I'll stop "not contributing" when certain people like you stop making the big deal out of everything and take things too serious/literally/butthurt. For fucks sake, just loose up a little bit, all I'm asking for.
Dont see how he is making a big deal. Also if you made comments like that on tv or radio ur ass would be gotten rid off for a good length of time due to being a public figure. Yes we have free speech but ppl really need to learn if u r remotely famous you have to keep certain opinions to urself.

Jay Briscoe would like to again express his sincerest apologies and regrets to all, especially his young fans, for his recent hateful twitter comment. Ring of Honor has insisted that Jay also make a public apology at the Ring of Honor event this Saturday night. Jay will address the public during the event.

In addition to this apology, Ring of Honor and Jay have agreed that he will donate his full pay from the next two Ring of Honor events to the Partners Against Hate charitable organization. Partners Against Hate was created to help prevent, deter, and reduce juvenile hate-related behavior.

For more information on PAH, visit http://www.partnersagainsthate.org.

I can see why the "death threat" would be a concern but I get the feeling he'd receive just as much flack even if he had left that part out. People seem to be even more sensitive than usual (and people these days are pretty damn sensitive) when it comes to certain gay people not having their feelings hurt.

People aren't more sensitive now than people were during the hayday of the black rights movement. It just seems so since we are living in a much more global society with much more advanced and easily accessible means of communication which virtually anyone can use to voice their opinion.

I don't see why Jay Briscoe is apologizing for saying something he clearly feels. He thinks homosexuality is wrong. OK, a ton of Americans do, mostly for religious reasons. I don't agree obviously, nor do most rational people, but he is clearly homophobic. ROH should take away his platform to say these things (they made him delete his twitter apparently, so that is the proper reaction IMO) but why force him to apologize for his beliefs.

Again, most of us don't share his beliefs, but they are his beliefs.

This, it's because he had the tool of Twitter that he spread his beliefs. If he didn't have it in the first place, doubt that he would be getting these reactions, or even said it publicly.

I'm not that keen on him having to give a public apology and donating his pay. He obviously believes what he wrote in his tweets so the apology itself is going to be very hollow and forced. And if ROH wanted to donate some money to make amends they should have donated money as ROH instead of donating as "Jay Briscoe's paycheck". Briscoe's apology should have been in the form of jobbing a bit or maybe even dropping the belt.

No way. His punishment was perfect (having his twitter account deleted). Dropping the belt for what? Not being as open minded as you and I? Your rationale is backwards my friend.
