Since the PS4 disc comes with a free upgrade to PS5, I downloaded the new-gen version. It does look smoother and more detailed, and the loading screens are gone, it's pretty impressive. Sadly, I noticed that the trophies didn't carry over to PS5 so I'll have to go for the platinum again I guess.

I'd be happy about that, but I am a trophy crazed person Glad you're enjoying it.

Something I noticed on the replay, when Lady D licks ethan's blood she says it tastes like it's gone stale. That part stuck out to me the first time and now we know it's because he's

So is Ethan. By the end of the game, you learn that Ethan is not only dead, he's also a molded.

I was not expecting that ending or twist. For once, Capcom did a good job. Bring on Resident Evil 9.

To be fair, if you pay close attention throughout the game, it hints heavily at Ethan's reveal and all. Still doesn't ruin the game though.

They flew over my head. I don't know if that makes me an idiot or not, but I honestly didn't notice. Except 10 minutes before the reveal.

It's fine. It flew over a lot of people's head at first, but I just analyze games way more than I should, so I picked on its kind of quick. As I said though, it still didn't ruin it for me.

I noticed they used the RE4 music in save points. Though, it's kinda muted. Wish they'd kept the old theme, rather than muting it.

Yeah, it is a bit muted as well as them changing a few things about it as well, and I agree just keep the old theme and there you go

The RE4 save theme is one of my favourites. So calming but really nails that 'safe for only a moment' before you got to face the enemies again. Always loved that vibe about Resident Evil with the save themes.

Resident Evil Village Is Getting a Full Third-Person Mode - IGN

Capcom is adding an option to play the entirety of Resident Evil Village from a third-person viewpoint, but you'll need to buy the new DLC to access it.

Capcom is adding an option to play the entirety of Resident Evil Village from a third-person viewpoint, but you'll need to buy the new DLC to access it.

Announced at today's Capcom Showcase, the new DLC for Resident Evil: Village includes three major features, including a third-person mode that finally gives us a look at the elusive Ethan Winters.

Despite the switch to third-person, it appears faceless protagonist Ethan Winters will continue to obscure his face, moving to face away from the camera (even though mods reveal what he looks like).

After 6 games (and multiple spin-offs) that used a third-person perspective, Resident Evil 7 and Village switched to a first-person view – a move that has been divisive among long term fans. Modders have sought to change that on PC versions of the game, but this is a more official (albeit paid-for) solution for Village.

Resident Evil Village's DLC drops on October 28, and will also include the mercenaries mode, with a playable Lady Dimitrescu, and a new, separate story about a young Rose. A Resident Evil Village Gold Edition will also be released at the time that includes the full game along with the DLC.

Ok I watched the trailer and it looks like Rose will visit the castle Dimitrescu. Also the Duke seems to be a villain now and Rose is seeing writings on walls. I'm afraid it's going to be some kind of psychedelic trip or nightmare that is happening in her head and doesn't have any incidence on the series. I also fear that they will just recycle locations from the main game instead of giving us new stuff. I do hope I'm wrong.

Third Person Mode already existed as a mode, but it is cool to see it come to consoles. As for the Rose, I like the idea of it as it seems like a Alice in Wonderland type concept, but I'll hold on my opinion until I actually play it or see more of it.

Also that mercenaries mode update looks pretty tight. I used to sleep on that a lot in the previous Resident Evil games but it's actually pretty fun.

It was one of my favourite things about Resident Evil 6 honestly, and there wasn't many. That was at least pretty fun and had replay value.
