this far, pics and all, just to give Santino a storyline. I actually respect they're honesty here.

If they DO turn this into a storyline though, even though Santino wasn't hurt too badly, I'd be quite disgusted.
