Got told about an awards event 10 minutes before it was due to start, work decided they wanted a stall there mainly just to offer some representation for the company, management were already there so we ended up working (it's a youth charity offering guidance to help people into work). Also there was someone letting you take pictures with the Olympic torch so we did that....
