HBK isn't retiring, just taking time off. You think they wouldn't build his final match up to be bigger then this? This match hasn't even had close to the amount of build last years did.

 Marks.....

I don't have a problem believing that HBK does legit want to retire to spend time with his family but I can't think of a single wrestler off the top if my head who actually stuck to retirement. That's why I think we'll see at least one more match out of him at WM 27 if not one or two more during the build up to the match.

^^^The Rock?

You are right but to be fair it is still way too early to judge on that one. Apparently Rock is supposed to be doing some summer guest hosting gig and even though he says he won't wrestle I don't know why everyone assumes that he is telling the truth.

Even if he doesn't wrestle that summer just wait until he does a WWE film (and he will) it will happen then.

^^^Which would render this match a colossal waste of time. By implication you'd be proving the theory that all of this is to stroke HBK's ego.

The match isn't a waste of time, and if anything, this is just a stroke to Taker's ego, since HBK has been planning to take time off during the Summer for a while now (like he did last year). Taker knows it's a guaranteed win, and doesn't have to explain why him going over someone yet again makes sense instead of giving back to the business.

I just think it's funny how so many people honestly believe it's his last match. They've had no kind of send off build up going for this for Shawn to step away now. It makes no sense for people to think this is it for him.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that when he does have his last match it will probably literally be billed as "Shawn Michaels' Last Match."

I don't get though how people think that just because it won't actually be a real retirement that he will win and break the streak for sure. I was reading predictions on pwtorch and pw.net and every single person's predictions I read are saying that he is not retiring therefore he will win.

Personally I'm seeing this as he gets screwed by HHH and when it comes time for him to come back to build up the match with HHH he'll go to Taker and get his blessing in storyline to wrestle HHH. Either that or they'll just cop out and call it an "unsanctioned fight."

Eh, I don't see any reason why Trips would get involved in the match. I also don't see him breaking the streak, even if the career stip wasn't on the line and HBK wasn't taking time off. Shawn doesn't need that feather in his cap, and Taker should have given it off to Edge or Randy Orton years ago, they could have used it more then anyone.

I think the getting screwed by Hunter is something that was brought up by someone when the match was announced and it grew legs. I like the idea because it turns HHH heel again and capitalizes on the motives that are there, y'know? Like HHH wanting to win the Rumble but having HBK take him out. Then he wanted to do DX at WM but Shawn screwed that up a couple of times. That coupled with the idea that I don't see HBK losing clean here especially with the No DQ stip, the only person that makes sense is HHH.

Though I do agree with you that Orton or Edge could've really made something out of ending the streak. Especially Edge. He's one of those main event guys in my eyes that can contend for a title at any time but isn't like a legendary superstar like a lot of established main eventers.

Then again... Going out the same way you returned from a career ending injury is kinda cool (See vs HHH @ Summerslam '02).

I just think it's funny how so many people honestly believe it's his last match. They've had no kind of send off build up going for this for Shawn to step away now. It makes no sense for people to think this is it for him.

...For fucks sake! Get your head out of your SMARK arse... Peeps are only speculating on the outcome of the stipualtion!!!

You've said yourself you believe it's an easy win for Taker, by virtue of which WWE will have to do SOMETHING in light of the stip to make it all make sense.

Said in another thread, I see HHH costing HBK the match kicking and them borrowing from the Savage '91 retirement storyline where he's brought back, leading to his TRUE (i.e. non-kayfaybe) retirment match AGAINST HHH at WM27.

So what's your predicted outcome then seeing as you've got all the damn answers and we're just dumb marks (according to you anyway)?

No, people here actually believe it's gonna be his last match.

Taker of course one again, selfishly goes over. HBK comes back after the Summer, you know, the fucking plan they have in place.

No... You believe that they believe that it's their last match.

Are you honestly arrogant enough to think you're the only wrestling fan on here 'smart' enough to be a tad synical whenever retirement matches are announced?

"Taker of course one again, selfishly goes over. HBK comes back after the Summer, you know, the fucking plan they have in place."

...Oh, so they just hope that no-one remembers HBKs loss and that there was a stip attached to possibly the biggest WM stip matches ever?

Great stuff... Really set yourself ahead of the 'pack' of us "marks" with that.

I meant beyond the mere result of the match (I'd already acknowledged you stating your thoughts on that part; try and keep up, Einstein.)

Your smark gimmick appears to be coming apart at the seams already. --->>

Jesus, first you can't quote, now you can't even read what people are saying in threads. Numerous members have said they believe it's gonna be his last match.

Are you honestly arrogant enough to think you're the only wrestling fan on here 'smart' enough to be a tad synical whenever retirement matches are announced?

What's the point in this statement exactly? Do you even have a point?

...Oh, so they just hope that no-one remembers HBKs loss and that there was a stip attached to possibly the biggest WM stip matches ever?

Jesus, they (WWE) don't give a shit what you remember. HBK is coming back after the summer, regardless of what you remember or what happens at Wrestlemania. You act like the E gives a fuck what you remember.

Great stuff... Really set yourself ahead of the 'pack' of us "marks" with that.

It's getting easier with you, you do all the work for me.

I meant beyond the mere result of the match (I'd already acknowledged you stating your thoughts on that part; try and keep up, Einstein.)

I can't even tell what you're talking about, since you can't seem to grasp the ability to quote someone's post.

Your smark gimmick appears to be coming apart at the seams already.

You're the one who believes HBK is retiring because the E is afraid people will remember he lost a retirement match.

On a serious note, LEARN TO QUOTE.

I'll have to disagree with you on this one. While quite a few of the top stars are nearing or over 40, the WWE has had great success in grooming the next generation stars and they appear eager to create even more at this WM.

Randy Orton: 29
His best years are still ahead of him.

John Cena: 32
The number 1 star in the company.

CM Punk: 31
In just three years he has become a top heel in the company. He is being given a high profile feud at this years Mania.

Shaemus: 32
Pushed to the WWE title and given a high profile feud with HHH at this years mania

Rhodes: 24
DiBiase: 27
Involved in a triple threat with one of the top 5 stars in the company at this years mania.

The Miz: 29
John Morrison: 30
Involved in the tag title match, that for all intents and purposes revolves around the two of them. It could just as well be a singles match.

MITB:
Kofi: 28
McIntyre: 24
Swagger: 28
Ziggler: 29
Evan Bourne: 27

It appears the WWE is focused on youth now more than ever. The average age of those on the card is probably between 29-32. Sure they aren't all involved in main event or high profile matches, but you have to start somewhere. In 5-8 years, some of these guys will be the main eventers and a new crop of guys will be preparing to step in and take their places at the top.
