I don't know anything about other sites - but if I can make a suggestion. If you wait like two weeks-three weeks before counting votes - you might get more votes in the first instance and only have to count them up once.

Also - are you using excel to calculate the results? Because that would save them, if you get what you consider 'late entries.'
