My personal thoughts with my signature scale.

WOMEN'S MONEY IN THE BANK LADDER MATCH
442063234665807873.png

While not the most amazing MITB match, this got the show off to a good start. The winner was great with Bayley and while the match's only memorable spot was the Eclipse off the ladder, the ending was great with a "double swerve" if you will of an injured Carmella coming out, then Sonya nearly helped Mandy win, then Bayley won. Bayley's really been repaired since coming to Smackdown and especially after tonight.

WWE UNITED STATES CHAMPIONSHIP

I have a feeling this match was cut short due to Joe's injury. It was kinda lame, but the angle afterwards helped Joe get heat back and kinda made him like a badass, and Rey also completes the last title in his trophy case so to speak.

STEEL CAGE MATCH
379017426093867009.png

There was some rough spots of this match like Miz's rough Frog Splash, the rope break in a Cage match, but other than that, it fit the story well at least of Shane being a cowardly heel. But, the match didn't blow me away.

WWE CRUISERWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP
442063234665807873.png

And this is why you have Cruiserweight title matches on the main show. Good showing from Davari and Nese with some good back and forth, and I was satisfied.
RAW WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
379017426093867009.png

Went short because it fit the story, but Lacey was a bit... sloppy in this match with a rough move I couldn't tell if it was a bad Springboard Cutter or a failed Sliced Bread #2, and a rough landing off the dropkick. But the right person won, and Lacey's entrance/character I like.
SMACKDOWN WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
379017426093867009.png

Once again, another match that went short but was wrestled far more compitently than the first. The Lacey interference at least progresses that feud on Raw and gives Charlotte a needed dirty win (except her "Big Boot" at the end missed by a mile). But it was all forgiven with
Bayley's Cash-In
444879150994554880.png
+ :bayley:

The beat down from Charlotte and her long lost Sister lead to a Bayley save and Cash in which was a great feel good moment. Bayley's move to Smackdown has really saved her career. Here's hoping she isn't booked like she was on Raw!
ROMAN VS ELIAS
379017426093867009.png

As a match, it was just one move really, but I give it extra points for the stuff beforehand. Illogical for Elias to not just say "Hey Ref, start the count" before going with his Rock concert, but it at least made me laugh. With Elias breaking out an electric to beating a dead whale with getting that classic heat by mentioning the Hartford Whalers are in Carolina now as the Hurricanes, and ending by saying "I love none of you," Mwah. Lovely. Then of course, the Big Dog came out and won.
WWE UNIVERSAL CHAMPIONSHIP
515255907152560138.png

Maybe not Gargano/Cole or WALTER/Pete Dunne, but this was a freaking amazing match and I'm giving it the Beav Meltzer approved Sylveon. Which is not the same as a Five Star from Dave, but still highly praisable. The two did a great job building the match up and going full tilt with several great counters as the became more and more familiar, and left me happy.
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
442063242840244244.png

While it had to follow the Universal Title match, I mean... Lars killing Mexicans, it was exactly what it needed to be and built well with KO targetting the back and having a couple of nice near-falls/drama. Minus the weirdness of Kevin Owens taking off Kofi's shoes...for a Swanton, was probably the second best match of the night.
MEN'S MONEY IN THE BANK BEFORE THE ENDING
442063242840244244.png

Was nearing a Sylveon. JESUS Everyone was killing each other. Table spots, Baron choke slamming people and throwing people, Finn Balor nearly launching himself into the scoreboard after getting power bombed onto a ladder, just a sample of what everyone was putting themselves through. Michael Cole sounding genuinely shocked at how much these guys were killing each other. Then...

MEN'S MONEY IN THE BANK'S ENDING
473234722961620993.png

Look... Don't call me a Smark for saying this... But I am tired of Brock Lesnar. I am genuinely tired of Brock Lesnar at this point. I get that kayfabe wise, someone had to replace Sami. But after back to back years of someone failing to cash in the Men's Money in the Bank, it was about time they use it to establish someone new, a potential new star. Baron Corbin, for how... much I am bored of him, at least it would have built off him retiring Kurt. Ricochet, a fast high-flying star who could be an underdog challenger, Andrade "Cien" Almas, could have been a top heel after cashing in and be on his way to being your new Latin American star after Rey retires, Mustafa Ali even could have been different, Randy Orton... RKO's outta nowhere are fun, Finn Balor coulda been like RVD, IC Champ and Mr MITB, Drew McIntyre, could have finally become "The Chosen One!"

