Lol yes it is, regardless of online issues.

Not really :/, the FGC (Fighting Game Community) has no tourneys online, due to everything having to be done to frame perfection. Hell another Exmaple is of Smite/TF2 teams actually having Tourneys in America and those games are multiplayer only games. No community other than MMO's actually have online competitive ranking. It's fine playing in "league play" but that's still for people who don't take COD that seriously, in a proper competitive environment it comes down to skill rather than who has the better internet provider.

No tournaments? GB has daily tournaments. PGL. EGL. There are tons of tournaments, and if you want to play competitively, it's very easy to do so. League Play isn't for casual players, they get destroyed. League Play for the majority is very competitive, and you can see that for yourself when you play against top level teams sweating their tits off for a win. As I said, casual players in league play get raped.

CoD is a very competitive game bro. Even in pubs.

The sense you mean it in, any game can be classed as competitive, however "Pubs" are just that. If you had the skills to back it up, you'd play "pro" and by "pro" I mean for money and locally. This would mean everyone has a fair playing field and people are playing this for the money they have to win to live on, this is alot different to just playing a game online. It takes a different mentality to play in an actual tournament.

Dude, what are you talking about? The game itself has a massive competitive community field with competitive teams who make lots of money playing LAN tournaments. There are lots of LAN tournaments like MLG, UMG, Gfinity, THE ESPORTS WORLD CUP and MLG itself are having CoD Ghosts headline the MLG pro circuit this season. Then you can move on to the online tournaments. MLG run gamebattles where any team can play tournaments for money. A whole range of tournaments with different game modes and rules. Competitive pro teams battle for pro points which affect their tournament seedings and in some cases what tournaments they can enter. There are so many online tournaments.

How is Call of Duty not a competitive game? Just because you CAN play it casually, doesn't mean you have to. You have the choice. I prefer to play it competitively and will be doing a lot more competitive in Ghosts.

I'm sorry, where did i say LAN isn't competitive? Infact i'm pretty sure that the first thing I said was LAN IS competitive, I even alluded to that adding in the FGC having EVO (The Biggest Fighting Game Tourney in the world) in America. It's just online is seen as less competitive in people's eyes due to the fact it can be most of the time put down to whoever has the better internet connection wins. The fact you want to go "pro" is awesome, I wish you luck, I just assume you'll actually go to LAN based tourneys and play for money, not just enter the online ones whenever you get a chance too.

I'd also like to point out that I DIDN'T actually say that CoD itself isn't a competitive game, I said it wasn't really considered competitive on an online scale for the reasons i mentioned above, this being to the more Hardcore players who don't want to have to rely on both parties having the best Ping to the whoever is the host and want it to come down to pure skill and thats it. You should know what I'm talking about there as earlier you put it, we would get "melted" by people who seem to be able to kill you quicker than it seems is possible.

"but due to Network issues, online isn't considered competitive." - so yeah, you did say that lol. Regardless of online issues, online Call of Duty is CERTAINLY competitive. You've made zero points against that.

I think your definition of Call of Duty being competitive is different to the post you were first referring too. I would also have to argue that the game itself isn't competitive, it's the actual community that makes the game competitive. Since if no one played it, there would be no competition to compete in and without the community attending the tournaments made by other members of the community, the scene wouldn't be around in the first place.

Wtf are you talking about lmao. That's the same in EVERY game. The community makes ANY game competitive. You've ran out of points to say lol.

You have no Idea what i'm talking about, yet you show some understanding of my point, this really is confusing :/! You said to me online CoD is competitive, which it can be. However it's only like that due to having that community. If there were only casual players, then we wouldn't have the MLG tournaments, because no one would attend and then it wouldn't be considered competitive.

a Prime example of this is Smash Bros Brawl the original creators of the game put in tripping to make the game less competitive because even though it's a fighting game, they didn't want it to be in tournaments. Yet Brawl was at EVO and played competitively (with items off and only certain stages), which made a game, not designed for competitive play, into a competitive game.

Black Ops 2 has been the only CoD game so far that's had anything to do with Online Competitive Tourneys, so I guess yes it is competitive, but only due to the community having played Locally enough for it to be considered to be put into the online section.

COD isn't competitive. I've destroyed 10th prestige's and an entire team in Search and Destroy and I barely play COD.
Call of Duty = Pussy Game
