Ok, whenever I watch Legacy, I'm pretty impressed. However, it's mostly because of Orton. Orton has taken his performance to new levels, and entertained most of us very well. His promos are great, and his character is great. But the other two, Rhodes and Dibiase, seem to just be following his lead, with no real character development...
It wasn't too long ago that Rhodes was a babyface, who sucked up to the crowd in an attempt to get over. Now he's a heel, but he's still the same CAWdy he was before, just a heel version.
My point here is, that, although those 2 are heels, and part of Legacy, they really don't seem to be developing in to guys who will be able to do well on their own in 3 years or whatever.
As a comparision, I look at Evolution. When Orton and Batista were in that role in Evolution, as the "apprentices" of HHH, you could tell that once Evolution was over, they would be able to main event, because they had a character that still exists in them to this day.
Batista is my first example. In Evolution, he was the enforcer. He was quiet, strong, powerful, and just "got the job done" withoiut much showboating. That was his character, and it was clearly defined. You wouldn't mistake him for another midcard heel, because he had a persona. And it helped him get over as a main eventer, and it still is, just as a face version now. But he still has the same character traits.
Next example is Orton. When he was in Evolution, he was the legend killer. He was cocky, but he was also cold and viscious. He wasn't just a mini Triple H, with the same package as HHH. He was put under HHH's wing, but he had a distinct character, seperate form that of HHH or Flair, that made him different, and allowed him to go out on his own later, and not be a HHH clone. He got to develop his own character in Evolution, and still uses that character today.

Now, back to Legacy... I just don't see that with these guys. Rhodes and Dibiase are basically Orton clones, and that's the problem I have. Under his wing, they should be given some traits and characteristics that make them still stand out, so that in a few year or whatever, when they break off hopefully into the main event, they will have their own distinct features, and not just another Orton. For example, if they were to break off in a few years by turning face against Orton, how would that work? They would be pretty much just like him, yet turn on him? In Evolution, Batista and Orton were seperate characters from HHH, so when they broke away, it made sense, as they had different gimmicks and whatever.

So all I'm saying here is, I think Rhodes and Dibiase are far to similar to Randy Orton in Legacy. I think it'll hurt them in the long run, because they're to similar, instead of developing their own trends, traits, and characteristics like Orton and Batista did in Evolution.
Do you agree? Do you agree and think they lack anything thta makes them different to help their character, or do you like their character development how it is?

I understand where you're coming from but I still think its ab it too soon to say where their characters are headed jsut yet. This legacy thing hasn't been going on for that long (even though we here knew it was bound to happen) and I think they need more time. I'm sure after Mania is said and done and Orton is champ we'll see more development from Cody and Ted. I don't know what road they'll take but I'm assuming that Cody will be more like Orton and Ted will be more like HHH. Just my thoughts, I don't even know why I think that but somehow that is what I see in them.

I'm hoping after 'Mania they do develope more. Cody is better as a heel, Ted is already good. But they focus more on Orton and not enough on Cody and Ted it seems. If they make them more of a threat than they are they'd be better. Give them the Tag Team Titles again also, I thought they were great as Champs. and if Orton wins the World Title, they'd be more of a threat as a faction whole.

Legacy is absolute fail. I initially thought this would be Ted & Cody's big push into singles (or at least tag team) superstardom, but all they've done so far is get there arses kicked by Triple H. They're aren't even the number one team in the 'E, they're playing third fiddle to both Mizorrison and The Colons. Hell, Cryme Tyme get more ring time then them, so they're down to fourth fiddle.

You know what? Priceless were way better off before they teamed up with Orton and it was just Cody, Ted & Manu. They actually beat John Cena & Batista (even if it was a roll-up, getting a pinfall win over the biggest face in the company in your rookie year is HUGE) and were getting consistent in-ring/mic time as World Tag Team Champions. They joined up with randy and what have they become? You wouldn't even know if they're face or heel anymore if it wasn't for their association with master Randy.

