I think he's done more than enough to earn people's respect. Cena seems to have nothing but loyalty and respect (pun very much intended) for the business and is more than happy nowadays to put over younger talent. Also, he's been in a match of the year candidate with AJ Styles - I've fallen back into being a fan.

1st off Loyalty and Respect can't believe you came with that one LMAO!
He put's over younger talent I respect that.........but overall I hate John Cena! I've hated him all these years and I'm not going to stop now. Lol That's like turning my back on something I believe in

I may have become a Cena fan after that match. Cena and Styles both made each other look like a million dollars. Chants at Cena of "you can't wrestle" look a bit silly now IMHO.

If someone is overbooked or comes across as to cheesy they get a bad response form the crowd. A heel turn can pay off big time though for a babyface if done right (Hogan, Rock being 2 big examples).

They teased Cena going heel once or twice.......I was all for it, that may be the only way I can stop hating him.

A lot of more "hardcore" fans do. But the guys is still the face that runs the place and he sells.
Correction-AJ Styles is the Face that runs the place

I think that attitude, especially in pro wrestling, stops progression for anyone once they are household names. What exactly do you hate him for?
He was also forced on us and I don't know about you but I don't like to be forced fed never did never will

Having to watch Cena win all those matches knowing that he should lose during the might as well be Cena era was terrible for a HARDCORE fan such as myself

I will give credit where it is due tho
1.He can wrestle now
2.He sells
3.He is fucking Nikki Bella!
4.Love that he put over Aj styles and younger stars

Now Honestly @SmackChat-Luke with your expert opinion do you think John cena should be anywhere near Ric Flair with the # of title reigns?

Was that sarcasm I detected there kid? Well done you!

No, he shouldn't, however, I'm not passing judgement based on events that happened years ago. My opinion on Cena has changed since he took more of a backseat role and has begun putting over younger talent.

As with any fandom, there's a few loud voices, a lot of followers, and a lot of groupthink... From what I see/hear so many of the loudest voices are like "BOOOOOOOOOO ROMAN SUCKS! ROMAN SUCKS! That'll teach Vince! Look at us booing your handpicked guy! Hear those reactions, they're not getting any better! BOOOO ROMAN"... it's this us vs them war and Roman's caught in the crossfire. Reigns' segments get different reactions in reviews than other peoples.

I tend to think it's due to Rebellion at the Rumble II, and Reigns being "chosen" over Bryan then. That's most peoples' reasoning...

As for this year though, where do you even begin. I'm still convinced this is a very elaborate work, they just aren't doing anything to inspire us to want to cheer for the dude.

I would have replied to Stopspot's response to a great discussion we were having in another thread, but I forgot which one it was.

His very quick push really hurt him long term. At this point, no matter what he does, he will get boo'ed most the time. He can save a kitten, a puppy, a baby, a baby panda and a kit (baby beaver for you uncultured swines) from a burning building at once while spearing bank robbers, donating all the money to help orphans, while sending Donald Trump to Mexico, stopping terrorism, creating world peace, stopping global warming while releasing a line of cute dog sweaters and will still have hate.

thousands of guys training and wrestling all around the world for their whole lives who don't even get a second look... they are WAY more experienced, entertaining and deserving and we also deserve the better entertainment.... but Roman called The Rock & got a job, was trained for not even 3 months, then shot to the top of the industry??

BS!!! ....if it wasn't for The Rock, he wouldn't have a job in wrestling period
