There is no reason to bring back the brand split even though some I respect and find interesting some of your opinions. There was a reason the brand split ended, obviously due to the lack of amount of star power and guys on the entire WWE rooster, even if you take all the stars including the ones who normally just appear on NXT, Saturday night show etc, there still would not be a large enough amount of superstars to support also. Also Raw Is 3 hours, I think this show would look even more horrible than smackdown if brand split were to come back. So I don't think they should consider brining back the brand split unless they can maintain it with a rooster of 50 WWE superstars, which was is nearly impossible.

Imagine this is the reason why Shield split up, lmao.

I could see it as a way of Brad Maddox seeking revenge on the group (for attacking him back in January) by drafting one of them after Vickie has already drafted another member, therefore intentionally breaking the group apart. I like the idea of them imploding but I also like the idea of them being split apart like this, because it shows they were so tight as a trio that it was other circumstances beyond their control that finally broke them apart... even though since two out of three will still end up on the show with each other, you could still do a 'break up' angle between those two. I think this would work best if Roman Reigns ended up on one show and Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins ended up on the other, and at some point, Ambrose turns on Rollins and we get a heel Ambrose feud against a face Rollins. These two seem like they'd have the best chemistry with each other out of any three pairs ups of the group (Ambrose/Rollins, Ambrose/Reigns, Rollins/Reigns) anyway.

But that's just one idea. In the case of a draft lottery, it could end up being the case that The Shield (and perhaps the Wyatt Family as well) would be just like NWO back in 2002 during the first ever draft lottery, where they're able to be drafted as a group rather than just individuals. One shows gets one, the other gets the other, even though I'm sure The Shield will already be headed towards the path of self-destruction by the time another hypothetical draft happens anyway.
