Rate the 25th Anniversary of Raw show and leave some comments to let us know what you thought of the show!

The results are partial until I catch up on the beginning of the show.

Opening

The show opened at the Manhattan Center with a quick comment by Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler before cutting to the Barclay Center. Stephanie McMahon and Shane McMahon were in the ring. They cut to a list of great Raw moments. They then invited Vince McMahon to ring. His kids called him hard of hearing. Vince told the crowd it was time to smell the roses and then he made as if to leave but was kept in the ring by them. They gave him a plaque and he called it cheap and said it wasn't surprising because he was in Brooklyn and they were cheap. He kept insulting the crowd until Stone Cold Steve Austion came to the ring.

Mr McMahon tried to keep Austin away by talking about him being a senior citizen. Austin ended up stunning Shane and then Vince handed Austin a beer. They celebrated and hugged and Vince made as if to leave. The music stopped playing and Vince looked scared, and Austin stunned him. Austin stunned Shane one more time too.

Absolution,Nia Jax and Alicia Fox vs Sasha Banks Bayley and Asuka and Mickie James

Nia Jax, Absolution and Alicia Fox won by submission. Asuka then turned on her team and tossed them all out of the ring.

Backstage

Jonathan Coachman came into Kurt Angle's office. He was joined by Harvey Whippleman, the Brooklyn Brawler, Teddy Long, Brother Love and finally the Boogeyman, who had worms with him and was eating and sharing them.

Undertaker

Back at the Manhattan Center, they played a compilation of Undertaker moments. His music then played in the style it did in early Raw. He was introduced by Howard Finkel and came to the ring. He talked about burying souls for 25 years and thrown them into the dark earth.

Backstage

The legends were playing poker backstage and were joined by the Million Dollar Man. Heath Slater asked to borrow some money.

General Managers

GM's of Raw were introduced, John Laurinaitis. William Regal and Eric Bischoff.

Daniel Bryan was then introduced as a special guest. As he was coming out, the Miz was introduced. Miz came out and he had a stare down with the Miz.

Intercontinental Championship Match: Champion Roman Reigns vs the Miz

The Miz became an 8 time Intercontinental Championship by beating Roman Reigns by pin fall.

Christian Peep Show

Christian's guests were Jason Jordan and Seth Rollins, who came to the ring. It wasn't long until the Bar came out to claim they would get their belt back. Cesaro told Jordan that Angle didn't suck, Jordan then. He then started a You Suck chant to Jordan in which the crowd joined in. Then a fight ensued. Rollins accidentally hit Jordan.

Backstage

Alexa Bliss was asked if she would be the champion come Wrestlemania and Alexa took offense to the question. Charlotte then came out and let Alexa know she was only champion because Charlotte is on Smackdown. Ric Flair then joined then and complimented Alexa but let her know Charlotte would be champion until retired. The two then wooed a lot.

Backstage

The poker game continued and Heath Slater thought he won, but Natalya beat him. Dana Brooke told Heath she crunched the numbers and he lost a lot of money.

Woken Matt Hardy vs Bray Wyatt at the Manhattan Center

This match was commentated on by Jim Ross and Jerry Lawler. Bray Wyatt defeated Matt Hardy by pin fall.

Raw Women

Great women in the history of Raw were introduced.

Backstage

Elias was walking around with his guitar and he crossed Chris Jericho who was playing guitar.

Elias

Elias was in the ring singing. He insulted the legends and the crowd. John Cena came out and after a few moments challenged Elias to fight him. Cena dominated Elias until hit a low blow and put his finisher on Cena.

Legends Poker Game

Heath Slater tried to start a fight, but JBL told him to leave. Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase had the most chips which prompted Farooq to comment "DAMN!"

Heath Slater and Rhyno vs Titus Worldwide

The match was thrown out when everyone started attacking each other. The Dudley Boyz came out and along with everyone, including Rhyno, put Heath through a table.

Backstage

AJ Styles was being interviewed but brought out Mean Gene Okerland to inteview him. He asked AJ about the handicap manager at the Rumble. AJ said "Well you know something Mean Gene" in a good Hulk Hogan impression. AJ insisted that he would not lose the belt.

