Well, my Best IWF WWE match tourney never got off the ground, so to at least try and start some kind of discussion and expose some people to some good matches I'm going to just post two random matches that I think are great and see what you guys think.

First match is an absolutely brilliant tag affair from the greatest year in the industry, 1997. It features Shawn in his first match back since he "lost in smile" in 1997, teaming with Stone Cold and injecting himself into the Hart Foundation-Austin feud and meanwhile it starts the very brief Austin-HBK feud which would culminate in their really nice, but short King of the Ring affair which was incredibly awesome as Austin was still incredibly mobile and HBK wasn't in sheer agony from back problems, and they are very well in this match too. And of course Bulldog and Owen are incredible as well. I could only find a slightly clipped version on Daily Motion, so if someone knows how to embed it, please, be my guest.

[dm]x2p22d[/dm]

And secondly a more recent tag match featuring two great teams. Los Guerreros vs. Team Angle from Backlash 2003. A very solid and fun tag match. Both teams were on top of their games here. Again I got it from DM, so if someone knows how to embed, go ahead.

The first match: Absolutely awesome. I haven't been that into a tag match for a long time. The way it went was done perfectly. It was back and forth with the crowd in every second of it. Fast paced, good wrestling, awesome.

Second match: I loved it. I thought it was great. Four great wrestlers, one of the best, and three of the most underrated.

I loved both of them, and I felt that you picked a great matchup. I go with Austin/HBK vs. Owen/Bulldog.

The first match was a more faster paced typical Raw Main event type match. The fact that a team of HBK/Austin in their prime is a part of this match is a huge plus, and also the J.R/Vinnie Mac commentary added greatly to this one. Owen Hart showed why he is to this day one of the more over looked talents over the years. Bulldog looked good himself, sad these two would pass away not much long after.

Match #2 was a decent wrestling match that seemed like its purpose was to put Team Angle over big. Eddie and Chavo had a fun tag team back then and all of their matches included alot of comedy and trickery and although some was shown in this match, it was more focused on making the new young All americans Hass and Benjamin look strong. Shelton botched a little bit towards the ending which isnt very suprising (for those who followed sheltons carrer after this match) Tazz and Cole had their usual semi annoying/ semi entertaining commentary with both good and bad parts but for the most this match was good. One thing I always disliked was when a team member claps while the refs distracted in order for their partner to come in untagged..it serves no point as whenever this happens the guy doing it is usually in deep control of his opponent and tagging would be just as easy as clapping..

But overall..Id say Match #1 was alot more entertaining to me. I wasnt a huge 2003 SD mark to begin with..it was kind of bad..

Well honestly, I was going to pair the Austin/HBK-Hart Foundation match against Harts/Steiners but that just isn't fair as I feel that is probably the best WWF tag match I've ever seen. The Guerreros/Team Angle match seemed good enough and I didn't want to put any of the epic 3 ways of Benoit/Angle vs Rey/Edge vs. Guerreros as those were 3 ways. But of course I'm taking the 97 classic.

I think they did that because for logical terms, the referee is distracted by the other guy, so they clap their hands so the referee hears it and knows a tag happens. Otherwise the referee would turn around and find the guy in the ring illegal. My only guess.

Also next time the poll should be public.

How can you dislike that. In standard tag matches, the only way for your partner to get in a match is to tag them. The ref has their back turned but they hear the slap of the hands thinking it's a tag so they let it go. I'd rather that than for the partners to just run in the ring and the ref let it slide. It's the little things like that that I like.