All of them nearly killed themselves and you give it to Brock Lesnar. This isn't heel heat with me. This is "I am tired of this," heat. Maybe WWE doesn't have Star power because WWE hasn't really taken as many chances on people as they should? Maybe it is because when they have taken a chance on anyone aside from The Shield and maybe one or two others, it's been in positions where they can't win. Maybe it is because you are letting people 50 years old and not on the roster most the time main event your biggest shows against other people who are 50+ years old and about to retire or have retired?

Normy scale 6/10 and it is me being generous since AJ vs Seth was THAT GOOD, and it had a couple of other solid matches and a great moment with Bayley, but that ending was genuine... poop.

*Rates sad*

Brock is the best. Hes the biggest heel of this modern corporate era of WWE. Hes the only wrestler in the business that can make it feel like a shoot. I have also noticed that recently late in his career that he is really using his facial expression and body language in a big way in the ring like he never has before. What a performer, he is worth every penny.

Why not just announce Brock Lesnar will be in the MITB match before the PPV?

Anyway that is a good surprise for me, I haven't watched the full ppv yet. I can imagine lots of people being angry with this decision, but I think it's fine... I mean Brock now has a briefcase and is not holding a title "hostage". Yes, that means he will win a title after he makes his cash-in. Maybe that is what the new belt is for, it will be the WWE BROCK LESNAR CHAMPIONSHIP.

Why not just announce Brock Lesnar will be in the MITB match before the PPV?

Because that would be too much work for him and risk injury for him. NAH instead we will let our wrestlers that are paid less nearly kill themselves and bust their asses for about 18 minutes and then Brock Lesnar will come in unannounced, win the briefcase which traditionally is more meant to establish a new star or propel someone who hasn't been in the main event much into that position. All while we have wrestlers who apparently have low morale bust their asses in order "get noticed," and likely won't be walking right for the next week. At least they have solid, amazing health insurance... Oh right, fuck.

the good things about this PPV are basically the last 3 matches for me. Styles vs Rollins, Owens vs Kofi & the men's MITB ladder match were all very enjoyable. Brock winning doesn't really annoy me as much as it does other people. It's those twists and turns that can make wrestling as wild as it is and on top of that, Brock's a guy who could show up and cash in at the most random time, as proven by last night, and cause a commotion. I was rooting for Drew but I still marked out when Lesnar came out.

The biggest gripe I had with this PPV was everything involving the women. I expected Bayley to win the briefcase, but I kinda thought they'd wait for a moment where it would question Bayley's babyface moral a bit. After all, MITB is still a bit of a heelish concept. I almost wanted Becky to barely win both matches, just so Bayley could be cold-blooded about it and cash in on her anyways or maybe wait a couple months until a beloved babyface takes the title off of Charlotte for Bayley to then cash in. Now they just kinda repeated what they did last year and changed nothing about it. Bayley's still the same old Bayley, you know?

It's also quite irritating how Becky shrugged her match with Lacey off like it was a match on Raw. I feel like Lacey should've done more damage in that first match to really make Becky look like a weakened opponent for Charlotte instead of having to help Flair win later on, which makes no sense to me. They're not even a team lol. The way these 3 put their matches together just looked like they're going through the motions without putting much thought into it. Kinda disappointing angle all around

Women’s ladder match: all the girls made it SOOOO obvious they were waiting for spots. Looking especially at you Carmella on that leg injury spot. Bayley winning was meh at best.

Speaking of Bayley, why fight Charlotte and Lacey when Becky was already down and out. She should’ve made an easy cash in on Becky and have her leave empty handed.

Shout out to Randy Orton for still being awesome.

Lesnar: who cares/10

Nothing else really stood out to me. Hit the FF button a lot.

Ohhh....one more thing. Strowman saying, “Fine, whatever man” to HHH might’ve been the lamest thing I’ve ever seen.