DX

Shawn Michaels and Triple H came out and then invited the Road Dogg and X-Pac to come out. The crowd chanted 1 2 3. They then invited out Razor Ramon. The Balor Club then came out to the ring. DX put up the Too Sweet sign and the Balor Club joined them in it. Then the Revival came out as well.

The Club vs the Revival

The Club defeated the Revival by pin fall. After the match, the Club and DX celebrated together. DX then beat up the Revival when they challenged them. But they let Finn Balor do the last moment with his finisher.

Braun Strowman, Brock Lesnar and Kane

Kurt Angle came out and surrounded the ring with the rest of the roster. Then Lesnar came out and everyone got into a fight. Strowman at first dominated and he put Lesnar through an announce table.

What's that Slipknot song called? "The Negative One" right? Yeah...
Here I fucking go...

~ So...Scrooge McFuck & his annoying kids share a scene with a Man who
actually beat up his Wife during the time they were married...SKIP!!!

~ Okay...so I'm glad the booking team kind of mixed things up with this 4 on 4
tag match...but...isn't it the proven standard that whoever looks the strongest
going into a pay per view isn't going to get the win at the pay per view?

I'm mean I'm okay with that because I want Becky to win...but still...its interesting...

~ SKIP!

~ SKIP!

~ SKIP!

~ And the Miz is once again the Intercontinental Champion! AWESOME! Also...
seeing as the Plank of Wood is such a huge star...shouldn't this match have been
the main event? Oh...that's right...the WWE knows how people don't watch the third
hour and they need to get their "Chosen One" on TV while the ratings are at their
highest.

Its strange because you'd think if the Plank of Wood was a big enough star...the
fans would stick around to watch him wrestle wouldn't you?

~ SKIP!

~ Alexa Bliss can shut the fuck up because the Real Goddess Charlotte is on RAW
as is her Father...Wooo! Double Wooo!

And I agree...Alexa just doesn't have the wrestling ability...Full stop!

Also...just on a side note...Alexa has only wrestled one televised match since
Survivor Series and hasn't defended the RAW women's title since the 10th of
October. If she's injured WWE just take the title off her because there are
plenty of other women on RAW who would make much better champions
than Little Polly Pocket.

~ I...wait...Bray pins Matt Hardy clean...already? What?! Really?!

~ Wow...a Parade...whatever...

~ Hey its that guy from NJPW...Cool!

~ This entire Cena/Drifter angle is pointless because we know the Drifter is just
going to get buried at the end of it.

~ SKIP!

~ Wow...its a real shame to see how far Slater & Rhyno have fallen on RAW. They
were so good on SmackDown & now they just a couple of jobbers getting smacked
around by has-beens.

~ Okay...even I will admit its cool to see "Mean" Gene interview A.J...I'll give you that
one WWE.

~ SKIP!

~ And the Revival get shit on...this is just wrong WWE...just wrong...although
its good to see the Balor Club getting a win...can we get Finn vs. the Miz at
Wrestlemania for the Intercontinental title please WWE?

~ I'd like to think Braun will win the Universal title at the Rumble...but we
all know he won't.

And I'm done...

A solid show. I overslept so I didn't catch the beginning and had the IC match ending told to me before it happened. I probably may have rated it higher if that was a surprise. Anyhow a 7 of 10, which is the best rating a go home Raw show has gotten from me in a while.

They really didn't do a whole lot with the legends until the DX segment and Austin. But it was never boring and I enjoyed most of it.

Lip sync battle? Man who thought he lost all respect for wrestling loses the little bit of respect he didn't know he still had.

I love how the WWE can shovel out a bunch of nostalgic
crap & everyone eats it up & asks for seconds...

Let's take a real look at this show and exactly what it meant...

~ So to start with we get a segment straight from the late 90's
when the WWE was actually compelling television where a
convicted woman beater shows up and does his finishing move
a few times.

Everyone here knows or remembers that this guy physically
attacked his wife right?

Does no one care about that?

Why do wrestling fans turn a blind eye to this?

