And here I was, foolish me, being I was celebrating my 42nd birthday this past Monday, thinking I'd get a treat from WWE but...nope. Granted, we did get a rare (nowadays) appearance from the boss himself Vince but he was only out there to introduce HHH and Stephanie (what was the point of that, anyway?) so even that didn't matter. At the end of the day, it was yet another boring show with very few possitives to talk about, which makes a 2/10 in my view a more then generous rating. Notes/thoughts:
- Already touched upon this but why was Vince even out there to begin with? He mostly looked like a plant we use for decoration, not to mention mostly disinterested and bored...
- As for the major announcement itself, well, we all know WWE love them firsts so no surprise they keep coming up with these new concepts/ideas. Nothing wrong there, don't get me wrong, and this particular case is one we should applaud but here's a concept for ya: how about creative being actually...creative for a change, give us some interesting storylines, stop wasting talent left and right and make this show great again; yes, pun intended...
Apollo Crews, Fashion Police (mostly Tyler Breeze), Ty Dilinger, the Revival, AOP, Cesaro, Chad Gable, just to name a few, all great talent basically wasted because...why? And do I really need to go through the entire woman's disaster...uh..I mean division?
- In typical WWE 50-50 booking, Roman gets his win back over Lashley and yet another shot at the Universal strap. The match was great, sure, but this entire storyline with Roman and Brock is just outright boring (not to mention pathetic) so at least I'm hopeful our misery will end(?) at Summerslam. Granted, Roman winning won't make things any better but I guess the possitive side of it would be that we could finally move on.
- For those talking about a possible lesbian storyline for Sasha and Bailey, hate to break it to you, but...this ain't the attitude era anymore. In a day and age of people all around being all super sensitive and/or easily offended, do you actually think such a storyline would fly or even be considered?
I think it's rather obvious what they are setting up and all you have to do is remember that Sasha has a move called...the back stabber, which is exactly what is going to happen, most likely being saved for this Revolution PPV. You can...Bank on that...
