Flair won the US title from Bobo Brazil on July 29th 1977 in Richmond, Virginia. He lost the title to Ricky Steamboat on October 21st 1977 in Charleston, South Carolina. He won the title for a 2nd time from Mr. Wrestling on April 9th 1978 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He lost the title to Steamboat on December 30th 1978 in Greensboro, North Carolina. He won the title back from Steamboat in Greensboro on April 1st 1979. He vacated the title on August 12th 1979 because he won the Tag Titles with Blackjack Mulligan 4 days prior. He won his 4th title from Jimmy Snuka on April 19th 1980 in Greensboro. He lost the title to Roddy Piper on January 21st 1981 in Raleigh, North Carolina. He won his 5th title from Konnan on July 7th 1996 at Bash at The Beach. He vacated the title due to a shoulder injury in September 1996.

Eddie Guerrero

Guerrero won the US title on December 29th 1996 at Starrcade by defeating DDP in a tournament final. He lost the title to Malenko on March 16th 1997 at Uncensored. Guerrero won his 2nd US title by defeating Chris Benoit in a Tournament final on July 27th 2003 at Vengeance to revive the title. He lost the title to The Big Show on October 29th 2003 at No Mercy.

Both had good reigns, and the title did help build them up to main event level, but Flair just had more classic matches, and his reigns came at a time where the title meant much more, at least his early reigins did.

I voted for Ric Flair. Did more as champion during his title reigns than Eddie did.
