It’s possible Tony has asked to return but Ricky doesn’t want to do the job. Unfortunately, we’re only hearing one side so it’s hard to say for sure. I do agree you can still use him if he’s got more than a month left on his deal, but he definitely needs to put people over on his way out.
Yeah I didn't wanna speculate because there's 0 proof n if just be talking shit, but if he's pals w punk n the elite r running the show mb he doesn't wanna job to jungle lol

I doubt it but even if true, that's still on Tony more than Ricky to me. He doesn't have to appease everyone when booking losses lol if all the "they don't wanna do jobs" stories are true that we hear about in AEW then Tony might as well at least give them creative control officially so he can pay less

Yeah I honestly don’t see that tbh. He seems to have no issues putting people over
Also agree w this tbh, I've never heard of him refusing to do business

I feel like he should have been a singles champion at least once in his time. I’m not counting the FTW title, I mean like the TNT championship.
It can't be denied that he was worthy of it at some point or another, sadly the stars didn't align on it. It's possible that injury troubles could have ruined that possibly as well, since TK was obviously keen to push him.

Considering his last angle was losing to a 60 year old man I think he’s cool with it when it makes sense

All opinions aside, yes, he's had terrible fucking luck w injuries at awful times n ppl getting hurt or fired at times it cut the legs from under him.

Yeah, I agree. Wrestling is wild, though. You’d think when someone refuses to job you’d threaten them with breach of contract, but promoters are often toothless and let the boys politic. I don’t think Ricky is, just saying it was a possibility. It would probably leak if true since we hear about Miro refusing every other month.

You can ask why and hear out of their reasons are better (even if selfish bc they don't wanna lose) but yeah lol

Yeah. I’ve never understood boomers who entertain this when like Chris said they don’t have official creative clauses. It should be a simple do what I’m asking you or you’re in breach.

Of course I’d explain my reasoning first and try to get them see what I’m trying to do, but we ain’t negotiating.

Malakai is the big one but that's mostly Alvarez screaming about it. It's just hard for me to buy that they get a pass to sit at home and get paid (which they obviously don't mind because they aren't asking for their release) just bc they say they don't wanna work lol

This too. If they can propose a better solution, but if it only benefits them and not the story or the other guy I’m taking it with a grain of salt.

Makes no sense because at the core of it no one WANTS to job

But it’s part of the biz

Unless you are the prize of the show and making the company a bajillion dollars you don’t get to put up a stink

Well it won’t help his cause that I don’t see him losing to Cope at the PPV