~ The women's stuff was fine as it actually built towards their
Rumble match on a Rumble go home show.

Made sense really...

~ Most of the backstage segments didn't really mean anything
or serve a purpose...so I'm not going to cover all of them...but
honestly...why would anyone care?

~ The Undertaker shows up...and why? Can someone explain
to me what he was actually saying with this promo?

~ The Miz won back the I.C title...which was great...but if they
were simply going to give it back to the Miz...then why put it
on the Plank of Wood in the 1st place...also...where were
Seth Rollins & Jason Jordan during this match? Unless the
WWE finally realized this whole Shield Reunion farce is better
left forgotten...much like the steroid allegations leveled at the
Plank of Wood.

Is the Miz defending the I.C title at the Rumble? I mean...the
U.S title match was moved to SmackDown last week & I doubt
we'll be seeing a Cruiserweight title match either...so there is
space on the card now right?

~ So...serious question...why even have this Bliss/Flairs promo
segment? This should have happened before Survivor Series...
but of course it couldn't because the WWE had to scramble and
switch titles 2 weeks before the event because they realized
nobody wanted to watch Alexa vs. Natalya or Brock vs. Jinder.

What was the point of this?

~ Why is Bray Wyatt pinning Matt Hardy clean? Why did this
match even happen? Someone explain this to me please.

~ So we get all these "former" female WWE superstars...and
they simply have them in a parade? Why not have a backstage
segment between Alexa & Trish? Or even Mickie & Trish?

Why not do something interesting with these ladies instead of
an unfunny poker game involving a bunch of jobbers & has-beens.

~ I will admit...it was cool to see Jericho...is he going to be in
the Rumble? Does anyone know that?

~ The Elias/Cena feud is only happening because Samoa Joe
is injured...but its still a bad idea. It will simply be another CenaWinslol
moment.

Oh and also...if the Undertaker is indeed going to fight Cena at
Wrestlemania...then you know...why not start building towards it
on this show? Just saying...

~ I'm just going to say this whole next tag team segment was a
complete waste of time.

~ Ugh...so next we have a bunch of assholes who have all seen
better days (& the Balor Club) shitting all over the Revival.

Why? Why have these old has-beens bury the newer talent?

Why WWE? FUCKING WHY?! ANSWER ME YOU FUCKS!!!

~ And the show ends with another pointless Brock/Braun/Kane
segment...and I say its pointless because EVERYBODY knows
that Brock isn't dropping the title & Kane is simply there to take
the pin.

So seriously...someone...anyone here explain to me how this
was a positive show?

I'm waiting...

it was fun for what it was, I mean they basically told you in advance that it was going to be a nostalgia show and they basically just did that. It's just the internet that always takes things out of fucking proportion. For example, all they said was that Taker and Cena were gonna make an appearance.. and the internet just went ahead and took this as a "Taker vs Cena confirmed" and now they're disappointed that it didn't happen. The company never promised anything with this show, besides the celebration of their silver anniversary.
  • Besides that, I loved the Manhattan Center arena (looked really cool) and I also loved how they switched between both of them without making it seem like overkill.
  • Vince is the best performer he ever signed lmao. Look at this man baiting out his own son and then pouring beer all over him for no real reason, that shit had me dying.
  • Reigns vs Miz was cool, Reigns really ate that turnbuckle, I didn't expect that at all. Miz now won the IC title on both Raw 1000 and the 25th years of Raw special. So good job to the Miz for being the perfect midcarder since 2012.. I guess.
  • Asuka taking everyone out after their match was great and suits her character perfectly. Loved that the crowd reacted to it so well too, but it might just mean that they did it now so they don't have to do it on Sunday, which is a bummer because I really want her to win the Rumble.
  • The Club and Kliq moment was.. well.. 2sweet. Shame that the Revival had the shit end of the stick in this situation but at least Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson got to catch a W for once.
  • so I guess they're replacing Joe with Elias for the time being, so that Cena has something to do up until Mania. Not really high on Samson but if he can have a good match with Cena, that might change.
  • the ending to the show was normal stuff as usual, Strowman kicks ass and people love it lol.
All in all, pretty cool stuff. I just couldn't help but compare it to Raw's 20th birthday back in 2013, which was a fairly normal show with a couple legends in the mix, and be amazed at how well they built around this "25 years" theme this time around

We kinda knew it was going to be a nostalgia-heavy episode, but overall it was done fairly well and at least some of the main Rumble storylines got advancement.

