Former WWF champion Dwayne Johnson is featured on the cover and listed at the top of Hollywood's "Next A-List" of stars taking the entertainment "industry by storm" in the new issue of Entertainment Weekly.
The issue features a long article on Johnson's evolution as an actor from action-star with his start as The Scorpion King into an actor that stars in family films, such as The Game Plan. Johnson noted that he's quietly dropped The Rock nickname and has also dropped a lot of muscle mass to move from a one-dimensional action star to a legitimate actor.
The article praised Johnson's willingness to promote and help market films he is involved in, something that really carried him into Disney's good graces after "The Game Plan." The article also noted that Johnson took a pay cut and a smaller role in Get Smart, which is slated to be released later this month, just to take the chance to be part of the ensemble comedy's cast.
Johnson is currently finishing up the Disney film "Return to Witch Mountain" and will go right into a children's comedy where he plays the title character, "The Tooth Fairy."
The article also reviews all of Johnson's starring feature film roles.
