its been bugging me for a while this but when he came back was it a genuine suprise or was it kind of expected

I hadn't read rumors or anything but was speculating with my friends that it would be Rock.

so for me, a bit of both. I wasn't too plugged in to the IWC at that time though

If you mean when he return to host WM27, then I think it was kinda a surprise...

Some people speculated it would be him, but most expected the host to be Stone Cold...