Just, my complaints are that, especially after the IC title match, it all just felt rushed. Bray vs WOKEN Matt Hardy went super short, the tag match between Slater/Rhyno and Titus WORLD-WIIIIIDE basically ended with a brawl as we got back from commercial and the only segment that went long in the latter half of the show was the DX reunion, which...How many DX reunions have we had so far? Not to mention the Revival did get buried.

BUT, I will say that, compared to the Ascension, this is at least salvageable, since they at least lost a match to current guys and some of DX are at least wrestling part-time in WWE or elsewhere(Triple H, Billy Gunn, and X-Pac) and the reunion at least put over a modern stable in Balor Club.

From a standpoint of someone watching at home, this was pretty alright, with a lot of the backstage segments being entertaining as hell (Jericho putting Elias on the list again and the APA Poker segments were some of my favs) just the wrestling other than the Women's match and the IC title match was minimal.

6/10 For a tribute episode it was good, but just not this for an average episode of Raw.

  • The Opening (with The McMahons & Austin): Good way to open the show.
  • The 8 Women Tag Team match: Decent...I guess.
  • But Asuka turning on her teammates and tossing them over the top rope: Priceless
  • Backstage segment #1: Decent enough.
  • The Undertaker comes to the ring: Decent. Same ol' sh!t, different year.
  • Backstage segment #2: Good and funny.
  • GM Roll Call: Decent. Not really special.
  • DB & The Miz have a staredown: Ok?!?? Not sure what that's supposed to mean.
  • The Miz vs Roman Reigns: Not too bad. We all knew Roman was losing that title soon.
  • Backstage segment #3: Good. More legends and superstars around the poker table.
  • Christian's Peep Show (with Rollins & Jordan and The Bar): Good...but only because Sheamus and Cesaro called out that jackass named Jason Jordan. And Seth hit Jason with a flying knee "accidently".
  • Backstage segment #4: Great. I enjoyed Charlotte standing over Alexa and when Ric walked over too. WOOOOOOO!!
  • Backstage segment #5: Good and still funny. Dana crunched those numbers and Heath, "You've lost a lot oof money."
  • Bray Wyatt vs # WOKEN Matt Hardy: Boring. And so Bray wins now, so he can lose later?? The cycle continues.
  • Female Legends Roll Call: Decent. I wish they had the female legends do a few backstage spots.
  • Backstage segment #6: GREAT!! Possibly the greatest part of the night. Jericho turned the tables on Elias by disrespecting him and even adding him to the list, and Elias took it all as he went out to the ring.
  • Elias vs John Cena: Decent. It started with singing a song involving Jimmy Fallon, Brooklyn and John Cena. Then Cena came out, they fought, Elias cheated and won. The end.
  • Backstage segment #7: Very good. Heath couldn't get a win...without cheating which he got caught by Titus Worldwide. And The Million Dollar Man won the pot...DAMN!!
  • Backstage segment #8: Very good segment between Mark Henry and The Godfather.
  • Titus Worldwide vs Slater & Rhyno: Decent for what it was, which was an excuse to have The Dudley Boyz come down, do their moves and use a table.
  • Backstage segment #9: Good but AJ Styles do a brief Hogan impression to Mean Gene Okerlund, incredible!!
  • Another DX Reunion: Good...for what it was. DX came out doing what DX does.
  • The Club vs The Revival: Decent. Another short match made for an excuse to squash some guys.
  • Braun Strowman, Kane & Brock Lesnar come down to the ring: Weak. As. F**k!! This was not only weak but the weakest and stupidest closing to this monumental occassion. WWE had Lesnar attack both Kane & Braun to end being put through the announcer's table by Braun?? Again??

This show lose a few points because of such a weak ass end to a good show IMO, so I rated it a 6.
