WWE is more about in-ring ability now than ever before.. Characters don't mean much anymore, most of the wacky characters get buried anyways.
Eh, I will agree with that somewhat about WWE cares about in-ring ability because if they truly did then Asuka would be Smackdown's Champion, instead of Carmella, and be in a feud with Becky Lynch, a match many people would want to see at Summerlsam. I would agree NXT is like more so about in-ring talent than Raw or Smackdown, but they haven't done a good job at that either but bette rthen Raw and Smackdown. You are right wacky characters do get buried in WWE just look at The Wyatt Family, Broken/Woken Matt, Sanity, and a couple others. Wacky characters work great in the Indies because people understand the joke behind it like Space Monkey, Pizza Cat, and a couple others as a post-modern take on the wacky characters of the 80s and 90s even.

In all fairness, can't really say this show was as bad as previous weeks so gave it a 5/10 for some good in ring work alongside the effort to make things interesting in the build towards Summerslam.

However, while I can applaud the idea to give some of the matches meaning, such as in the case of the two triple threats leading into next weeks one on one number one contenders match between the two winners, the fact it was so predictable kind of took away all the lust out if it. Anyway, as expected we shall have a showdown between Reigns and Lashley for a chance to face Brock at Summerslam for the universal championship and one must wonder: does Roman get his win back and yet another title opportunity or do they surprise us by having Lashley win?

Normally, you'd have to consider Roman winning a lock, however I wouldn't rush to make that call, considering WWE are obviously high on Lashley and I'm pretty sure they don't want to "beat him" just yet (at least not clean, for that matte), which is why I am leaning more towards some dusty finish, albeit a double count out while both are brawling on the outside or by perhaps having somebody interfere, making it a more "protected" loss for whomever gets pinned, if that's the case. And in case you're wondering why someone would interfere, my thinking is that it could set up something for Summerslam for the loser of this particular match, whether it be Roman or Bobby.

Elsewhere, I'd say turn Roode heel already, set up the damn grudge match between Sasha and Bailey and how about we get us a good old tornado tag team championship for the RAW straps, elimination style? Like, inject some life in this otherwise dead division....

Yeah, like AJ Styles.. Who's been champion forever for being a great worker.
AJ has a character. Ember dont

That was exactly my point I was making. AJ's character is boring and somewhat generic to me, but the guy can put on a show in the ring and has dedication to this Performance Art.
He has a personality and character. Plus years of perfecting his craft. Ember is just a finisher.

Didn't say he didn't have a personality nor character, I said I just find the character boring for it is no different then the other "I am the best wrestler" gimmick like Jericho or Punk. I literally said he has been perfecting craft, so thanks I guess for repeating it. Ember has about 11 or so years of experience under her belt. I mean I won't disagree with that, but that is on WWE not so much on her to some extent.

Telling you why Ember is not worthy to be champ. AJ is because he has a character. Ember is boring af and has nothing going for her rn. You can't just be good at wrestling to be champion. Can't think of any champion who didn't have a character.

Unless ember has a character. But I'm completely missing it.

I Wouldn't Say Your Entirely Wrong, But I Think Ember Deserves A Big Push. If Your As Good As Ember Is (See Her Match With Asuka At Takeover Brooklyn III If You Want Proof), You Deserve The Championship.

But, That's Just My Opinion.

AJ's character is literally "I am the best here. This is my show. This is the house that AJ Styles built. I don't tolerate politics (what happened with his reign during the Shane/DB/Owens/Zayn feud) nor do I tolerate mind games from dicks (his feud with Shin). That's the best character tbh, somebody who just wants to be the best and win championships

It's pretty much taking everything I have to keep watching WWE at this point. If they carry on this stupid Constable Corbin shit much longer, I'm completely done with Raw. I don't watch television to be frustrated and annoyed by stupid and aggravating crap like that.

Also, I'm not even a Ronda Rousey fan, but at least she's a freaking athlete and not some low talented bimbo who is only champion to give Vince a hard on. So, the other thing is that if Ronda Rousey doesn't kill Alexa Bliss at Summerslam, I may have to stop watching WWE altogether. If Carmella AND Alexa walk out of Summerslam with their belts, I am done. There's only so much crapping on women's wrestling I can deal with before I realize the only thing to do is quit watching it.

I spend like 5-9 hours a week on WWE. If they can't give a product that entertains me, there is a LOT more wrestling out there that will fill the 5-9 hours with happiness and not constant irritation and frustration.

He also has a weakness, which makes him a good character. He is a hothead, which is what Nakamura detected and tried to exploit. He is too emotional and gets carried away. For example him in a burst of anger he put his title in jeopardy by setting up a handicap match for the title between him and Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn. He overcomes this weakness because of his work ethic and world class wrestling ability.

People say AJ is champ cuz he is a great wrestler. That is true. But he is also champ cuz he has a real solid character. Styles is an example of a babyface done right. Roman Reigns on the over hand...

Even Bobby Lashley. While there should be more emphasis on the giant part, I can see the "respecful giant family man who'll kick your ass" as a character.

Character wise I don't understand what they're doing with Roman besides what the sig says. Can someone fill me in? I ain't going back to watch Reigns promos lmao

I can't tell you the problem with Roman. Right now he is being booked as a cry baby sore loser who cannot deal with failure. We all know Roman Reigns motives. Roman has failed trying to achieve his goal. Instead of having a babyface response to failure he has been heelish. They are trying to get him over as cool heel. But it isn't working because he moans. They all trying to portray him as the wrestling workhorse in a contrast to Brock Lesnar. That is true but people ain't buying it for some reason.
