Shanell may have made listeners blush with her sensual single “My Button,â€￾ but the Young Money singer-songwriter is toning things down with the accompanying music video.

A clip for the song, which will appear on her upcoming debut, has been shot and is currently in post production. “It is fun. I tried to make sure that I got the message across without being too [provocative],â€￾ she tells Rap-Up.com. “It’s like I’m saying it without saying it so I wanted the video to do the same thing, and it’s hard to do that and make sure that people draw the parallels between the two ideas. But I think we did a good job.â€￾

In order to appeal to her younger fans, she’s taking the less is more approach. “We want to make sure that it’s played on BET and other video outlets,â€￾ she explains. “And Young Money has a young fan base, so everybody’s not grown. So I don’t want to be one of those artists that just puts stuff out there that’s too raunchy.â€￾

She worked closely with director Colin Tilley (Chris Brown, Mary J. Blige) to develop the concept. “I’m very involved in everything I do and when it came to putting the video together, he didn’t get offended or act like I’m too big of a director to work with the artist. He actually sat down with me and went over the ideas, and we came up with some good stuff together.â€￾

The video for “My Buttonâ€￾ will premiere in early July before Shanell hits the road with Lil Wayne on the second leg of his “I Am Still Musicâ€￾ tour starting July 13.

Leslie Taylor was the coolest kid on her block. Taylor, daughter of Jay-Z’s business associate Chaka Pilgrim, and her friend Skakora Conley turned 16 with some help from the Roc Nation mogul and Kanye West, who made an appearance at her “Sweet 16” bash at the Carlton Hotel in New York City over the weekend.
According to the New York Daily News, Ryan Leslie sang “Happy Birthday” to the girls and Diggy Simmons presented the “royal 16 court” at the lavish Black Swan-themed event, organized by the Purple Agency.

Stilt walkers, human mannequins covered in feathers, and ballerinas dressed in black danced to Kanye’s “Runaway.” Hov and Yeezy took a break from recording Watch the Throne to get on the mic and surprise their young fans.

Lil Wayne pens a letter to his No. 1 fan Anne on “Dear Anne,” his answer to Eminem’s classic “Stan.” The introspective piano-driven track was produced by Swizz Beatz and samples Russian pop duo t.A.T.u.’s “30 Minutes.”
“I hope I see you in the stands, Anne/ Because you know I understand, Anne/ And I’m sorry about Stan, so I wrote this to say that I’m your No. 1 fan,” raps an appreciative Weezy.
Swizz originally submitted the song for Eminem’s Relapse album and then offered it to Wayne in exchange for a verse on his Haute Living single “Rock ‘N’ Roll.” But it won’t appear on Tha Carter IV and instead finds a home on the Internet for your listening pleasure.

Big Sean sets the mood with a little “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay” on his buoyant collaboration with Kanye West and Roscoe Dash from the G.O.O.D. Music rapper’s debut Finally Famous. Roscoe croons the hook on the squeaky Pop Wansel and Mike Dean production, while Mr. West delivers a verse drippin’ in swagu: “Why my pants sag off?/ ‘Cause I’m rapping my ass off/ Flow so ugly, money so handsome, this the fucking anthem.”
“It’s kind of like super special,” Sean previously told Rap-Up.com of the standout track. “It’s something people are going to be able to party to and has a great message at the same time.”

Nasty Nas is back to claim his throne with the first street single from his upcoming album Life Is Good. Over an old school, gritty production, QB’s Finest spits verse after verse without a hook.
“I’m not in the winters of my life or the beginning stage/ I am the dragon/ Maserati, pumpin’ Biggie the great legend, blastin’/ I’m after the actress who played Faith Evans,” he rhymes before proclaiming, “Make way for the king.”

Don’t mess with Kanye West. The self-proclaimed mama’s boy stands up for the most important woman in his life—his mother—on “Mama’s Boyfriend,” a leftover from his Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy recording sessions. You may remember seeing him first debut the soulful song on top of a cafeteria table at Facebook’s headquarters last summer.
A 5-year-old Yeezy, who remained fly in Superman pajamas back in the day, reflects on being the only man worthy of his mother’s love and how he’s turned out to be one of the men he despised. “I never liked you ni**as, who knew one day I’d be just like you ni**as?” he raps. Alrrright!

Everyone’s jumping to do a remix to “I’m on One,” but Bei Maejor takes a different approach. The multi-talented musician sings and plays piano on his cover of DJ Khaled’s hit single. Same lyrics, same melody, but we bet you haven’t heard it like this before. And the accompanying “Manhattan in Motion” visuals are also a sight to see.

Big Sean serves up the visuals for “I Do it,” the second single from his debut Finally Famous. The Detroit spitter, who’s currently on tour with Wiz Khalifa, flaunts his riches in between zoomed in shots of his jewelry and face. Get up close and personal with G.O.O.D. Music’s newest star.
