When Strikeforce was absorbed through the UFC back in January of 2013, many people believed that a superfight between women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and longtime women's featherweight champion Cristane "Cyborg" Justino would come to fruition. But after failed contract negotiations and Cyborg refusing to come down to 135, Cyborg would eventually request her release from the UFC.

But talk has never abandoned the likes of Ronda Rousey. The loud mouthed UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion has been very vocal of a fight with Cyborg, even going so far as to call her an "it" over Twitter. But it seems like it'll be a while before we'll ever see a fight. Rousey entertained the idea during a media gathering in Los Angeles and discussing the rivalry.

Ronda Rousey said:
I wanted to fight [Cris Cyborg], but the thing is, she’s the one that ran away. They announced out of competition drug testing in the UFC and within 24 hours she asked for her release. Then she started saying that ‘Oh I won’t be able to make 135, because then it will be much harder for me to have kids. Then I was I like ‘you didn’t give a flying fuck’ about how having steroids would have affected her kids, let’s put an over/under on your miscarriages now just based on that. I would never lose sleep at night over Cris Cyborg in any situation. If she wants to come and get her ass beat, she knows where I’m at. She knows where I’m at. But she’s not making any effort to get there.

Cyborg currently fights in Invicta FC where she is undefeated in the promotion. She boasts a professional record of 12-1 and 1 no contest with her most notable victory was defeating Gina Carano in what has been Carano's last appearance inside an MMA cage.

Her lone no contest was overturned by the NSAC after she tested positive for stanozolol - an anabolic steroid.

I can see why she'd be in a disagreement to come down to 135, but seriously, if anybody could ktfo of Ronda - it's Cyborg.

C'mon Cyborg, take the drop and make it happen!

Cyborg needs to drop to 135 in Invicta or something first though, they can't book her vs. Ronda as her first time at 135 and risk her missing weight because it's gonna be a rough cut. She needs a couple of fights there before she can challenge Ronda for the title.

Why not? Next to Ronda she's easily the most dominant female in MMA.

Why not what? Thought I explained everything there...

Pretty sure she'd steamroll pretty much anybody at 135, the only person I could think of that would give her problems is Sara McMann.

Other than that, at this point it doesn't make sense to put her in against anybody other than Ronda.

But, as I said, you can't give her a title shot at 135 when she has never made the weight and has said in the past she can never make the weight. She needs to prove she can make the weight before they put on that fight, which will be huge, and cannot be ruined by her missing weight.

Frankie Edgar and Keith Jardine both dropped weight and were coming off losses.

Yet they were both awarded title shots and never made weight before, not to mention Keith Jardine doesn't look like a natural 185, that point is invalid.

Jardine was because they had no other options and Edgar came together because all other options fell through and it was never a question if he could make featherweight anyway.

Neither of those fights were fights that were years in the making and had the kind of hype Rousey vs. Cyborg has. That fight would be bar none the biggest in women's MMA history and can you imagine if Cyborg misses weight? Especially if she wins, then she beats Ronda but Ronda still has the belt? It could ruin the whole division.

They talked about Aldo vs Edgar two years before it happened, and in DW's case he'd be willing to do so for the payday. It's very clear he's a greedy mother fucker.
