Report on Who Will Induct Sting

- Sting, who was announced in June at Slammiversary as the inaugural inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame, will be inducted by retired wrestler and longtime friend Lex Luger, according to Busted Open.

Sting's formal induction will take place at Bound For Glory on October 14, 2012 at the Grand Canyon University Arena in Phoenix, Arizona.

Sting and Luger have been close friends dating back to the 1980s when both competed for Jim Crockett's World Championship Wrestling. Luger's last TNA appearance involved Sting as in September and October 2006, he and Buff Bagwell appeared on iMPACT! to help the wrestling legend prepare for his match against Jeff Jarrett at Bound For Glory.

I think this is a good choice, Luger and Sting have their fair share of history for sure.

TNA could have named their version of the 'Hall of Fame' differently. It's just a cheap rip off of WWE's world renowned Hall of Fame. I guess with Sting being inducted into TNA's version that means any chance of him being inducted into WWE's is almost zero. For some reason I thought Christian was meant to be inducting Sting but I probably got mixed up with something to do with when he last appeared on TNA. I'm surprised TNA didn't take the liberty of copying WWE again and having a Hall of Fame show!

Multiple problems with your post. a) WWE's HOF isn't world renowned. b) What could TNA have named it instead of "Hall of Fame" which every other sport also names theirs. c) There's still a good chance for Sting to be inducted to the WWE one once he leaves TNA, WWE always has a lot of Sting stuff up on their website. d) WWE copies TNA too, this past Raw, they allowed you to watch the matches during commercial breaks on WWE.com, something TNA has been doing ever since the start of the summer, which has been enjoyable.

Yes, it is. When international media, for example, cover news stories about WWE Hall of Famers they almost always mention the Hall of Fame.

Example from IGN.com: During a scary live-TV ordeal, WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler gets stretchered out of the arena and taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.

I highly doubt it but there again funnier things have happened.

I would disagree on the enjoyment point. It must get rather annoying having to switch between a television and a computer if your desperate enough to watch 3 full hours of PG nonsense.

I was referring to it being enjoyable for TNA, this was the first time Raw did it and I haven't seen any feedback on it. Your "PG nonsense" line says a lot about what kind of fan you are though.

Nothing really incorrect with opinions since they are opinions and not facts, you can disagree with them but they can't be incorrect.

It is the best choice now that TNA has nothing to do with Flair, what kind of shape is Luger in though because I seem to remember him being wheelchair bound.

Fair choice I say given the history. Question is will TNA's version of the Hall of Fame actually induct TNA home grown names in the future. I get that a wrestling Hall of Fame should represent all of wrestling but given the limited access of names that TNA has acess to then maybe they should look more to their own talent, such as Styles, Daniels, Joe etc.

It should be a recognition for guys that are now retired or only appearing every once in a while. I think that Jeff Jarrett should be next simply because without him there would be no TNA and then maybe the year after Angle will finally be retired so they can add him.

Fair point I just didn't know if TNA had enough wrestlers who fit that bill so didn't know if it might not be best to make it a TNA themed HOF. Then again if it is just one per year that could work.

I think that they have to go with one per year because they don't have enough history yet. They have been around for ten years and so it is too soon for a HOF. Keep going with the one per year concept until a few more stars retire and then they can gradually expand it to two or three a year.

I heard that Christian was to induct him, but that damn clause in his WWE contract would prevent him from
going anywhere near a TNA event.

Since TNA has only been around for 10 years, they really wouldn't have a lot of options as far as home grown
wrestlers go. They'll probably do wrestlers that have been big names in TNA in the past. Examples could
include Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Raven, etc.
