Raw preview, March 28, 2016: No sleep 'til Brooklyn

After his kendo stick assault on Brock Lesnar on SmackDown ended in an F-5, Dean Ambrose will have retribution on his restless mind when he enters the Barclays Center for Raw. Will The Beast Incarnate be waiting in Brooklyn, N.Y., six nights before their No Holds Barred Street Fight at WrestleMania? Plus, how will Shane McMahon and The Undertaker respond to Mr. McMahon’s announcement that, if The Deadman does not defeat WWE’s prodigal son inside Hell in a Cell, this will be his last appearance on The Grandest Stage of Them All? WWE.com previews the final Raw before WrestleMania 32.

1. Who is the true authority in WrestleMania's main event?
20160321_raw_video_romanattack--78354963bb7cc74706a1f91c6cc8aac3.jpg

WWE World Heavyweight Champion Triple H might have evaded Roman Reigns last week on Raw, speeding away in the back of an SUV, but The Game won’t have a getaway car when he defends his title against The Big Dog at WrestleMania. But six nights before that anticipated Show of Shows main event, Reigns and Triple H will cross paths in Brooklyn.

Reigns made a statement Thursday night on SmackDown by mercilessly laying outboth Dudley Boyz, reinforcing his assertion that he’s the real “authority” in WWE. How will The Cerebral Assassin respond to that startling show of aggression?

2. To what extremes will Ambrose go to slay The Beast?
20160324_sd_brockpromo_2--5bbf1e6f3a36daf53defe9b4f4822c60.jpg

With an extreme arsenal of WWE Hall of Famers’ weapons of choice — including Mick Foley’s “Barbie” and Terry Funk’s chainsaw (yes, a chainsaw) — Dean Ambrose seems more than prepared to conquer Brock Lesnar in their No Holds Barred Street Fight at WrestleMania. Yet, as we witnessed on SmackDown, the only weapon The Anomaly might need at The Show of Shows is the F-5, a move that has felled the likes of John Cena, Triple H, The Rock and even The Undertaker.

The Lunatic Fringe’s kendo stick attack ended painfully for Ambrose on SmackDown thanks to Lesnar’s feared finishing maneuver, but the unstable Superstar won’t be able to resist a potential opportunity to get a piece of The Beast before their hardcore brawl on The Grandest Stage of Them All. Expect Ambrose to bring mayhem to Brooklyn, live on Raw.

3. Are we approaching The Undertaker’s final WrestleMania?
20160321_raw_video_vkm--c8ad62bb110f2bd2a17f1139c56ce853.jpg

As if the stakes weren’t already high in the anticipated Hell in a Cell Match between Shane McMahon and The Undertaker at WrestleMania, Mr. McMahon added a startling stipulation to the bout: If The Deadman doesn’t defeat WWE’s prodigal son, this will be his final appearance on The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Now, the WWE Universe faces two potential realities in the aftermath of The Show of Shows that could shift the landscape of sports-entertainment. Either Shane assumes control of Raw — and, by extension, WWE — or The Phenom walks away from WrestleMania forever. How will both combatants respond to The Chairman’s bombshell announcement Monday night?

4. Will Jericho accept Styles’ challenge?
raw1191_fb_y2j_03--05cfa18de270eb756995ee388e6673ef.jpg

Everyone wants AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho IV at WrestleMania … except Chris Jericho. After The Phenomenal One threw down the gauntlet for a battle on The Grandest Stage of Them All, “The Best in the World at What He Does” vehemently declined the challenge in a WWE.com interview, saying he would rather “sit out” at WrestleMania than face Styles again.

Despite Jericho’s refusal, will Styles continue his pursuit of a rematch on Raw? If not, what awaits Styles as he approaches the first WrestleMania since he joined the WWE roster?

5. How will the “Total Divas” even the odds?
event_03222016rf_0240r--d40371698678e33f613e71f7736225f7.jpg

The Divas division underwent a sudden shakeup on Tuesday night, when Emma and Summer Rae joined forces with Lana, Naomi and Tamina to form a formidable alliance against Brie Bella, Paige, Alicia Fox and Natalya.

Clearly, the five-Diva squad has a numbers advantage against the stars of “Total Divas,” changing the complexion of what was originally shaping up to be a 4-on-4 clash at WrestleMania. Will the reality TV stars find a new ally to even the odds? If so, who will it be?

6. Who will gain the upper hand before WrestleMania’s Intercontinental Title Ladder Match?
20160323_michaelcole_ko_card--5b3c5211b15873f634e58f527b72ca67.jpg

This whole [HASHTAG]#KOMania[/HASHTAG] thing seems to have blown up in Kevin Owens’ face. After attempting to deny Dolph Ziggler, The Miz and Sami Zayn an opportunity to challenge him for his Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania, The Prizefighter has found himself in the unenviable position of having to defend his title in a Ladder Match against all three of those Superstars, along with three additional challengers: Zack Ryder, Stardust and Sin Cara.

