La morte d'Orfeo (The Death of Orpheus) is an opera in five acts by the Italian composer Stefano Landi. Dedicated to Alessandro Mattei, familiaris of Pope Paul V, it may have been first performed in Rome in 1619.[1] The work is styled a tragicomedia pastorale (pastoral tragicomedy). The libretto, which may be by the composer himself, is in part inspired by La favola d'Orfeo (1484) by Angelo Poliziano. Unlike Monteverdi's L'Orfeo and the earliest Florentine operas on the subject (Euridice by Peri and Caccini), Landi's opera contains comic elements and deals with a different episode from the life of the mythical singer.

Beatrice Redpath (née Peterson; June 19, 1886 – February 11, 1937) was a Canadian poet and short story writer. As with Victoria Grace Blackburn, Louise Morey Bowman, and Wilson MacDonald, Redpath was considered a poet of Canada's "Restoration Period".[1] She was also a recipient of the Imperial Order Daughters of the Empire (I.O.D.E.) prize for short story. Redpath died in 1937.

It derives its name from the old Angel and Greyhound coaching inns in the High Street, for which it served as a horse-pasture.[1] There is now a pub named the Angel & Greyhound in St Clement's, an interesting example of an inn named after a meadow named after two inns.[2]

The 34th Street station was an express station on the demolished IRT Ninth Avenue Line in Manhattan, New York City. It was originally built on July 30, 1873 by the New York Elevated Railroad Company, and had two levels. The lower level was built first and had two tracks and two side platforms. The upper level was built as part of the Dual Contracts and had one track and two side platforms over the lower level local tracks. It closed on June 11, 1940. This station also serviced Penn Station and was west of the IRT and IND subway stations at Penn Station.
