Hello all,

As you can tell, Super Aniversario is mere days away, and so it's time to take in opinions on NWPC Season 2, which will begin with an event to take place on the weekend of July 4-6, 2025. I'll be taking into account all suggestions on how to improve your predicting experience. I'd especially love to hear your opinions on:
  • Format: I feel the current thing with the Free-For-All gives everyone something to do, as opposed to the previous format which I feel alienated non-title holders. Are there any ways you could think of that could add more meaning (that isn't just adding extra championships, we can barely sustain 2 with current numbers)?
  • Breaking ties: I've had some complaints about the earliest submission rule as a last-resort tie breaker. Do you have any better ideas?
  • Sorting the rankings: Having "right predictions" as the second sort, instead of tiebreaks, was designed to reward regular predictors, but since regular predictors rack up TB points at a rapid rate, this seems moot. How would you sort the rankings?
  • Recruitment: I'm always looking for new predictors. I want to make it clear that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO WAIT FOR A NEW SEASON TO START TO PREDICT. This is something that certain regulars here have expressed, and I want to tell you that's not the case. Any other ways recruitment could be improved?
  • Any other issues you had over the course of the season, feel free to express them here.
Gonna tag all the current and former regulars here in order of their current ranking, to canvass for thoughts.

For HUGE shows like Mania, All In etc there should be a multi man match for like a #1 contenders match at a future show, for whichever title they wanna go after.

I also feel a tournament format for certain shows could be fun. The top 8 point getters or what have you could be "qualifiers" into said tournament and then we go from there.

This is just a minor suggestion but add a third title, and run it akin to a division system based on rankings.

Players can move up or down a division based on how well they do in their respective division.

There's the world title, the middle title, and the lower title. What if the world title could be held indefinitely, but the middle and lower title can be held for a maximum time? What if they could defend the title a maximum of 5-8 times, and if they reach the max, they'll move up the rankings into the next division. When this happens, the lowest ranked member of that upper division is moved down to the lower division.

This allows everyone to at least compete for something, even lower ranked members. They have opportunities to challenge and move up the better they do, and members who get taken to a lower division have the opportunity to compete for a title immediately!

Sort of sounds like my old system.

Barry's basically said what I was going to say. Makes it more interesting. Not that you haven't done a great job though Sky. All up for this happening.

Also maybe have a tag team randomiser once a month or every big card as long as there's enough of us doing the game.

TAG TEAM WRESTLING (predictions)

To break ties, we could run a weighting system to your predictions.
e.g You have a show with Cena (c) v Truth, Orton v Kane, Tiffany v Lita, and well, APA vs Hardys. You are absolutely certain that Tiffany wins, so you lock her in at (4) for weighting. This means if you get it right, you get 4 points. So you could in theory get a maximum of 10 points for a 4-match card. Then you can factor in the tie-breakers if necessary. I feel this renders earliest submission moot and adds a degree of difficulty and difference. Some may have the same pick, but just how "lock" are these picks?

e.g card from Double or Nothing

AEW Double or Nothing
Date: Sunday, May 25, 2025
Location: Desert Diamond Arena - Glendale, Arizona, USA
14"Hangman" Adam Page vs. Will Ospreay (1)2025 Owen Hart Men's Tournament Final
15Jamie Hayter vs. Mercedes Mone (5)2025 Owen Hart Women's Tournament Final
16"Timeless" Toni Storm (c) vs. Mina Shirakawa (4)Match for the AEW Women's World Championship
17The Hurt Syndicate: Bobby Lashley/Shelton Benjamin (c) vs. The Sons of Texas: Dustin Rhodes/Sammy Guevara (3)Match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship
18Ricochet vs. Mark Briscoe (6)Stretcher Match
19FTR: Dax Harwood/Cash Wheeler vs. Daniel Garcia/Nigel McGuinness (2)Tag Team Match

Now, if we look into this further, under the current system, I scored 5/6. But with the weighting (as indicated by orange), I would have scored 20 points of a maximum 21 available.

Not sure we have the numbers to support that but I'll take it into account

The easiest thing to do, when it comes to changing/replacing the final stage of tie-breaking, would be to just go back to the last event and take the scores from that into consideration. Meaning if two people are tied in points and TB, the last event where both people were participating decides the outcome. If they're also tied in both (scores and TB) in that one, go back another event etc. until you find an event where the people in question aren't tied.

And if there's no former event all the people in question have participated in, then use the time of sending predictions or the overall ranking to determine the winner of that tie.

Would feel a little discouraging to the newbies. What if it were reverse order of overall ranking? The logic being that it would be a great achievement for a "lesser ranked" predictor

Yea, sure.... or make it time dependent then. It would shove one more check between the TB points and the time decider.

I personally don't care about the point of time being the last deciding factor, but I'd rather have a simple check put in front of it, instead of something too convoluted.

See I like this. This is how I remember it being once before. :lol I think this would be a cool way to go about it.

I always ran the weighted system, it worked when doing one event at a time bc I never combined them like we do now. Would be even more of a necessity nowadays if we did one event shows when WWE has 4 and 5 match cards lol

Some good ideas from everyone. Makes it more interesting what's been said and I'm looking forward to seeing how this is done.