I say after wm 25 both ted and Cody will be better with Orton. i think that they can both wrestle well, but need character development very quickly. Although i can see ted being a huge face and Cody a huge heel in the future.

Back before Orton they were the top tandem in the world, but now all I see in them is their great ability to play as bitches. They sure as hell don't look like stars of the future, and apparently, that's what Legacy is supposed to make them.

I disagree. When Evolution began, I don't think you would have predicted how huge Batista and Orton could get. Batista was just "the muscle" and Orton was "HHH's understudy" and they didn't really have any character but it did start coming out near the end of their group's run.

As of right now, I think that Dibiase and Rhodes are good enough. They're not completely bland like Hawkins and Ryder, and they have a famous surname to back them up. If they start getting too strong a character, then they'll have to feud and break the group up and I think it's too early to do that.

I think they need to be in a mini-feud with another tag team while also being a part of Legacy and helping out Randy. It could give them a chance to develop as characters and show us why they deserve to stay around for the long-term.

^^^ This guy said it best. They were better off when they were Priceless and not in Lagacy. They are Orton's tools right now, nothing more. Legacy is all about Orton right now. They did all those initiations for what? To get the shit beat out of them. I thought this was to get the 2nd generation guys higher up, but Orton's leading a group full of jobbers. Maybe after mania they'll do something, but as of now Priceless>Legacy.

Hell Yeah, i agree with Mike Raw. They have potential to be the top tag team in the WWE, and they are being used as Orton's lackeys. They don't even have a Wrestlemania match. The wwe needs to give them something other than Orton's assistants. On top of that, like you said, give them some character. Orton was the legend killer, give Dibiase the million dollar belt, or at least have them going for the tag titles. Something.

Pushing DiBiase and Rhodes or giving them something as of right now for that matter would be just dumb. There's a reason why they havent done anything with them. You say it is all about Orton...of course it is all about Orton, WM 25 is practically built around him, so to even try to do something with Rhodes and DiBiase taking away from Orton's focus wouldnt be too smart.

If they don't do anything with them after WM 25, then I'll agree

No, no, I never said they should be pushed and have more focus than Orton. They need to be working with Orton, like they are now, which is fine, because WM is about Orton. But while they are doing that, they should really have some of their own traits, instead of being Orton clones.
Example: Even at the start of Evolution, it was all about HHH, but Orton and Batista still had their own personalities. Batista was the muscle, Ortonw as cocky, and developing into the legend killer... In Evolution, if say HHH ran away from someone, not all 4 would have to run away like pussies. Sometimes one, like Batista, would stay an fight, because even though he was with HHH, he was able to have his own character traits, such as not being a huge pussy. That' sjust one example, but I'm not saying they should have their own heuge feud. What I am saying is while they're with Orton, and helping him out, they should still be able to have their own characteristics, and not be just pussies, and act 100% the same as Orton.

I think he was talking to me MikeRaw.

Not putting two of your youngest brightest stars on the biggest show of the year IS dumb to me. I agree you don't want to take the focus away from Orton, but Orton aside, Priceless was doing just fine without Orton, and now they are just lackeys. If nothing else throw one in the MITB. But i think not showcasing Ted Dibaise on his first mania is bad booking imo.

I cant even compare Evolution/Legacy bc Evolution was a actual faction. Legacy is basically Orton and his lackeys.

I do agree not showcasing at least one of them in MITB or in other kind of match is bad, however, in away, it makes sense, as they want it all to focus on Orton.

As for MikeRaw, I don't think that the scenario even gives for Rhodes and DiBiase to set apart from Orton. The only reason they are together is because they are rather similar and because they are second generation superstars. Their alikeness is what keeps them together

Others have been bringing up Evolution but just like Montana said in his first post to do something with them. Million dollar belt, tag titles, mitb something.

Because them being the new Evolution or not even Evolution had things for Orton and Batista to do. Weather you saw them being in the main event after the faction broke up or not was a different thing but Orton had the 7 month IC Title run while Batista and flair held the tag team titles. They were given a roll to do on the roster not just lackeys for Triple H and Flair.
