NANAE TAKAHASHI VS. ODB

Joshi legend NANAE TAKAHASHI is coming to the United States! This is an incredibly special appearance by a woman who has cemented her legacy through nearly 20 years of competition. Early on, she excelled in tag team competition, but soon established herself as a singles force as well. Nanae Takahashi first made her mark in All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling. Eventually, Takahashi ventured into her own wrestling company, Pro Wrestling Sun. She is a two-time WWWA World Heavyweight Champion and also held the WWWA Tag Team Championship an incredible 5 times with 4 different partners.

Throughout her career, Nanae Takahashi has also been active on other joshi organizations, including JWP, NEO, and Ice Ribbon. In 2011, Takahashi was integral in the founding of a brand new promotion, World Wonder Ring Stardom. For nearly five years, she competed in STARDOM, sharing her knowledge and guidance with a new generation of exciting young athletes. Now Nanae Takahashi is about to embark on her latest endeavor when she starts her own, brand new professional wrestling company to be called "SEEdLINNNG."

Her opponent on July 17th is an international star in her own right: the incomparable ODB! ROH fans have grown to love her lewd, crude, unique attitude and style. Recently, ODB has found herself preoccupied with the House of Truth. But there is no doubt ODB will be squarely focused on Nanae Takahashi when they battle LIVE in Las Vegas!

IWGP Jr Heavyweight Tag Team Champions, YOUNG BUCKS (Nick Jackson & Matt Jackson) vs. ROPPONGI VICE (Rocky Romero & Berretta)

ROH WORLD TELEVISION CHAMPIONSHIP #1 CONTENDER TOURNAMENT

These six men will face off in a tournament to determine the next challenger for the ROH World Television Championship. The winner of each opening round match will advance to the Three Way Elimination final! The entire tournament takes place in ONE NIGHT so by the end of July 17th we will know the name of our new Number One Contender for the a Television Championship!

The ME sounds like a lotta fun, as well as the tourney to determine the #1 contender for ROH TV title.

Welp, Strong is out of the Las Vegas main event due to a clash with a commitment to a UK Date. So, Replacement will be announced soon by ROH.

Replace Roddy with Aries, please.
What purpose would that serve? Would be much better if they did something of worth with Aries rather than just have him replace Strong. Aries doesn't gain anything from this match other than being the sub for the number 1 contender. Which won't give him anything.

SHOW RESULTS - 7/11 ROH in Hopkins, Minn.:

Attendance: roughly 700-800.

Dark Match: The Romantic Outlaws beat Paco & Danny Aaron.

The show opened with a CW rep who was booed out of the ring and drowned out by "We Want Wrestling" chants.

(1) Mark Briscoe beat "Hotshot" Danny Duggan. Duggan, from the CWE promotion in Canada, wore Curt Hennig-like apparel. So, as you guessed, there were related chants.

(2) War Machine (Hanson & Rowe) beat Silas Young & Beer City Bruiser. BCB does The Crusher gimmick with the beer keg and cigar. Surprisingly a lot of movement between all these big men and it turned out to be a good match.

(3) A.C.H. beat Dalton Castle. The crowd was very much into Dalton's character and the high spots from A.C.H.

(4) Michael Elgin beat Matt Taven. A lot of jeers throughout the match as well as a lot of fans demanding that it end. If you had never seen ROH you would never guess Elgin was a former ROH World champion because of the small response he got. He cut a promo after the match and won over the crowd by reminding them of how much they mean to him and hyping his involvement in the G1 Climax tournament.

[Intermission]

(5) Michael Bennett beat Cheeseburger, Will Ferrara, and Moose in a four-way match. All wrestlers received good responses from the audience, especially Moose. Bennett has come a long way since the first time I saw him in person. He's gained a ton of charisma while he's in the ring.

(6) Adam Cole beat Bobby Fish. Really good match between these two. The fans cheered for both men equally throughout the match.

(7) Jay Briscoe & ODB beat ROH World & TV champion Jay Lethal & Truth Martini in a mixed tag match. Definitely the most exciting match of the night. The crowd loves ODB. She's extremely over in her hometown.

(8) Roderick Strong beat A.J. Styles and Kyle O'Reilly in a three-way match. This is why I hate triple threat matches. The crowd really wanted to see A.J. all night, but hardly got to see much of him in this match. A lot of the action was dedicated to O'Reilly and Strong, which still made for a great match, but when the biggest selling point of the show was to see A.J. wrestle and he barely got in much action, the crowd wasn't pleased by that.

- Biggest Pops: (1) ODB & Jay Briscoe. (2) A.J. Styles. (3) Kyle O'Reilly.

- Biggest Heat: (1) Jay Lethal. (2) Silas Young. (3) Michael Bennett.
