Wait, why did Neville go over Barrett? I get that they book Barrett like a clown, but seriously? Barrett was booked to compete with DB to get his IC belt back right? A match that will still presumably take place at some point in the future? Meaning Barrett is still, at least by WWE standards, involved somewhat in a storyline. You would think they would try to make him look strong over Neville, who loses no credibility by losing, he has no credibility.

They shouldn't try to rush to push Neville, especially over guys who need wins right now, and for Barrett I 100% mean NEED. Dude still has top heel potential but they treat him like a joke. Guys like Neville fresh to the main roster don't need to be collecting Ws on the reg.

He isn't, IIRC. His only win on the main roster so far was via DQ.

I haven't watched the Pre-show, I probably will at some point.
Overall it was a decent PPV, none of the matches sucked. Cena Vs Rusev was probably my least favourite match, kind of zoned out after a while.

I... surprisingly... half agree and half disagree with this. (meaning the solution is "don't book the match".)

Neville should not be jobbing to Barrett. The entire point of the IC Title reign Wade had was to bury him and the belt to the point where the likes of R-Truth were believable champions. Barrett lost every single match except maybe one, he lost after losing the belt, all he does is lose, lose, lose. Yes, Barrett was booked to face DB, but that's just because of the rematch clause. You don't have to make Neville this huge star right away, but him jobbing to someone who's been painted so much as a loser is a big no-no.

As for the Agree part? If I was to pick one of these two to push to the moon right now...... it would be Barrett. :blackshock: How many faces are WWE trying to spotlight and get over right now? Orton. Cena. Ambrose. Reigns. (kinda-sorta) Ziggler. Bryan when he comes back. Add Neville to the mix now, and you've got a bunch of guys to spotlight against a heel group of... Sheamus... We can still count Rollins as credible... Rusev for another month... Maybe Luke Harper? They need Barrett in the worst way possible.

Here's the other thing: I cancelled my Network (again) and didn't want to watch this show in large part because it had a "Kiss me Arse" match on it, and I'm sure I'm not the only one... just for them to use the stipulation in the worst way possible. Yay, Ziggler kinda got a win... woo

.

He started out the gate with a win over Curtis Axel, then lost to Rollins, then won against Curtis again, then lost vs Dolph and then won with Dolph against Sheamus & BNB.

so he's 4-2 with the match at ER.

I wouldn't say he's collecting mad wins fresh out the gate, it's been an okay start for him so far, nothing too worrisome.

My bad, kind of forgot that I don't bother with Raw and Smackdown every week.

Neville also has a win over Sheamus on SD, but that was actually a DQ win, dunno if it should count, doe.

So, technically, his score would be 5-2, right?

We may have very different views on Neville

I know he was well liked an successful in NXT, but lets liken it to jumping from the NCAA to NFL, most rookies aren't ready to make a huge impact right way. He doesn't new pushed right away, he can take Ls and it won't matter. I realize WB is a loser, that is the frustration. He shouldn't be. Especially to the Nevilles on the roster. I don't see anything impactful coming from neville on the main roster

True, idk I didn't count it but yeah I guess 5-2 is more accurate of his record seeing as the scorekeepers count DQs on the statsheets.

I thought it was a pretty good PPV. Not great, but not bad or boring either, just somewhere in the middle of the spectrum as far as quality is concerned.

The first half started out great with Ambrose and Harper having a brawl so crazy and out of control that it spilled onto the streets of Chicago inside a moving vehicle (I thought they should have waited longer than they did before having them come back to the arena... I would have them return only right before the main event, ala Piper vs Goldust at WM12, but I digress) and a Tag Title match that was pretty exciting to watch, but the second half brought the show down a little quality-wise with boring matches like the Russian Chain match and the Steel Cage match (the latter of which I expected a lot more from, but ended up being so average.) The Last Man Standing match was better than I postulated it would be at least. Big Show is actually pretty awesome when they book him as a legitimate monster who's not only hard to put down but to keep down. It gets annoying seeing someone his size always job cleanly after only being hit once with someone's finisher. I like that Reigns had to throw almost everything but the kitchen sink at him before he finally stayed down.

Reigns stole the show. He's been awesome at every ppv so far now. 6/10 overall, 8/10 for Reigns/Show match.

This was good, I'd say. I think I'll just stop watching Raw altogether (already have for 3 weeks or so) and just watch the PPVs. It has less filler and the stupid booking is somewhat outshined by good performances on long matches other than 5-minute Fandango matches or 30-minute opening promos or whatever. Anyway, the Harper/Ambrose deal was cool, I enjoyed the creativity with them leaving and did some solid stuff in the ring. Sheamus/Ziggler was a fine match, but boy did the post match annoy me. Ziggler looked liked the biggest goof ever, winning the match but still having to kiss the dude's butt. Plus it's just like "oh hey about that stip, yeah forget it.". I don't like throwing stips away like this, although Sheamus did play a fine heel. Makes no sense. Cesaro/Kidd vs New Day was a good tag match, liked it all really, and it's cool that they're investing in this heel New Day thing, it may work (it's somewhat over already with the chants and all). Chain match was boring. Skipped divas, don't regret it. Almost skipped Show/Reigns but Stop stopped me from doing it (hah) and I'm glad, it was a fun match. I think they did more stuff than they had to, although that's not all bad. I would've ended it with the Spear or would've had Roman hit the spear and drop the table on him before Show got up, but it's nitpicking. Rollins vs Orton, lol. The match was OK, nothing special, but good old hurr durr let's have massive interference in this cage match and why not have the focus of this main event on 2015 PPV BE KANE just keeps bringing to mind how bad this booking is. The deal with Seth hitting the RKO and the announcers being in doubt whether it was illegal or not was a good plot point, but ONLY that one spot.

May, yes, but if you dismiss our WWE hatred, take the two of us as pure marks and just look completely at what we think of the talent, and had us watch a show that ended with Neville vs Bo Dallas, Barrett vs Golddust, and Brock Lesnar killing somebody in the last hour... we'd both agree that that's a damn fine hour of wrestling, no?

From a booker's standpoint I see them as having the same amount of potential, they're guys who bring something to the table that appeals to certain parts of the fanbase yet nobody really minds seeing. The way they've treated Barrett is only hurting themselves and all those stupid losses suck, but I'd be more than happy to just send Erick Rowan out there to let WB pick up a W, then let a Barrett on a hot streak beat Neville when both guys mean more.

Remember saying before he debuted that Zayn and Owens are the only wrestlers with any chance whatsoever of doing anything on the main roster. I'll add Balor to that, and while I've been happy with Neville and his booking so far... prove it, WWE
