For the past 10 years WWE has been trying to create new stars, trying to find the next generation of elite stars who can help carry the company. In the 90s we seen HBK, Bret Hart, The Rock, Stone Cold, Mankind, Taker, HHH, Razor Ramon, Diesel and so on.

In the past 10 years we had Chris Benoit, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Brock Lesnar, Edge, Jeff Hardy, RVD, Randy Orton, John Cena, Batista, Bobby Lashley, Chris Jericho, all rise up to become some what household names. Looking at that list of major stars created that are still around is very disappointing.

Benoit, Guerrero = deceased. Lesnar and Lashley in MMA. Angle in TNA. RVD lost his passion. Hardy's personal problems. Batista nearing retirement. So whats that leave us? Orton, Cena, Jericho and Edge.

The new generation we have now doesn't seem to be stepping up at a good rate. The Miz has improved very much so but honestly the "IM AWESOME" thing is stupid and his name is idiotic and not to be taken seriously. It just seems not too many new wrestlers are 100% full committed. Morrison has been with the company since 2004. 6 years and he still hasn't improved enough on the microphone.

WWE has done their part, you can't make a star over night. They put effort and time into Lesnar and Lashley both of which screwed WWE over. Eddie and Benoit dying was horrible for WWE considering the amount of time spent on making both into stars. RVD finally was made into a real star and he blew it, besides he didn't agree with the direction of the company anyway.

Just think if Eddie or Chris didn't die. If Angle, Lesnar, Lashley, RVD were still in WWE on top of what we have currently, would have a stacked roster. I don't know.. I just am very unsure with what WWE is doing right now. I am not that impressed with their new generation. McIntyre, Shame-us, Morrison, Ziggler have a long long long way to go. MVP is finally improving enough to where they can do real promos with him which is good.

WWE are actually lucky in the fact that their two main guys, John Cena and Randy Orton, unlike The Rock and Stone Cold prior to them, don't seem to be leaving anytime soon.

Cody Rhodes, Ted DiBiase, those are two guys that will main event regardless of everything.

And then you have the rest. I am a firm believer that you can't just throw everybody into main events and overnight create a new main event scene, you have to do it gradually. CM Punk is still young, is not injury prone and will be right up there. McIntyre, Sheamus, both of them have only been 6 months on the main roster and already left their mark, they will continue to improve.

And then there's The Miz. At the rate The Miz improves, I wouldn't be shock in 2 years we start bringing him up in "best in the world" arguments.

Morrison is just annoying. I agree, the fact that he still hasn't improved his promos after this long brings him closer and closer to the "never were, never will be" group of Carlito and Shelton Benjamin

You forgot CM Punk. Guy is already a star, and hopefully cements it at WM (facing HBK or in the main event). Drew will be big, guaranteed. There is and was absolutely nothing wrong with MVP and there was never a time where they were unable to "do real promos with him." He was one of the top mic workers in the business in 07 as a heel, he was amazing all around. They've fucked up so hard with him, it's pathetic. Turn him back fucking heel for the love of god and send him over to ECW and have him be the one to beat Christian or just get the title some other way.

I believe right now WWE probably has their best over all roster they've ever had. There are so many young talents on the verge of being absolutely huge. The only thing working against them is their current booking. We've seen so many times how horrible booking and really dick some of these guys over. There are some phenomenal ring workers in the company right now and some even better mic workers.
As CMS said, you've got guys like Miz who are improving as such an incredible rate I wouldn't be shocked if a few years down the road he's lumped in with Jericho and others as one of the best all around entertainers in the business.
Sheamus, Drew, Miz, Morrison, Kofi, MVP, Cody, Ted and others all have limitless potential if they are used right. And don't forget... Orton and Cena are still extremely young...neither of the two are even 30 yet!

Cena is past 30, but Orton, yeah he's still mega young. I don't think someone like Orton would stay as long as HHH though, dunno.

Yeah, I think Cena is 33 and Orton is like....28? Something like that.

Cena's 32
Orton's 29

They still have a ways to go in the business imo

I think the problem is the wrestlers they have now, the new generation, didn't really go through what the stars of the 90s went through. Most of the top guys that were in the 90s had a lot of experience from the independents and territories that were around.

And wow I can't believe I left out CM Punk! I just hate how he isn't in the main events anymore.

The E is fine. Plus they'll always be on top just because of their name, as they've take away the freedom stars of times past used to have that made them bigger stars than those of today can be, plus they won't push anyone the way they did Lesnar or Lashley so they can't bolt. Perhaps that's why they've locked down Orton with the ten year contract.

But they have a fine roster of could bes in the future: Miz (has the "it" more than anyone right now) Sheamus, McIntyre, Kofi, Teddy Jr., Cody, MVP, Swagger, and Punk will make fine corner stones, along with Cena, Edge, Orton and Jericho as the elder statesmen as dudes like HHH, HBK, Batista and Taker start to fade away the next 3-10 years, and hopefully start putting people over like mad to help propel these guys to the next level.

I'm still not sold on Drew. Watching the Morrison DQ Match I wasn't impressed, aside from his finisher. (Bout time someone brought back the DDT). I could careless if he places the weights for HBK and HHH, this guy is booooring.