Owens talked a big game in his WWE.com interview with Michael Cole on Wednesday, dismissing his six opponents — namely Ryder. Yet, it was “Zack Daddy” who left the boastful champion staring up at the lights in a seven-man melee onSmackDown. Will The Long Island Iced-Z continue to ride this momentum to WrestleMania, or will another one of these seven Superstars break from the pack before The Showcase of the Immortals?

Don’t miss Raw at 8/7 C on USA Network, and be sure to tune in to Raw Pre-Show at 7:30 ET, only on the award-winning WWE Network. Not a WWE Network subscriber? What are you waiting for?

I hope this show is a total disaster. Come on, give us something Jacob Fox will rate a -5/10. Give us a spectacular stinkbomb we'll bring up for years.
Let this be the Vince Russo's email of wrestling shows! :yay:

...I can't believe I'm saying this... but this is perfect.

The Divas title match really needs some heat, and NOTHING will get people riled up for this match than a Nikki Bella promo. Maybe she can talk about how she was such a glorious champion, the longest reigning champion of all time, the forefront of the Divas' Revolution... bring back ALL the things that got us so pissed off at the treatment of the Divas last year. Remind us why we were salivating to see this match so much last year. It'll be GREAT!

...or she can just pop up as Chick #10 in the piss break match. :downer:

Despite all the garbage we've been fed in recent weeks and the poor build up overall, I gotta say, I'm really looking forward to RAW tonight. With this being the final show before Mania, how can it really go wrong? Granted, it's WWE but I feel there's just too much potential for it not to be good.

We should expect last minute announcements and/or stipulations in certain matches, as in a special guest referee, thus an unexpected (?) appearance from a Rock or a Shawn Michaels or a Steve Austin.

We should also expect the typical contract signing segment, likeliest scenario in my opinion being that between Shane MacMahon and the Undertaker. Speaking of this, with Vince plainly calling the Undertaker his bitch, one would think he has a Tombestone coming his way and whether this happens on RAW or at the PPV remains to be seen but I can't imagine Taker won't respond to it at all...

Should we expect the Tag Team titles to be added as the big prize in the New Day vs LON match at Mania? I kind of think so cause quite frankly, it makes no sense whatsoever for these two teams to be fighting in a non title match, not to mention it makes no sense for the Tag Titles themselves not being defended in the grand daddy of them all...

So yeah, all in all I think we have a good show to be looking forward to in a few hours and hopefully WWE comes through; well, at least they better...

The New Day vs The League of Booty is officially a BATTLE FOR SUPREMACY, buddy. :booker2:

Seriously, it's on WWE.com

Would've been a helluva lot better if it was a tag title match, though. The New Day beating those 4 goofs in a handicap match would've been sweet.

Oh, and I'm not getting my hopes up for the show. Last year's go-home show for Mania sucked, it wouldn't surprise me one bit if this one did, too.

You didn't find that tug of war to be enthralling television? Shame, shame.

Looking back over last year's go home show. May recap it for fun haha. Still have my fingers crossed for "The Authority can't make it so here's 20 backstage segments of Kane talking on the phone" level TV

Meltzer is reporting there's a "reason they find important" why this match is happening at WM. Heard it after they stick this dudes tailor-made for the battle royal on the actual Mania card.

-Show opens with Sting, whose gimmick is that he never talks, doing a 20 minute promo and getting interrupted by Stephanie because of course he did, and Sting said over and over that THIS IS NOT ABOUT WCW and Steph won't let him get a word in and this had to have been a shoot. Had to have been. Can we get Kayfabe Commentaries: This? Haha. "This is about justice. WCW died 15 years ago. This match won't he about WCW nostalgia at all, nope."

-Luke Harper and Stardust vs R-Truth and Dean Ambrose seemed like a regular match on Raw and not awkward at all. Daaaaamn. Don't even think Ambrose wasn't elevated in 2015 lol. Then the belt was stolen again.

-LL Cool J video package about Wrestlemania leads to a 10-man tag to "hype" a battle royal with Bill Simmons on commentary for some reason, then Hulk Hogan and Snoop Dogg beat the shit out of Hashtag Axelmania. :D

-Paige defended the title against Nikki Bella to hype a tag match on PPV

-Tyson was making romantic gestures to chicken fries.

I can't stop laughing long enough to keep typing. This show sounds like something special. :lol1: :lol1: :lol1:
