Don't get me wrong, I love the current systems and games, but I grew up in the 90's and played a ton of great games back then that I still love to this day. I still have a NES, SNES, Genesis, and N64...so I actually play some of these games on a pretty regular basis. So use this thread to talk, review, ect on everything retro in the gaming.

So I'll get this going. Only reason I use my Wii currently is for all the stuff on the VC, there's a ton of good stuff on there. Game that gets the most play for me when having people over is:

Was a huge fan of the Super NES originally and when this came out me and friends spent countless hours with this game. For the time the graphics where great and the gameplay was simple and fun. Granted there's been sequels that have obviously been graphically better, but the tracks in this game I think with out a doubt where the best in the series. Koopa Troopa Beach with the shortcut through the waterfall, and Wario Stadium where 2 of my favorites. Remember on the Wario Track people would store the shrink attack and unleash right before the big jump screwing everyone over and putting them right back in it.

Absolutely love retro games and systems, They are played by me more often then either of the current generation systems the Wii and PS3 which i own. Was never really a Mario Kart 64 fan but that has a lot to do with the fact that i have rarely played it. At the time that came out i was caught up in the Pokemon gaming world lol.

But back on point love old games, my all time favorite is probably Legend of Zelda Link to the Past on the SNES then right their with it Super Mario 3 on the NES and Super Mario World on SNES. And one cant forget the great RPG's of that generation, the Final Fantasy's, Breath of Fire, Legend of Mana and so on. I really should stop talking or the SNES may be coming out of the box in the closet lol.

SNES is still prob my favorite system of all time, just countless great games. Final Fantasy on the SNES was the game that got me into RPG's. Got it set up in the basement so I'm going to get some game time in this weekended and I'll write up some more thoughts.

Sonic the Hedgehog for life.

Yeah Sonic games where fan, but Mario games where just way more fun. Honestly they haven't made a good Sonic game since Genesis and Mario has had classics across multiple Nintendo gens.

Besides No Mercy this was my favorite wrestling game for N64 ever. I think No Mercy has pretty much made this game a forgotten gem since they were similar just one WCW and one WWE but I personally loved them both.

I might be the only guy who liked the Dreamcast and also had the 32x add on for the Genesis

Man I forgot all about the 32X but I had that before but can't remember what happened to it but didn't have it for too long. And Dreamcast I just didn't care for it enough to ever get it. Not many people I knew had it either.

Loved WCW/NWO revenge the originally great but they added so many features to that game that at the time were pretty amazing. Place the controls for those games made it so simple that the fun just flowed.

Never had 32X but I did have the Sega CD the original one:

I never had it myself so what made it so bad as it sounded good in theory for that time period.

I loved the Dreamcast. I had every game made literally as you could copy any game on to a cd. I used to rent them from Hollywood Video, rip em, and play the burned copies.

Never knew you could do that. That shit would come in real handy today with the prices of games nowadays.

Saved a bundle and got some great gaming out of it. The system and games still work today, as I played em like a month ago. I mean Blitz, the original 2K, and WWE Royal Rumble are great fun especially at the price

Thats one thing I loved about the older systems they are durable as hell. Had a Sega that worked for 10 plus years and probably still could work to this day.
