Rude won the US title from Sting on November 19th 1991 at Clash of the Champions XVII. He vacated the title due to injury on December 1992.

Benoit won the US title on the August 9th 1999 Nitro from David Flair. He lost the title to Sid Vicious on September 12th 1999 at Fall Brawl. He won his 2nd title from Scott Hall who forfeited the belt due to injury on December 19th 1999 at Starrcade. He lost the title to Jeff Jarrett the next night on Nitro in a Ladder Match. He won his 3rd US title on August 21st 2005 from Orlando Jordan at Summerslam. He lost the title to Booker T on the October 21st 2005 Smackdown. He won his 4th title from Booker T on February 19th 2006 at No Way Out. He lost the title to JBL on April 2nd 2006 at WrestleMania 22. He won his fifth US title from Mr. Kennedy on the October 13th 2006 Smackdown. He lost the title to MVP in a 2/3 Falls Match on May 20th 2007 at Judgment Day.

This would have been my dream final, both did amazing things with the title and were at the peaks of their talents with the championship, but I went with Rude because he made the US Title as important if not more so then the WCW Title during his reign and the run as leader of the Dangerous Alliance was awesome! This is another match I would have loved to have seen.

I went with Rude as well. Did a lot as US champion.

Tough for me as Benoit had some real classics with Booker T and helped get MVP over as a credible champion but Rude was just perfect as champ and he gets the vote here.
