Caught a bit of the Heyman promo. It was sh***y.
You need to have higher standards when it comes to promos.
Things like that makes me wish I was just a casual fan. Being an invested fan means it's in you to over analyze just about every segment, or match. You assess it and think about the effects of it. Heyman's promo served it's purpose, it sold Lesnar as a legitimate, beast of a champion. It doesn't have to be this complex, wordy promo to be considered good. It was simple, yet it got all of Heyman's points across.

Using money as a valid argument is only convenient when you say so.
You're the same guy who labels us as materialistic because we care about the bells and whistles.
Suddenly, Orton is valid in your eyes because he brings in money.
By your admission, you live at home and have no job, That suits you, yet Orton set the bar because he draws in money?

Yuu contradict yourself so much, that you're eating your own a**hole buddy. Even a dog thinks you chase your own tail too much.
why the fuck should i care about money, i am not running a big business. wwe run a company that needs to make cash readies, so orton is the man for the job

you lot are material, you go out your way to buy the latest video game, and get your fancy degree, and what for? i am comfortable in my own skin, i know i am smart and good looking, so how that for a game of toy shoulders

I think it was pretty boring. How many times can he run down Brock's recent booking? Earth to Paul: We remember his booking well. He only shows up like 8 times a year, how could we forget?

Heyman's promo was shite. I can't believe you were entertained by that hogwash.
I expect three hour shows to be better. There are plenty of people, including yourself, who could book the dumb sh** better.

lol First Savage is shit on the mic, now Heyman, too... who next?

I mean, yeah, Heyman's promo was mostly the same type of promo that he's given before, but what else do you expect him to say? Brock Lesnar just destroyed and conquered John Cena, of course he's gonna brag once more about how what a dominant force Brock is. But when it comes to great promos, it's almost never the actual written dialogue that makes it so great. It's HOW you say it, how well you articulate it, how you present it, etc. The Rock's insults are a great example of this. They were pretty childish most of the time, and calling someone a "big pile of monkey crap" is hardly a creative put-down, but The Rock had a talent for making almost anything he said funny.

David Simon, creator of The Wire, once said something similar about two actors in particular that were part of the cast of The Wire... He talked about how they were so captivating with the way they said dialogue that they could have read you off their grocery list and it would have sounded interesting. In fact, this is an ability that all great actors have, and I find Heyman is magical in that same way when it comes to giving promos.

When you get down to it, most promos, just like most matches, are the same. They're very formulaic and if you've seen or heard a few of them, then you've probably seen or heard at least half of 'em or more.

How so?

Also, wouldn't buys be up if fans were buying into the product?

Actually in late 2013 the entire spotlight was on Orton (Sales were down) and Barrett and Cena along with Orton were running in 2010 (sales were up)

The circumstances were different. Edge was in the main evnet, Cena and Barrett was the actual story behind his match. In late 2013 the spotlight was completely on Orton.

lol I have no idea what I was saying last night, you win. :haha:

You actually sound like a real person. Is this the real you?

Let me get back to you on that one. I'll find another hero whom you all adore and be overcritical of his mic work.
Heyman is best when he's shooting. Any other time he's merely spouting off what WWE tells him. It isn't impressive, I won't act like it is.
I'm not blaming Heyman. I just don't dig his work lately.
