Elimination Chamber was a pretty good show overall. 7/10
- Mickie James vs Becky Lynch was a good show opener. ★★★
It was paced well, with both ladies looking good and having some nice action. But, I feel the booking should've gone the other way around. I mean, that finish with Becky stealing the win surprised me. I wasn't expecting Mickie to lose her first singles match on PPV, I was expecting her to steal the win and then have Becky get her revenge later on. But, oh well.
- Apollo Crews & Kalisto vs Dolph Ziggler was decent. ★★
Technically, there was nothing wrong with this match, but it didn't really do anything for anyone. Crews and Kalisto are pretty much a get-nowhere superstars at this point, so Ziggler could've pinned them clean. Here's why: The crowd chanted for Ziggler post-match when he got his heat back by attacking both guys. Especially when he Pillmanized Crews' ankles to the chants of "ONE MORE TIME!" followed by "THANK YOU, ZIGGLER!". It's obvious the crowd doesn't care about Kalisto and Crews and rightfully so, so they might have as well given DZ a clean win since he's supposed to be getting a push now.
- American Alpha vs The Usos vs Heath Slater & Rhyno vs Breezango vs The Vaudevillains vs The Ascension was decent. ★★
The tag scene has been forgotten about since Wyatts lost the titles and this was obviously WWE's attempt to get some attention on the division by booking this kind of match, and I was looking forward to it, but it was simply lackluster. It felt really long and the match had no real drama until The Ascension came out to dethrone already beat up champs. This might've been better off by just having Alpha vs Usos. Glad AA retained, though. Hopefully The Revival debut on SmackDown, so they can hit the reset button on the division.
- Nikki Bella vs Natalya was totally skippable and the only stinker on the show. ★½
So, a double count-out finish? Meh. Why, why would they continue this deplorable feud? Should've been Nikki winning and ending it for good. And considering this was supposed to be a personal feud, where was the fire and the aggression in the match? It was rather lifeless.
- Randy Orton vs Luke Harper was very good. ★★★¾
The match started out slow, but once it got going, I loved it. It was the best thing on the show at this point. Both guys put on a good effort and looked good. Orton won with an RKO, of course, but Harper looked good even in defeat. He's very talented and can work with anyone, and hopefully they start utilizing him more.
- Naomi vs Alexa Bliss was good. ★★★
Talk about a pleasant surprise, I liked both the match and the title change. Both ladies worked well and complemented each other's styles. No complaints about this one.
- Bray Wyatt vs AJ Styles vs John Cena vs The Miz vs Dean Ambrose vs Baron Corbin was a great ME. ★★★★
First off, I like the new Chamber. Looks like a much safer working environment now. As for the match, it was 35 minutes long, but it never felt slow and I was never bored, not even once. It was paced well and we got awesome stuff from Styles and Cena once again, Ambrose/Corbin was really well done and set up the IC title feud, The Miz was great, mocking DB once again and I loved him picking up a win over Ambrose in a good heel way. And last, but not least, Wyatt killed it tonight. He looked good and put on a good performance, especially when he was in the ring with Cena and Styles. Even though this push should've come a helluva lot sooner, the dude looked like a player. All in all, this was a great way to close out the show.
