So here we are at the aftermath of a "Wrestlemania-like PPV" LOL, like come on guys, did we expect much change considering how WWE have been ignoring their most important issues?? Was it all supposed to be spectacular and the best it could be after some many failed PPV's this year alone??
So I went in, expecting a cluster-f*ck and bullsh!t results and guess what??........................YEP it all was bad, well maybe not all but most of it was a tragedy on top of a tragedy, a sh!t sandwich if you will.
Kickoff match: Elias vs Apollo Crews, so I wanted Apollo to make his comeback with a PPV victory and WWE disappointed on this. SO WHY KEEP USING HIM?? Another example of a superstar with a lot of talent wasted due to poor booking/writing. Elias won the match which I don't care how over this weirdo is with the WWE Universe/fans, I still don't like this dude and his simple work (the out of tune singing, drab lyrics, one move he possess or am I wrong??). And what the hell is the deal?? Is he a heel or a face?? If he's a heel then why are some people calling him a face, because he sings?? And if he's a "face" then why is his song gimmick is to insult the city/state/country or wherever he is??
Match 1: The Miz vs Jason Jordan, I prayed that they steer Jason Jordan away from winning the Intercontinental title as well as someone like The Miz who has been having the most interestingly, BEST year in WWE amongst any other superstar (don't believe me?? FITE ME!! Lol.). Anyways, my prayers were answered (at least, this time....) when The Miz got the win and retained the title He even had 2!! Yes, 2 promos throughout the night (his best talent especially as heel). Jason Jordan tried to cut some wimpy bullsh!t ass promo about "Miz, you the one who suck!!" ...........
Match 2: Finn Balor vs Bray Wyatt, Ok so the obvious better wrestler (at least IMO) was Finn (since he built on the mystique of being great) but even greater as The Demon King. I can't stand Bray or even the belief that he's this evil God-like being who defeats any and all he choose to. WWE screwed up this guy's track record in regular matches as well as big matches so I can't say I was surprised that Finn won this one.....again. However, I did feel like it was missing something different to the match (and no, not another interruption by Erick or Luke or some other new Wyatt member) perhaps a controversial win for Finn or better yet, Bray would have worked so much better.
Match 3: Sheamus & Cesaro vs Rollins & Ambrose, I expected the champs Rollins & Ambrose to just hold on to the title awhile longer in this "story" and sure enough they did. Just like everybody else, this was the most interesting of matches because each wrestler gave their all (even with my boredom towards Dean Ambrose). The match even came at the expense of Cesaro's 2 front teeth but he still put on a great match all the way through and that man deserves so much more. WTH, WWE??
Match 4: Fatal 5-Way for Raw's Women Championship, how do you f*ck up a match like this for the Raw's women division?? I mean come on stop being so freakin' predictable with the wins. And what's the deal with continuing this whole Alexa Bliss, Goddess sh!t?? The woman is decent on the mic and decent in the ring but we're supposed to sold on the fact that she's the best there is?? Cut the bullsh!t and move that title to Nia already, you know you want to WWE!! I assume the Emma fans aren't too happy neither even though all the women put up a nice fight, nothing too great about this one.
Match 5: John Cena vs Roman Reigns, well with the news already showing that John would be gone for a short period of time after this PPV I knew he was more than likely going to lose this match. I love the common sense on this one to allow Roman Reigns to get the win over the biggest face in the business today, John Cena but I WAS THE ONE WHO SAID IT'S TOO EARLY FOR THIS MATCH!! I didn't like WWE's idea to rush into doing this match but I could understand the logic in making it happen before Cena finally retires. So I didn't expect a whole lot of hoop blah over it being super amazing, I mean ffs we're not that close to Mania. What I enjoyed about this match is, it didn't have to tell a major story becuase it was simple, 2 men fighting for supremacy so they could end the unanswered questions of "what if" or "who would win" or "who's better". Both men went out there just trying to one up each other, again nothing to extravagant but they pushed each other a bit and Reigns got the victory (hopefully not the last one). I mean for me this is a repeat of The Rock vs Cena IN THE SENSE that one guy has to prove that he's the best to move to the future of the business and the other guy needs to prove that he's still the best even if he's leaving the business. Not the best job from either one of these guys but not too bad IMO.
Match 6: Enzo Amore vs Neville, just an utterly waste of a match for a PPV because the story was quite lame to begin with and the fact that it instant became a title match from Enzo being transferred, was simply ridiculous. I mean we're talking about a guy who does some of the best work on the work and maybe down the line he'll be a great manager for someone but in the ring...................it's hard to watch at times. The match did give Enzo a chance to show that he's working on a few tricks, however Neville did what he does best which is demolishing his opponents. And by how things were going week after week before No Mercy, I knew Enzo was going to win one of two ways (especially with Neville being so cocky and arrogant about facing him): either Enzo was going for some type of dirty pin or a low blow behind the ref's back for the victory. Sure enough, he went for the kick after the distraction he created and Enzo Amore became the new......you know what let's just skip this.
Match 7: Braun Strowman vs Brock Lesnar, I knew the weeks of building this match was a fake out espcially since the news that Brock was leaving after the last PPV was extinguished. For weeks, Braun had got the better of Brock and for that fanbase they all thrived on this monster destroying The Beast. However, Brock did the same thing with Goldberg (after losing to him in humiliating fashion) and he did the same with Samoa Joe. I just couldn't understand having him getting pummeled over and over again, and him not having a victory in this match. WWE once again did a great job, having Braun "DESTROY" Brock for quite awhile and then Brock got the opportunity to hit a few German Suplexes after using his Kimora Lock to help weaken The Monster Amongst Men. And finally, Brock hit a hard F5 to close the victory which okay yes they could have made him do more back and forth with their finishers. But I doubt this feud is over so I'm sure the next time is gonna be way more vicious and Braun might get that win.
All in all, nothing great about No Mercy and it was predictable so I rated it a 4.5 just for the few good highlights that were there.
