I've only seen clips here and there, but just by looking at the show, there's a huge improvement than ALL IN as far as production, ring and stage designs look. More visually appealing than anything WWE has put out in the last decade.

And I have a huge WWE bias too, but the way everything kinda played out, I have hopes for AEW to be something special. I just hope they go away with the whole compete with WWE niche. I hated when TNA did that, it's just corny.

I can agree that they need to tone it down. Like on their YouTube show they do make tongue in cheek jabs at things WWE and common criticisms like WWE extending contracts of wrestlers who want out, and when Kenny joined joked that they were "just a t-shirt company," and that is fine since the show has a light-hearted lense. But the joke about "Rounding up attendance" was probably the farthest they should have gone. The throne thing was excessive for having to "make a statement" against WWE.

Although I say try to seek out the whole show if you can. As you can tell by the ratings, it's pretty well received and I hope they do continue this momentum.

We know nothing about AEW.
It was their first show.
They have not aired nationally yet.
Just sit back and enjoy the ride.
We will see what happens with this promotion.

One interesting note here is that you aren't pinning Moxley now. So, with Kenny Omega already being 0-1, 0-2 after Fight For the Fallen, what if he loses another match at All Out, and Omega comes to TNT on a losing streak?

Double Or Nothing Viewing Notes...GO!

~ National Anthem...with Pyro!
~ Opening promo is short & sweet...the Casino theme is cool...
~ Its good old JR!
~ How does that commentator see anything with that mask on?
~ A card run down...Nice.
~ The ring looks smaller than a WWE ring...
~ The red lights on the crowd are strange...won't that effect
the audience's vision?
~ The ring announcer could sound a little clearer...
~ JR likes the fact he can name the officials...HA!
~ Is Fight For The Fallen another AEW pay per view? Nice...
~ I like how they changed the ring mat after the Rhodes
family bloodbath...
~ I actually like how the card feels like a natural progression
of escalation & stakes...not just all the matches in a random
order...
~ So I like JR but he doesn't seem as...sharp as he was a
few years ago...

+ SCU vs. Strong Hearts +
~ Interesting to see the AEW have a connection to China...
that is a smart business move. If the AEW can get over in
China...that is a huge win...
~ The arena staircases are in a strange spot...
~ Nice shotgun dropkick in the corner from Frankie Kazarian...
~ I can imagine Christopher Daniels would have been pretty
amazing in his younger days...
~ Nice two man pin attempt by Frankie Kazarian
~ And SCU get the win with that assisted tombstone piledriver...
~ And we get a nicely edited highlights package...

~ Yay! Allie is here! And look at that dress! & that glorious
Power Girl-like boob window! This pay per view gets a 9 out
of 10 from me just for that!

~ Oh hey...its @Grunt Beavie 's new favorite Kylie Ray. She's like
Bayley X Dakota Kai...& that's pretty sweet...
~ Now tell me if I'm wrong but isn't Nyla Rose a transgender
performer? I think I read that somewhere...
~ And Doctor Britt Baker is a dentist? Does that mean I can
test my mouth on her?
~ Brandi Rhodes...looking good as always. Did any of you guys
see her "leaked" photos? They were pretty impressive...
~ Kylie Rae never stops smiling does she?
~ And...AWESOME KONG IS HERE?! HOLY SHIT! That's cool!

+ The Women's Fatal Four Way +
~ I'm supposed to be taking notes but I'm actually enjoying
the match too much...
~ Nyla Rose should not be on the top rope...
~ A Double suplex/Powerbomb combo off the top rope! Nicely
done ladies...
~ A "Thrust" Kick? Its a superkick isn't it?
~ Spear into the steps!
~ We don't need so many shots of Brandi guys...she isn't in
the match...
~ Awesome deadlift German suplex by Kylie Rae!
~ And Britt Baker gets the win...even if that final move
looked a little botched to my eyes...unless its meant to
look like that?

~ Jericho!

