I'm interested to see what they'll do with Ibrox, surely it would further cripple them to open the entire stadium if they're no where near a sell out when you factor in stewarding costs and what not.

I'm unsure tbh, dropping down to the third division would remove a lot of glory fans. Imagine if that happened to Manure / Chavski, they'd pull in a 10th at best of their average gates.

Hell no will they still get that many. There's a ton of glory supporters. They won't sell out ibrox against those low-ass teams.

And away games will significantly be affected too. Rangers are literally starting from scratch. Their argument to get into division 1 was that they had to maintain a massive stadium, while others in div 3 didn't have that problem. Fuck that.

I'd imagine they'll just open a half of it or something. I'm pretty sure Whyte sold the stadium to Greene who I imagine will rent it out to them so he can make money and then bugger off.

They won't get out of the 3rd division that easily is my prediction. They are gonna struggle to get a team together on realistic wages in the space of like 4 weeks?

I don't feel sorrry for Rangers the club, however I do feel like it's a bit crap for the fans. Also as we were saying at work today it's a nightmare for one the SPL and secondly alot of businesses who relied on Rangers fans travelling away and at home so it's a dark day for the SPL and I can see it having some massive overtures on the Scottish economy as well.

The majority of Rangers fans are a bunch of glory hunters who deserve it anyway tbh. The ones that claim they are amazing fans cause they go to some away games and watch their team win all the time whilst singing sectarian songs.

This could be great news for SPL clubs IMO. Second place is up for grabs and it is only so long, before Celtic - IMO - inevitably become vulnerable due to the loss of their only previous competition. ST sales will rapidly decrease after a season or two and other teams that have been doing well - boosted by Champions League and 2nd place prize money - will hopefully begin to mount a serious threat to the title.

Besides, roughly 160k extra each div3 club will make off of the Huns this year, they will be able to progress massively.

Contrary to this myth that the Scottish media keep perpetuating that the SPL needs Rangers, I believe that the SPL will prosper without them.

Fair points R'Albin but there is a possibility that you could lose TV money this year from what I've heard which could seriously bugger things up. However I hope things prosper as that as you say it has a positive effect on the SPL.

Thank you, and I hope it does as well.

WHat pisses me off is that Regan and DOncaster keep banging on about how bad our league will be without Rangers instead of bigging it up. They keep going on about how important our TV deal is and it makes us look desperate and decreases our value. We should come out saying "We don't need your pishy 80million over 5 years, we'll make our money by attracting fans back by changing KO times to 3pm on a Saturday and by producing exciting young Scottish talent instead of signing overrated foreign players.

I have a strange outlook on it all I guess, but still, my ideas can't be any worse than any of the Scottish Authorities' ones are!

I like your thinking though R'Albin you should defo push your youth system and attempt to bring them through as then liek you say TV deals won't matter as much, also 3pm kick offs on a Sat is an instant win.
