ROH TV Preview: OGK Meets World Champion Bandido And Rey Horus; First Of Two Women's Triple Threat Matches to Determine No. 1 Contender
525-preview.jpg

Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:”

The OGK (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett) vs. ROH World Champion Bandido & Rey Horus
Taven and Bennett are coming off their biggest win since reuniting late last year, as they defeated 11-time former ROH World Tag Team Champions Jay and Mark Briscoe at Death Before Dishonor last month.

The OGK are 4-1 in their latest run, with their only loss coming to then-ROH World Tag Team Champions Tracy Williams and Rhett Titus in a title match. Taven wrestled that match on an injured ankle, which he suffered in backstage attack by The Righteous earlier in the day.

Taven and Bennett are currently No. 3 in the tag team rankings as they continue on their quest to regain the ROH World Tag Team Title, which they held for several months in 2015.

Bandido and Horus have been teaming together frequently as of late despite Bandido being the ROH World Champion. Could the champ be looking to win tag team gold as well? If so, a win over OGK undoubtedly would earn Bandido and Horus a spot in the top 5 rankings.

Angelina Love vs. Miranda Alize vs. Willow
It didn’t take long for a line of challengers seeking a shot at new ROH Women’s World Champion Rok-C to form.

Six competitors immediately stepped up, so ROH Board of Directors member Maria Kanellis-Bennett decided there would be two triple threat matches, with the winners facing off to determine who challenges Rok-C at Final Battle in December.

The other triple threat match, which will take place on a future episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling,” consists of Trish Adora, Allysin Kay and Mandy Leon.

Love, who is looking to win her eighth world title, has a significant edge in experience in her match, but Alize and Willow are hungry and talented.

Alize took a 6-0 overall record (singles and tag team competition) into her match against Rok-C in the ROH Women’s World Title Tournament final, including wins over Nicole Savoy and Adora.

Willow defeated Alex Gracia in her ROH debut and nearly knocked off former world champion Kay in the first round of the tournament.

Soldiers of Savagery (Moses & Kaun) vs. Dalton Castle & Dak Draper
The last time these four were in the ring together was in an ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title Match at Best in the World in July. That night, Shane Taylor and SOS successfully defended the belts against Castle, Draper and Eli Isom.

The challengers had never teamed together before and were not on the same page. Since then, however, Castle has taken Draper under his wing, and the former ROH World Champion and the 2019 Top Prospect Tournament winner seem to be in sync.

SOS, who have been co-holders of the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship since February, have also had a lot of success in traditional tag matches on the independent circuit and have held their own against the likes of the Briscoes in ROH.

ROH TV Preview: Dragon Lee And Kenny King Put ROH World Tag Team Title On The Line Against SOS
526preview.jpg

Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:”

ROH World Tag Team Title Match: Champions Dragon Lee & Kenny King vs. Soldiers of Savagery (Moses & Kaun)
Lee and King escalated the bad blood between La Faccion Ingobernable and Shane Taylor Promotions when the LFI duo sneak-attacked STP’s Moses and Kaun after SOS’s victory over Dalton Castle and Dak Draper this past weekend.

After the attack, an enraged SOS challenged Lee and King to face them with the tag team belts on the line, and the match subsequently was signed.

Lee, who also holds the ROH World Television Title, and King have never lost a match by pinfall or submission as a tag team since joining forces in February. They’ve defeated teams representing The Foundation and Violence Unlimited.

SOS has been on a roll themselves, especially in six-man tag competition. SOS and Taylor have held the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title since February and are undefeated as a trio since forming a year ago.

The Foundation (Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Tracy Williams & Rhett Titus) vs. Eli Isom, Taylor Rust, World Famous CB & Joe Keys
The Foundation wants to show everyone what Pure wrestling is all about, and they want like-minded competitors to step up and face them.

Isom, Rust, CB and Keys (who is Gresham’s student) answered the call. These four outstanding technical wrestlers are looking to get where The Foundation already is, and winning this match would be a major step in that direction.

Skipable episode this week really. Both matches were solid but nothing spectacular and no angles were furthered all that much

They announced the lineup for the Halloween episode on week by week today. Gonna be Shane Taylor Promotions defending the 6-man titles against Danhausen, PCO, and Sledge.

Also some weird four corner tag match with random teams and Rok-C & Quinn McKay vs Miranda Alize and Max the Impaler

ROH TV Preview: Battle Between Former World Champions Jay Lethal And Homicide Headlines Violence Versus Pure Episode
527preview.jpg

Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:”

VIOLENCE VS. PURE
Violence Unlimited (Brody King, Chris Dickinson, Homicide and Tony Deppen) and The Foundation (Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Tracy Williams and Rhett Titus) have very different philosophies for what pro wrestling should be, and they’re going to war in three separate matches in an effort to prove which approach is superior.

Is violence the answer? Or will pure wrestling prevail?

Homicide vs. Jay Lethal
These two former ROH World Champions have plenty of history, going all the way back to 2002 when they faced each other in a dark match at the inaugural Final Battle.

They’ve traded victories over the years in ROH and elsewhere, with Lethal winning their last one-on-match at Death Before Dishonor in 2012.

Homicide re-introduced himself to Lethal after a seven-year absence in ROH by hitting a Gringo Killer on him at the end of the 19th Anniversary show earlier this year.

While they’re both highly decorated veterans, that’s where the similarities end.

Lethal wants to defeat opponents with legal wrestling holds and he believes strongly in the Code of Honor; Homicide believes in winning by any means necessary and will carve up an opponent’s forehead with a fork just for fun.

Brody King & Chris Dickinson vs. Jonathan Gresham & Tracy Williams
This matchup pits the size and power of King and Dickinson against the technical skills of Gresham and Williams.

In addition to being stablemates, King and Dickinson have had success as a tag team in NJPW Strong and are both former co-holders of the ROH World Tag Team Title.

Gresham and Williams, who also are former co-holders of the ROH World Tag Team Title, have been on the same side in numerous six-man and eight-man tag matches, but this is the first time they’ll be teaming together in a traditional tag match.

Tony Deppen vs. Rhett Titus
Deppen is an outstanding Pure wrestler, but he prefers violence and has chosen to fight alongside the like-minded King, Dickinson and Homicide.

Conversely, Titus has abandoned his rulebreaking past and embraced the Pure style.

Titus is in the best shape of his life and has the edge in experience, while Deppen is a former ROH World Television Champion just entering his prime.

It's hilarious that they're all like "forbidden door" when both girls have been wrestling for ROH too lol I guess bringing the titles and defending them is different but NWA titles have also been defended in ROH before