+ Best Friends vs. Jack Evans & Angelico +
~ Man...I bet @Jacob Fox loved this match...look at all the
sexy men in the ring...
~ Angelico looks like he's ready to go scuba diving...
~ There is a lot of neon puke yellow in this match...
~ Does anyone else think Angelico looks like a taller,
"cleaner" Jon Moxley?
~ "TAKE YOUR SHIRT OFF!" yells that one guy in the crowd...
~ But...he just kicked out of the falcon arrow?
~ I prefer it when Bayley & Sasha hug...
~ These two teams have talent...but their overall chemistry
seems a little off...
~ And the Best Friends get the victory...& a group hug...
what's with all the hugging?
~ BLACKOUT! And then a bunch of people show up & there is
a massive beatdown...but don't know who any of these are.

~ ALL OUT on August 31st? Sounds good to me...
~ I want an AEW suit jacket...

~ Oh look...Japanese women! This must be that @Seto "Wet
Dream" match I heard about...HA!
~ We have Riho, Ryo Mizunami & Hikaru Shida on one side
& on the other side we have Yuka Sakazaki (Genie Girl),
Emi Sakura (as Freddie Mercury?) & Aja Kong...
~ Has Aja Kong ever fought Awesome Kong? Kong v. Kong HA!

+ The Women's 3 on 3 Tag Match +
~ I love how that Japanese ladies appear so animated &
make so much noise...it makes the wrestling seem more...
alive & passionate...
~ Wow...Riho could "spin around" me any time...HA!
~ GENIE GIRL is in the ring!
~ Matrix Escape by Riho!
~ The Surfboard!
~ Oh No! Someone protect Riho from Aja Kong!
~ A Piledriver?! NO!
~ SPEAR!
~ 6:19!
~ OH GOD! KEEP AJA AWAY FROM RIHO PLEASE!!!
~ So...this referee is pretty easily distracted...
~ CAN TO THE HEAD!
~ The crowd are singing Queen...Nice!
~ FUCK YOU! NAH FUCK YOU! NAH FUCK YOU! NAH FUCK YOU!
~ Double Suplex by Aja Kong!
~ Oh Wow...Genie Girl is a "Rope Walker"
~ Top rope Moonsault! Not by Charlotte for once!
~ And...Oh dear...there has been a mix up...& that
is pretty poor form on the first ever AEW pay per view...
~ RUNNING KNEE STRIKE! by Hikaru Shida for the proper
3 count! That was a lot of fun apart from that one flub...
~ Riho & Yuka Sakazaki were my favorites!

+ Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes +
~ Pre-Match Cody vs. Dustin hype package...with country
music? Okay...
~ Is the Rhodes family allowed to use the Rhodes name?
~ That is a weird looking chair...I wonder of a dragon
will show up to melt it?
~ And Brandi Rhodes has changed outfits...and she looks
great as always...
~ So...he hit a chair with a sledgehammer? I don't get it?
~ You just know Cody never needed the WWE to be a star...
~ And I have to admit its so amazing for Dustin Rhodes to
even be here...
~ Can they use the term "Atttiude Era"? Wouldn't the WWE
have that trademarked?
~ Is that Earl Hebner? How old is he now?!
~ This certainly is Awesome...
~ Too many performers do suicide dives these days...
~ The crowd is HYPED UP for this match...
~ Yeah...take a walk...& a drink...
~ And Brandi is getting involved...& that's lame...get her out of here!
~ Dustin looks to be in great shape...
~ And Brandi gets involved again...
~ HA! Brandi Rhodes hits a Spear! Are you serious? That
would be like getting speared by a spring lamb!
~ And Brandi is gone! GOOD!
~ HA! DDP is here...I've always liked DDP...
~ And I see some blood...I'm guessing Dustin Bladed
during the distraction...
~ Earl Hebner seems to be counting really fast...
~ Curb Stomp!
~ Figure Four!
~ So...Dustin has lost a lot blood so far...might want to keep an eye on that...
~ HA! Cody was bare ass for a second...Calm down @Jacob Fox
~ A RED CODE RED!
~ And crowd is on fire!
~ And this match is getting really ugly now...ugly...but epic...
~ And Cody gets the win...
~ And now we get a highlights package...and a post match promo
that really put the icing on the cake. What a match...

