Real Champions Wear Tights

I never really noticed this till recently but aside from John Cena and Undertaker, WWE world champions with some of the longest reigns have worn tights. I don't know if it's a common trend for WWE stars but it seems like it is.

Maybe it's just an overlooked observation but looking at the list of champions in the past 5 years, Kurt Angle, RVD, Edge, Mysterio and Jeff Hardy are the only ones that have been champion that don't wear tights (Angle and RVD have more tight shorts). And their reigns (except for Angle, Edge and Mysterio) have all been less than 60 days.

In recent years, Big Show, Jericho, Miz have all changed their attires to tights. Will this lead up to a long World Championship reigns?


Am I over thinking or do I have a point? What do you think?

I actually had a conversation with my friends who wrestle the other day. I found it pretty funny when they told me they notice they actually book more shows when they show up to a trial match in their tights than they do in their ring pants or pants like Rey wears. So maybe there is some truth to it.
