I was proven wrong again - Mike Bennett actually pulled off a really great performance and actually looked credible as he and Rhett went the full fifteen matches - that was a really fun Pure Rules match to watch. A split decision to Mike Bennett though - seems like the wrong result though, Rhett looked much better in that match. It is what it is though a great episode of ROH

The judges are the one thing I'd change about the Pure matches. They don't do time limits that often so the times that they do, I'm be cool with it just being a draw. Especially in that match

ROH TV Preview: Members Of Violence Unlimited, La Faccion Ingobernable, Foundation, Shane Taylor Entreprises Go To War

Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:

Brody King vs. Kenny King vs. Jay Lethal vs. Shane Taylor
Members of Violence Unlimited (Brody King), La Facción Ingobernable (Kenny King), The Foundation (Lethal) and Shane Taylor Promotions (Taylor) will collide in the latest battle between ROH’s warring factions.
There is no love lost between any of these world class competitors, although Brody King, Lethal and Taylor do have mutual respect for one another. The outlier is Kenny King, who has no respect for anyone but his fellow LFI members.

The most heated grudge in this match is between Kenny King and Taylor.
The former friends, who were once stablemates in the now-defunct Rebellion several years ago, became bitter enemies earlier this year when King smashed Taylor over the head with a steel chair to help then-ROH World Champion RUSH of LFI defeat Taylor.

Taylor returned the favor at Death Before Dishonor a couple weeks ago when he hit King with a chair as STP successfully defended the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Title against LFI.

Brody King and Lethal both have plenty of motivation to win this bout. King is looking to get back in the win column after coming up short in a four-way elimination match for the ROH World Title at Death Before Dishonor, and Lethal is as committed as ever to “purifying” ROH.

This result of this match also figures to have implications for the ROH World Title rankings.

Pure Rules Match: PJ Black vs. Brian Johnson
Johnson entered the Pure division last week and made an immediate impact by winning a Pure gauntlet. In typical fashion, Johnson, the sixth and final entrant in the match, pinned LSG with his feet on the ropes for illegal leverage after punching him in the face.

“The Mecca” is on a mission to rule the Pure division, but Black -- Johnson’s mentor -- said Johnson has to defeat him in a Pure Rules Match to prove he’s ready. Johnson accepted the challenge.

“You win, you get the Black belt,” Black told him. “I win, you shake my hand.”

Will Johnson “graduate” with honors from his apprenticeship with Black? Or will the serene veteran teach his hostile student one final lesson?​

Well that last sentence isn't saying much as it's probably true for 98% of wrestlers. Tends to help when you're in there with people as good as, or better, than you.

Kind of True but hes really nothing compared to guys like the Briscoes, Gresham, Lethal, Williams and a few others.

There are guys who elevate others in the ring. Rush isnt one of those guys. Gresham is that kind of guy.

i get that Rush charismatic but his in ring ability isnt anything special.

ROH TV Preview: Who Will Face Violence Unlimited In Eight-Man Tag Match? Briscoes Take On Alex Zayne And Taylor Rust

Here’s a preview of this weekend’s episode of “Ring of Honor Wrestling:”

Violence Unlimited (Brody King, Tony Deppen, Chris Dickinson & Homicide) Eight-Man Tag Match Open Challenge
Violence Unlimited issued a challenge to “any four wrestlers who want to get violent” to face them in an eight-man tag match.

Who will step up? Will it be one of the other factions in ROH? Perhaps four individual competitors?

Regardless of who answers the challenge, VU’s opponents will be in for a tough time.

VU has won eight-man tag matches against The Foundation and La Faccion Ingobernable. In the only eight-man tag match they lost, to The Foundation at Glory By Honor last month, VU still were the ones left standing when all was said and done.

Jay & Mark Briscoe vs. Alex Zayne & Taylor Rust
Zayne and Rust made triumphant returns to ROH at Death Before Dishonor a few weeks ago. Zayne won the Honor Rumble to earn a future ROH World Title shot, and Rust defeated Jake Atlas.

Zayne and Rust have had plenty of success in singles competition throughout their careers, but this will be the first time they’ve teamed together. They couldn’t possibly face a tougher challenge in their first match as a team than the 11-time former ROH World Tag Team Champion Briscoes.

The Briscoes are No. 4 in the tag team rankings and cannot afford a loss to Zayne and Rust as they look to move into title contention (the top three contenders are eligible for a championship match).

The Briscoes are 3-1 in ROH since reuniting in July, and they also won a three-way match in Mexico earlier this month. Their lone loss in that span was to The OGK (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) in a hard-fought match at Death Before Dishonor.​

Great episode this week. Loved both matches, very competitive opener where all 4 looked good and Briscoes deserved to win. Main event was a great violence unlimited showcase to keep them back on track

Women's segment was very generic tho, WWE-like if you will lol but the positive was that it showed the current women's roster should have plenty of fun matchups

- I loved BJ's promo before the ring - he has very much become someone I have invested an interest in over the last few months

- The match was good - BJ Heel Tactics and 'rule bending' adds a new element to the Pure Division. Eventually - he is going to get caught and kicked out the Division but it will be fun whilst it last. PJ Black was looking technically strong though, so hopefully we get more air time for him as well in the coming weeks

- Isom vs. Mooney - zero interest in this match, 100% not watching Week-By-Week for it. And then they throw in a fight replay, and I'm left thinking why didn't they just put Isom vs. Mooney in this slot instead.

- This four way match - this four faction war. This is one of the best things that ROH is doing - keeping everything exciting, even if some repeat matches may take place - its all good. Credit to Kenny for seeming to take on RUSH's spot whilst he is injured.

- Solid main-event with the only person not really getting a show being Lethal. Would love to see ST and BK go one-on-one again.
