Raw Preview: Feb. 22, 2016
Time for Roman Reigns to Play The Game

With a victory over Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar in last night’s WWE Fastlane main event, Roman Reigns now looks ahead to his WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match against Triple H to headline WrestleMania. Will we see The Big Dog and The Cerebral Assassin collide tonight on Raw, live in Detroit? Plus, the WWE Universe anxiously awaits the history-making presentation of the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award.

1. Gunning for The Game
270_FAST_02212016mm_2073--9e5fee66cf38942bc2b4c30fd16e1afe.jpg

Roman Reigns conquered The Conqueror and even had to pin his best friend last night, but his greatest challenge lies just six weeks ahead at WrestleMania, where he’ll go one-on-one with The Game in The Show of Shows’ main event for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

The Big Dog has competed in the premiere bout at The Showcase of the Immortals before, but nothing can possibly prepare him for what The Cerebral Assassin has in store. Might The King of Kings drop some knowledge on his newly crowned challenger tonight in Detroit? If he does, we highly doubt Reigns will respect the throne.

2. WWE’s greatest honor

No one has deserved the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award … until now.

Tonight on Raw, an honor named after the founder of WWE and the father of Mr. McMahon will be presented to a worthy recipient. Who will achieve this award, and what effect will it have on the future of sports-entertainment as we know it? As the WWE Universe speculates on this prestigious award, one also has to wonder what type of impact the Vincent J. McMahon Legacy of Excellence Award will have on WWE as a whole. Amidst the questions, one thing is clear: The Road to WrestleMania changes drastically tonight.

3. What’s next for The Beast and The Lunatic?
263_FAST_02212016mm_2003--2469fd83ca28430d46fdf30b606eaabb.jpg

Dean Ambrose suffered the Spear and pinfall that punched Roman Reigns’ ticket to WrestleMania at WWE Fastlane, but if there was any victory attained by The Lunatic Fringe last night, it was that he took the monstrous Brock Lesnar out of commissionwith a well-timed steel chair attack during the final moments of their all-important Triple Threat Match.

The Beast Incarnate isn’t the kind of guy to take getting hit with metal furniture lightly, especially when it keeps him from the main event of The Show of Shows. If not Ambrose, someone’s going to be feeling The Beast’s fury on Raw.

Meanwhile, even as Ambrose faces potential destruction at the hands of The Conqueror, he must also live with the reality that his best friend denied him his WWE World Heavyweight Championship opportunity at WrestleMania. Will the brothers-in-arms address the conclusion of last night’s main event?

4. The Styles saga continues
aj_01--9b998029c70c769e801caaa2596fded1.jpg

If you’ve found yourself glued to WWE Network since last night, rewatching and analyzing AJ Styles and Chris Jericho’s intensely competitive WWE Fastlane rubber match, we certainly don’t blame you. Not only did Styles earn Jericho’s respect last night, but the bout silenced Styles’ critics who have claimed that The Phenomenal One doesn’t have what it takes to succeed in WWE.

What implications will Styles’ WWE Fastlane win have as WrestleMania draws ever closer? Furthermore, will Jericho reveal what’s going through his mind 24 hours after losing his third clash with the two-time IWGP Heavyweight Champion?

5. Is The Golden Truth a lie?
231_FAST_02212016rf_3149--51d78a498119e8eab0a3351fe9714cf1.jpg

Last night at WWE Fastlane, Goldust’s attempt to help his would-be tag team partner in his bout against Curtis Axel backfired in a big way — a mistake that could very well spell the end of The Golden Truth before it began.

Truth was visibly upset after The Bizarre One inadvertently helped Axel pick up a big win — a victory The Social Outcasts will never get tired of boasting about. Expect Goldust to try to make things right with Truth tonight, potentially while wearing a ridiculous costume (well, a bit more ridiculous than he normally dresses).

6. Divas-in-arms

Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch are hardly best friends, but based on their victory against Naomi and Tamina last night at WWE Fastlane, the oft-dueling Divas actually make a good team.

The Road to WrestleMania creates odd alliances, but it also breeds contention. Will this makeshift tandem stay united in the weeks leading up to The Show of Shows?

Don’t miss Raw at 8/7 C on USA Network, and be sure to tune in to Raw Pre-Show at 7:30 ET, only on the award-winning WWE Network.

WWE posted video showing Dean Ambrose being taken away in an ambulance after Brock Lesnar attacked him in the parking lot of the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit this evening. You can watch video of Ambrose being taken away on WWE’s official Facebook page and an updated RAW teaser for the two, who are believed to be wrestling each other at WrestleMania 32:

Dean Ambrose suffered the Spear and pinfall that punched Roman Reigns’ ticket to WrestleMania at WWE Fastlane, but if there was any victory attained by The Lunatic Fringe last night, it was that he took the monstrous Brock Lesnar out of commission with a well-timed steel chair attack during the final moments of their all-important Triple Threat Match.

The Beast Incarnate isn’t the kind of guy to take getting hit with metal furniture lightly, especially when it keeps him from the main event of The Show of Shows. So it’s no surprise that The Conqueror exacted his vengeance on Ambrose before Raw even began, ambushing The Lunatic Fringe in the arena parking lot and driving Ambrose through the windshield of a limo.

Ambrose has proven brutally difficult to put away, but after his harshest punishment yet at the hands of Lesnar, has The Lunatic Fringe finally suffered enough to keep him down for tonight’s WWE Raw?
