Literally the best summary of this show. It was filler. That shouldn't have to ever be said about a PPV.
Thanks...and being a comic/manga reader...nothing is worse than a "Filler Issue"

Well...at least Emma was on the kickoff show...

Like...that's the only moment I really cared about...and Sasha roasting Alexa on
RAW Talk was great...shame their match couldn't have a "proper" finish.

I doubt the questionable Pride joke was needed in the vote, but regardless this PPV was 10/10.

Straight FIYAAAAAAH.

I'm not surprised to see so many people here bashing it. That's your lot in life, I get it.

Maybe it's not having low standards as much as would rather enjoy what you're seeing because no matter how much complaining is done, ultimately things will probably not change for quite sometime. Just my thought on that.

A fair call...but...I'm not going to lie to myself and enjoy
something that is, in my opinion, sub-par and booked terribly.

Well. This was something, wasn't it?

Note, I'm an overly cynical asshole as you all know. Five years and counting.

I was reading reports about this that Tama Tonga and many people in New Japan were really pissed off at Jim Ross and Josh Barnett over their lazy commentary at the great G1 Special. I remembered that quite a bit while watching Seth Rollins vs Bray Wyatt, and remembering a lot of the things WWE does, and how they take the product SO SERIOUSLY over there that they're going to get upset over lackluster commentary... holy cow I can't imagine what it's like to be in WWE. But anyway, WWE is such a character-based company as it compares to New Japan, and these guys have had so much damage that despite the good action you could only enjoy it or believe in the outcomes so much... Then when Bray Wyatt got an 85% clean win over Seth Rollins I just fast forwarded to the two top matches because fuck this company. :cornette:

So, Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman know how to get people talking, don't they? Haha. Match was fine, postmatch angle was awesome, yadda yadda none of that matters because people are talking about the "double-turn", which... isn't happening the way you want it. I'll still look at things like how much Strowman's been playing to the crowd, used an actually over catchphrase and comes across as this shockingly entertaining cartoon zombie of a human being no selling chair shots and roaring in peoples' faces... GOOD STUFF. I don't just think it's the Roman hate that puts Strowman over as a babyface, he's doing a good job of it on his own.

As for Roman... brought my sig back. He'll be the same alignment-confused asshole we all know and not even love to hate.

So, I enjoy Lesnar more than most these days it feels like.. and this match with Joe was really interesting, wasn't it? Liked it. And while... A lot of people crap on the finish, I really liked the visual of Lesnar in his last bit of consciousness powering out of the Clutch to deliver one clutch F-5 for the win. That was SO COOL. And it's weird how in a 6-minute match, Joe still came across as this big, dominant force that Lesnar had to power through and overcome. BROCK FUCKING LESNAR. The dude who survived a Spear/Jackhammer to give Goldberg his first clean loss. The guy who ended the Streak. The guy who suplexed Cena all the way down to the midcard. The guy who's built up in storyline as this super-God among men was bowing barely consciously to Samoa Joe, so I'd say that makes Joe look pretty good, right??

So yeah, good stuff

But I mean, the guy is still raking in millions every year. Sure complain all you want. Some things could change. But I'm sure he sees it as "whatever, what's a few thousand fans in the grand scheme of things?"

Cass and Enzo was exactly what it should've been. The crowd loves Enzo, and the heat for Cass pressing him over the rope was HUGE. These boys are gonna make big money together this summer.

That 30 minute iron man match was goddamn spectacular storytelling. And omg .... Matt was totally broken there. I'm not hoping/expecting him to go fully Broken in WWE, but if they wanted to they could use the beating he took last night to sell it. His nose was busted. They went hard in the paint out there. All four men should be commended.

For every whining little kid demanding the Attitude Era, (I'm sure there are a few of you here) I actually watched it when it aired. WWE's product today is vastly superior, but the ambulance match was TOTAL Attitude Era. The big cinematic pretape deal with the ambulance? Might as well have been the time that Austin tried to murder Triple H by dropping his car from a forklift. So bad ass.

Joe vs Brock was the hard hitting war it needed to be. Brock came out there to work, and it showed. That goddamn uranage through the table was a great way to set the tone. I love that Brock barely got the F5 in, but one F5 is enough to do it.

11 out of 10.

Reigns attempted murder.

Still a face I think. I can't call anyone a tweener you are either face or heel, there have been many faces attempting murders so Vince can get someone to cheer for the guy but it ain't working.

-Austin tried to kill Triple H
-DX tried to kill Vince many times
-Randy Orton technically killed a camera man burning Bray's house down
-Mankind could of killed The Rock with that forklift
-Randy orton also tried to kill Paul Bearer

Watched a bit of a recap. Sounds like the matches were good but no story telling took place to a greater extent. While I am glad there were good matches, what is the point of having a good match if it doesn't make you feel something for the story or the wrestlers? I don't know, maybe I am being a bit of a pessimist here. For a B rated PPV, I would say it deserves a 7... But since I don't grade PPVs like that and consider them all equal opportunity shows, I give it a 4. Sometimes change is a good thing, Vince.

I always show up here knowing I'll be amused by the level of bitching that you people do, and you do not disappoint.

Great Balls of Fire was a good show overall. 7/10

Skipped Alexa Bliss vs Sasha Banks because I had no interest in it whatsoever.

Now, onto the things I watched:

- Neville vs Akira Tozawa was good. ★★★¼
This should've been on the main card. With more time and no commercials to ruin the flow of the match, this would've been much better if it was on the main card. Still a good match, though. And Neville retained, as he should, even though the finish was a little bit flat.

- Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins was solid. ★★½
Eh, this was solid, but unspectacular. It lacked fire and I just had no interest in it. I guess Wyatt needed to win here so WWE can pretend he still matters, but I just can't care about this feud.

- Big Cass vs Enzo Amore was decent. ★★
Enzo's pre-match promo was good. As for the match, it was exactly what it needed to be. Cass won in a dominant fashion and Enzo showed he won't give up. Also, Cass' new theme is so meh.

- Cesaro & Sheamus vs The Hardy Boyz was pretty good. ★★★½
Even though the match had its problems, both teams worked their asses off and delivered a fun match. I was a bit surprised, but happy to see Cesaro & Sheamus retain the titles, considering there's a rumor floating around Sheamus will be taking time off to film a movie. Anyways, good match.

- The Miz vs Dean Ambrose was solid. ★★½
Same as Wyatt vs Rollins. Solid, but unspectacular. It's really hard to care about this feud. As for the match, it was average. It felt like a match they would do on RAW. The crowd wasn't particularly invested, the match had no fire and of course, the interference finish. Oh, well. At least The Miz retained and hopefully the feud is over. Both guys desperately need new opponents.

- Braun Strowman vs Roman Reigns was very good and MOTN. ★★★¾
Braun and Roman are great together, they have a great chemistry. And once again, they did not disappoint. The match was brutal and hard-hitting and enjoyable. The finish worked, as they allowed Strowman to win, while also protecting Reigns, which was expected. Oh, and the post-match angle was great. So, was that an official double turn or what? If it indeed was, then great. It was about time they turned Roman.

- Brock Lesnar vs Samoa Joe was amusing enough. ★★★
I would've preferred a bit longer match, since this was considered a dream match for a lot of folks and the build-up was good, but hey, the match was still fun enough for the time it was given. Joe looked good even in defeat, so no real complaints here. I liked this main event.
