6/10 for me, it was ridiculously underwhelming to me
The tag match was awesome, but some of the spots reminded me way too much about UE vs Burch & Lorchan. I get that B&L and MM have very similar styles, and that last match was amazing, but it really stood out to me. I also thought the towel spot went on way to long, in my mind it would've been more unique if Seven used the towel like a rope to pull Bate towards the corner. The bright side is that this match made me completely turn around on Strong, I now really like him. That knee in the end was beautiful.
Dream vs EC3 has been a bad feud. It's been the worst Dream feud so far, and it made EC3 look like such a nerd to me. His entrance were he (the face) was singing to his (bad) song while the crowd was completely silent was cringey to me. I can see him being in the Bobby Roode role on the main roster, which is sad considering the fact that he's EC3, but if he's a nerd in NXT what will that make him on the main roster? The match itself was fine, the finish was cool, but overall the match was unmemorable and fine.
The North American Championship match... the best way I can explain it is that it was good, hell, it was great even, but it wasn't special. It was an awesome match, but it won't go "Down to the annals of history" like Mauro said. As down as that may sound, this was actually my match of the night, but I don't know how well that reflects on the rest of the show. There were a lot of excellent sequences here, but this time next year nobody will remember any of them.
I give the Women's Championship props for being the match that made me say "I've seen this before" the least. Shayna's brutality was awesome, I loved commentary mentioning the MYC and how "But Shayna is a different woman to the woman Sane beat!" The finish was also great, an elbow reversed into a choke reversed in to a pin that actually works. I love how Sane managed to be aggressive and lovable at the same time, that was awesome.
Hated the main event. Nearly everything that happened we've seen before from these two, the double table spot really took away from the match, since some cool spots like the DDT on the wood (again), the triple Project Ciampa (hated that spot btw, really devalued the finisher to me), and the Fairy Tale Ending onto the steps were false finishes that you wouldn't believe were finishes because they didn't do the table spot yet. The table spot itself was lame. My favorite moment was the barricade scene, Johnny accidentally taking out a crew member, that amazing barricade break, and Ciampa burying Johnny, it was all awesome. The ending was also awesome, Ciampa begging for mercy and Johnny giving him none, just attacking, and attacking, and attacking... then the idiot knocked himself out. That ending was so underwhelming and down right bad. Also, props to Ciampa and selling really well, because Johnny Cena sold the entire match. Remember Cena's count out sell? 1-8 he's completely down, 9 he jumps up and sprints into the ring as if he wasn't actually hurt. Johnny did that all match. He's down, he stay down, and stays down, and stays down, and stay do- AND HE'S UP. Didn't like this match at all.
