-WWEForums.net did a better job building up to the PPV than WWE did. We were discussing what unpredictable crap would happen, and that was the only thing interesting going into the PPV.

-WWEForums.net did a better job entertaining us during the PPV than WWE did. The discussion thread > this PPV.

-If WWE is actually doing a similar-looking injury angle a week after Jesse Sorenson legitimately broke his neck, Vince McMahon has a reseved place in hell. If legitimate, you injured your only legitimate contender for Punk's title in a really dumb spot that wasn't needed. How stupid can you be?

-I loved Punk in the Summer of Punk. Ever since, I haven't cared about him at all. His promos are entertaining, but as you guys said, the Superman booking is really holding him back. Faces are more entertaining when underdogs against a strongly booked heel, as Superman, they feel more like heels.

-This crowd made the Impact Zone look like MSG. But their interest in Santino is very interesting, and when the crowd is hot for something, you really get interested. Why not put the Santino in the WHC scene if the crowd will actually react to him?

-Your comedy relief jobber got the biggest pop of the night. Your top babyface got the most heat.

-Cena/Kane was incredibly lame. The F.U. off the Ambulance was pretty awesome, but a wheelchair? Really? Other than that, both of these guys are awful. SuperCena gets laid out and almost defeated, then gets up like nothing happens. Hulk Hogan is far better than Cena, and Hogan sucked. Nothing happened in this match or because of this match.

-You've hyped Rock and Cena for over a year, and there's no way that match can live up to the build unless Cena turns heel... But it's clearly obvious that Cena will overcome the odds yet again. They have given us no reason to believe that they can do anything else. And it's embarassing that last year's dark match is supposed to be a big draw for this year's Wrestlemania.

-There's only one thing at the moment that's more important than the WWE Championship, that's the Undertaker's streak. Why was this not the main event? (Other than the pods being broken in the Smackdown match)

-There were no surprising moments at all. Just standard operating procedure, the returns of Christian, Henry, and ADR were wasted doing something stupid instead of having the shocking moment that this show desperately needed.

-Fuck Big Show. I can defend some of the things that he does, but this was absolutely ridiculous.

-What draws interest and money to your product? Heat. You want to cheer for a guy going up against a menacing asshole that he just can't beat. That's why Santino got the pop he did. That's why the ratings peaked when Mark Henry won the title. But Dolph Ziggler is clearly being punished for something and only took bumps. Rhodes and Barrett looked like complete jackasses, Bryan looked like the joke Miz has for a long time, and Jericho has done absolutely nothing since returning. Book some damn heels to win strongly.

-Anyone can look good when you only have a minute to work. Both Beth Phoenix and Tamina have looked pretty good lately, but were exposed tonight as simply mediocre in terms of skill. Still better than most Divas.

-Jeff Hardy was a draw due to his suicidal offense and the high-spots he could pull. In the ring, he wasn't very good. He isn't very agile, and had a very small moveset. Why don't you try to push Justin Gabriel to fill that role, when he has the potential to be better than Jeff? Swagger's been a jobber for the past two years, that hasn't changed. Why put the belt on him to begin with? Put it on Kane if you wanted to do a Ryder injury angle, that would have made sense! And Nattie's farting angle better have some kind of point.

-Are we going to have a Johnny Ace vs. Teddy Long match at Wrestlemania?

-You expected us to pay 44.95 for 3 announced matches (divas' don't count)?

Hahaha! This was awesome!
But you should make your own thread on your review.
It would be better.

It would be, but didn't think it was a great idea to have everyone have their own separate review, clogging up this part of the forum. Maybe we should just have a huge post for everyone to do their separate reviews?

Raw EC: Decent match with a strange ending. Dolph really left it all in the ring and took the worst bumps. Punk winning was unexpected. Jericho being a non-factor due to injury was very odd.

Phoenix-Snuka: Best Divas match WWE has had in a while. Tamina got in some good offense and made a contest of it, but Beth is booked as the dominant Diva in WWE.

Smackdown EC: This match was substandard. The start plodded along due to the focus on Big Show, who, I swear, is actually getting slower with age. Wade Barrett and Cody Rhodes did their best to liven it up. The EC match is portrayed in WWE media as being a very dangerous place and a "career-shortening match", which makes it a very bad idea to introduce a comedic element into the thing. If you're trying to turn Santino into a serious wrestler, this is not the way to do it. While he's definitely talented, the WWE has spent the last few years treating him as a comedy figure. It's a nonsensical decision to try and change that character overnight into a serious, powerful competitor. Luckily, Barrett, Rhodes, and Daniel Bryan, who retained the title, kept it from being a thorough cluster-f**k.

Swagger-Gabriel: The US Title has one of the more prestigious histories of a pro wrestling title. It deserves better than an unannounced title defense born out of a scene with a "leprechaun" and Vickie Guerrero (most people think it deserves better than to be held by Jack Swagger, but I digress). If this is the best they can do for it, just deactivate it or unify it back with the IC Title. The match itself, though, wasn't bad for a 10 minute throwaway match. I wish Gabriel had won, if just to change things up a bit.

Cena-Kane: Oh, the hopes we had for this match. It was pretty obvious that Cena would win with Wrestlemania and the Rock in the on-deck circle, but how could he do it? Would Cena have to "embrace the hate" and become the destructive force foreshadowed by his facial expressions and promos and the destruction of Zack Ryder? Would Ryder appear and destroy (or at least attack) Cena in retaliation for "stealing his girlfriend"? Would Cena just admit that Kane was right and the crowd reactions were getting to him and turn on the crowd?

No, afraid not. Cena overcame hate and closed the door on Kane (and making his character interesting again), beating him and celebrating, all-smiles, in the ring afterward, proving that John Cena is a better human being than all of us.

Rating: 4/10. While I basically liked the Raw EC and Divas matches (and the US Title match was decent for what it was), the Smackdown EC and Cena-Kane blow-off really killed the show's momentum. The PPV was on the down side of average, a true disappointment given the high quality of most of their recent PPV production.
