Rate this edition of Smackdown Live and praise the Indian and Japanese Gods that Jacob Fox is making the superior rate thread and is all around sexier than a Power Ranger

Opening

Jinder Mahal came out with an entourage to celebrate an Indian holiday. He was interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura who told Mahal that he would take the title.

Becky Lynch vs Natalya

Natalya won by submission

Chad Gable vs Rusev

Match was thrown out by count out and Rusev attacked Gable and put him in the accolade. Orton came out of nowhere and RKO'd Rusev.

AJ Apologizes to Shane McMahon

Shane McMahon told AJ the kick from the previous week was an accident. AJ asked Shane, man to man, if he would use that as an excuse to screw AJ. He told AJ he wouldn't, but if AJ touched him that it could be a different story. AJ took it as a threat.

Kevin Owens then came out. He told Shane that if he comes in contact with him in a match that it would be an accident. He told Shane he knew that he would call the match down the middle and that in a fair fight, he would win the US title. Shane refused the handshake, calling it inappropriate and told him to shake Aj's hand... the two began bickering. KO accidentally hit Shane McMahon. KO got freaked out and left the ring.

Usos vs New Day

Usos won by pin fall

John Cena vs Jinder Mahal

The match was thrown out when Baron Corbin attacked Cena. Then, Baron Corbin cashed in his Money in the Bank contract.

WWE Championship Match: Baron Corbin vs Champion Jinder Mahal

Jinder Mahal retained his title by pinfall.

Atleast I don't fail harder than Baron Corbin.

I liked this show. I mean, it wasn't anything special again. It moved at an even pace.

I take away points for Becky Lynch tapping out. I did NOT like that. But I have to add points for that ending WOW... Baron Corbin cashed in and got pinned right away. I like Corbin, I really do and would have liked to watch him win the belt.. but damn, the excitement of the cash in plus the him losing... it was amazing and I enjoyed it.

.....This is why I should take over the rate threads.

You're welcome to a rate thread whenever you want. Just tell me before the show if you want to do it and you can. I'm just obsessive compulsive about it and write them as the show goes along. I do them to make like easier for the rest of the staff since I'm the only one who religiously watches the shows. But you're more than welcome to do some whenever you want. Yours are entertaining.

This week on the Becky & Charlotte show...

and I first have to state that I am well aware that Ric Flair is currently
in hospital and understand fully if Charlotte is not on tonight's show...
or at SummerSlam.

Family comes first...before anything else.

Get well soon Ric...

I do want to state that is a real shame that both Becky & Charlotte appear
to be missing out on a SummerSlam match and this brings to an end another
impressive pay per view streak for Charlotte as she has wrestled something
like 25 consecutive pay per views (including before and during the brand split).

Okay...with that out of the way...let's see how the SmackDown SummerSlam
Go Home show went...and hopefully they don't just give us a bunch of matches
already booked on the SummerSlam card.

~ So the opening segment was okay I guess...no complaints...

~ Okay...so I HATE seeing Becky lose...especially when she is forced to
tap out...but it was important for Natalya to have some momentum going
into Sunday and thankfully they didn't just book Natalya vs. Naomi in a
non-title match.

Naomi hasn't really impressed me as the Champion...and Carmella is not ready...
so this Sunday...I hope Natalya wins clean and actually gets to keep the title for
longer than 3 minutes.

WWE should pull a swerve and have Carmella cash in during the Banks/Bliss
match instead and have Carmella move to RAW to run with heel Cass.

Oh...and Ellsworth can go fuck a porcupine...I'm sick of his face...

~ So...Lana is going to manage/be a valet for Tamina? Okay...I still think
its pointless. Call up Peyton & Billie already!!!

~ I'm glad Chad Gable is getting some match/TV time...

~ I really hope Rusev defeats Orton at SummerSlam...but knowing the WWE...
Rusev will just be jobbed out again.

~ I think the Styles/Owens feud was fine without Shane being involved...
Just saying.

~ Ugh...SmackDown couldn't help it could they...Usos vs. New Day...SKIP!!!

~ I don't get the Fashion Files...SKIP!!!

~ Okay...so I honestly thought they would book a tag team match...Mahal & Corbin
vs. Cena & Nakamura...but we get Mahal vs. Cena...

And Corbin is cashing in?!

And he fails?!

Really?!

*Checks*

Really?!

But why? Why waste the briefcase like that? I don't...understand...I...I...
can someone explain to me why this was a good idea?

I guess Carmella will be cashing in at SummerSlam then.

I'm done...I could go on and on about how bad this cash in attempt was...but I'm
not going to...

Do you know why?

Because Sasha is wrestling for the RAW women's title at SummerSlam.

:shovel:= Baron Corbins career

If they have Cena go over at Summerslam then that's the final nail in the coffin

Having Corbin waste the briefcase like this was just moronic.

Of course I think Corbin failing is kinda sad, but I also think it's kinda funny

Look on the bright side, now Shinsuke vs Mahal will be better, since it goes from Shinsuke definitely winning with a BC cash in to who knows. Like Shinsuke will probably win, but who knows

3rd. Cena and Sandow
Wow...I wasn't aware that Cena failed to cash in...
I did miss A LOT in my years away from the WWE.

True...but I'm just sick of the Singh Brothers sticking
their noses in.

I honestly hope Nakamura wins the World title...
Owens retains the US title...and then they can
start building towards Styles vs. Nakamura for
the big prize.

Better sooner rather than later...

Also...and this is just a thought...but there was a rumor
of another "Superstar Shake Up" happening soon.

Corbin & Cena both move to RAW to feud with Reigns
while Strowman and Big Cass move to SmackDown?

I mean if nothing else a feud with Reigns would help
Corbin just as much as it did Strowman...and you know
a Reigns vs. Cena match has to happen at Wrestkemania
before Cena retires.

Just thinking out loud...

They really should throw the belt on Shinsuke. Mahal winning was a nice little pop and unexpected but they really are at the end of the line creatively with the guy. The Singh Brothers are like J&J Secuirty with Seth Rollins titles reign, they just ruin every single match to the point where u know it's gonna happen in every main event. Yeah I guess it's supposed to get heat in Mahal, but the dude is a monster and shouldn't be booked like such a pussy all the time. Just like how Rollins is a phenomenal wrestler, one of the best in WWE, and shouldn't be getting help from J&J every single match. Smackdown has been only a steady decline ever since Randy won the title.
