Ricardo Lamas says Conor McGregor is just a loud mouth, talks upcoming bout, Aldo

Conor McGregor has gained considerable amount of hype in the MMA world over the last few years, the Notorious fighter made his last UFC appearance in Boston last August where he dominated Max Holloway and was sidelined after an injured ACL required him to get surgery. McGregor meets Diego Brandao at UFC's first event in Ireland in 5 years.

Since then, he's made a few enemies including the likes of Diego Sanchez and Cole Miller (who was originally set to meet McGregor until an injury forced him out of the bout). But now, McGregor can add one more to that list in Ricardo Lamas. The feud comes as a result of McGregor's criticism of his most recent loss to Feathweight Champion Jose Aldo by saying:

When he got the fight against Aldo he fought like he was happy he got the chance. He didn't fight to win. He fought to compete.

Lamas, who has an upcoming match against Hacran Dias at UFC Fight Night 44 in San Antonio though, is having none of it, and is paying the Notorious Fighter no mind whatsoever.

I don't pay attention to that guy. That's exactly what he wants. He's just a loud mouth, and very unoriginal. I have been eating, sleeping and breathing Hacran Dias since the day I signed the contract. He's in my sights now. Everyone else will have to wait.

Lamas also took some time to discuss other things, including his upcoming bout, and his training procedure heading into the fight.

Preparation is going great. He's a tough guy, I'm not taking him lightly.

He's very strong. and likes to control people on top and grind them out. I'm 100% concentrated on Hacran Dias right now and not thinking about anyone else.

I feel great at 145. I usually start camp at about 175 (pounds). Over two months I'll drop weight gradually and usually enter fight week at about 156. After weigh ins I'll get back up to 155-160

Lamas also took some time to reflect on his most recent fight against Aldo, admitting that he didn't entirely fight like himself that night.

I just didn't fight like myself. With a title riding on the line I didn't want to make too many mistakes and I was too conservative. I learned a lot from that fight and won't ever fight like that again. I was too tentative and you can't beat Aldo like that. Nothing he threw at me hurt me.

Continuing on the subject of Aldo, he offered up his take on Aldo's upcoming title defense against Chad Mendes which takes place at UFC 176 in LA.

I think it'll be a very good fight. Mendes is very dangerous and athletic, and if he learned from the first fight (Mendes was knocked out in the 1st round back at UFC 142) I think he can cause a lot of problems for Aldo.

Ricardo Lamas is currently slated to face Hacran Dias at UFC Fight Night 44 which takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas. And while he's more than focused - he certainly has no percieved image of a title shot anytime soon.

Right now I'm not thinking about another title shot. It is my main goal but I just want to take it fight by fight.

Lamas vs McGregor is a fight I'd love to see should once McGregor throws out Diego Brandao.

I think McGregor vs. Poirier is the fight they want to make after the Brandao fight and that is one I definitely want to see. McGregor vs. Lamas would be interesting too though.

I want to see Poirier fight the winner of the Stephens/Swanson fight, that make the most sense at the moment. Poirier's racking up the wins at the moment. I even did an article on it.

Maybe if Stephens wins, maybe, but if Cub wins there is no way he shouldn't get the next title shot and he just beat Dustin a couple fights ago anyway.

Maybe Edgar Vs Swanson, or perhaps the winner of the Guida/Bermudez fight coming up.

I still personally think Swanson has a lot of work due to the last time he fought Aldo he was KTFO in 8 seconds.

Yes but anyone can get caught and he's 7-2 since then and will be on a six fight winning streak if he beats Stephens. He's a different fighter than he was then and there's no reason he shouldn't get the rematch at this point.

I still would push for a Swanson Vs Poirier rematch, but we'll see how things pan out.