~ I actually missed the pre-show so these battle royal highlights
are good to see...& Hangman Page scored the win...
~ Hello Jack Whitehall...
~ Bret Hart is here?! Nice! Wait...Earl Hebnar is here to...HA!
~ And Hangman Page is out here...as is MJF...& Jungle Boy?
Okay...& now Jimmy Havoc...okay...can we get back to the
wrestling now?
~ Oh & the AEW Championship belt looks pretty sweet...I
mean its already off to a better start than the Universal title
because the crowd aren't booing it...

+ The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros for the AAA Tag Team titles +
~ Fenix & Pentagon as such great performers...I'm a big fan of both of them...
~ So the Young Bucks are dressed as Elvis tonight?
~ The referee actually cut an in-ring promo...
~ Wow...that was a cool series of counters...
~ Fenix & Pentagon are looking sharp as a razor...
~ I have to be honest & say the Young Bucks have yet to impress me...
not just in this match...but in every appearance I've seen them...
~ Fenix has more spring in his step than anyone I've ever seen...
~ Stereo Sharpshooters!
~ Double Destroyers!
~ Near fall after near fall after near fall...
~ And the Young Bucks get the win...& the could run the highlights
package for 10 minutes...

+ Jericho vs. Omega II +
~ Pre-match hype package...
~ Now I just want to say for the record I found Jericho vs. Omega I
good but highly overrated by other fans...
~ Nice entrance by Jericho...and thankfully he's wearing long tights...
~ Why did Omega cut his hair? His hair was his best feature...
~ What the fuck was with that cracker barrel?
~ Jericho hasn't looked this good physically in years...
~ Ring the Bell!
~ Into the crowd!
~ Jericho has a camera...
~ Jericho had to retie his bootlace...
~ Lots of Chops...
~ More blood...
~ Get the table!
~ Man...Kenny can fly when he wants to...
~ They were up on that top rope for a long time...
~ And that table finally broke...
~ Those dragon suplexes are brutal...
~ And Jericho defeats Omega with a back elbow out of nowhere? Okay...
I guess they are 1 win a piece now...when is the third match happening?
~ I actually enjoyed this match more then their first encounter...

~ Heel Jericho is actually really entertaining...
~ Oh Wow...Jon Moxley did show up...& the crowd is going ape shit!
~ Moxley actually looks excited to be here...
~ Moxley & Omega fighting through the crowd! And the fans are on fire!
~ And the event ends with Moxley standing tall...which is pretty cool.+

+ My Personal Highlights +
~ Frankie Kazarian...
~ Allie (in that dress) Yummy!
~ Kylie Rae being cute as a button...
~ Awesome Kong!
~ Neon Puke Yellow...
~ Riho & Yuka Sakazaki...
~ Cody vs. Dustin Rhodes...
~ The Young Bucks vs. The Lucha Bros...
~ Jericho vs. Omega II
~ Jon Moxley showing up...

+ Final Thoughts +
So..I honestly found this event a little too long (& that is without the pre-show)
BUT apart from that it was great. The wrestling was at a high quality across
the board, Cody vs. Dustin was a classic, the Japanese ladies were fun (with
some being incredibly cute), Allie looked stunning, Jericho/Omega II was better
than their first encounter (IMO) & Jon Moxley showing up felt like one giant
middle finger to the WWE.

Now for the record I am not jumping on the AEW bandwagon full time...BUT let
me just say I will continue to watch their future events (when I can) while I will
not be watching any of the WWE main roster product.

I think that is all I really need to say.

9 Out Of 10

It felt great to watch a wrestling show without cringing for most of it.

Thank you for an alternative AEW...I truly appreciate it.

Oh & one more thing...can we get Allie, Rosemary & Tenille Dashwood in AEW please?

Please?

And I have to post this one more time...

because it makes me laugh.
