1. What religion do you believe?

2. Why do you believe it?

3. Are you afraid of death and the afterlife?

4. What if there is a hell or something somewhat like hell, and everyone's religious beliefs were fake? Would you fear going to hell or something like hell for believing something fake?

5. Do you think there is a Heaven or Hell?

6. What makes your religion more realistic then another “fake” religion?

My young mind pondered these questions. I'm just curious to hear IWF member's responses.

1. I'm agnostic, though I practice some Buddhist and Confucian values; I tend to have my own morals and standards, though.

2. Confucian values, I admire and respect; Buddhism, I guess it's the romantic part of it that intrigues me, and finding a higher purpose in life other than material desire, it's very sound.

3. No, actually, I do not fear Hell. It's an embellished presence and is akin to The Underworld from Greek mythos or other religions. If I'm to go to hell, fine, what I'd like to know is my reasoning for going.

4. I can't say for sure. My philosophy is, "You'd be a fool to think you know everything, and you'd be a fool to take everything as certainty." I more or less dwell on my earthly self as opposed to where I'll go in the afterlife, if there is one.

5. Nothing. There is NOTHING more realistic about ANYONE'S religion more so than another. Who are we to judge? We're just pawns in a chessboard, clinging to beliefs we really know nothing about. It's all speculation. I don't discredit anyone's religious preference, just question the validity.

Australia... and no, I do not ride around on a Kan
1. None

2. DOn't believe in any.

3. No because when I do die I won't be able to feel it will I? and if there is an afterlife that is even better..

4. Well why should we go to hell for believing something that is fake even though we did not know it was fake? That would be pathetic, people believe in what they want and should not be punished for it.

5. No I do not.

6. What makes your religion more realistic then another “fake” religion?

1. What religion do you believe? I'm a Christian but I don't believe in organized religion. The number of times you attend a formal church setting doesn't absolve you from being an asshole.

2. Why do you believe it? I've encountered things in my life so far that have me believing in a higher power than myself. I believe there is a God; I don't believe that God should be referred to as he or she. It's an entity, nothing more or less and should be respected.

3. Are you afraid of death and the afterlife?I work Security at a historically black college and I'm white, I'm also a Correctional Officer so no, I'm not afraid of death. I get threats often and in large quantities. I stay vigilant but not paranoid. I hope there is an afterlife because being in the dirt or thrown into a lake seems anticlimactic to me.

4. What if there is a hell or something somewhat like hell, and everyone's religious beliefs were fake? Would you fear going to hell or something like hell for believing something fake? Kind of a contradictory question. I think you should've said purgatory. That's a nothingness, just an empty vacuum like outer space. If all religion were fake then we'd die and that's it. Like the way it is before you were born.

5. Do you think there is a Heaven or Hell? Yes, nothing else to add.

6. What makes your religion more realistic then another “fakeâ€￾ religion? There are no fake religions per se, just different interpretations. Muslims also believe in Jesus Christ. The only difference is their prophet who is Muhammed. I think Islam is a vain and arrogant religion but not fake.

^^I'm not so sure. I've worked with Muslims and while they are nice people, they think anything not pertaining to their belief system isn't righteous and therefore evil.

1. Athiest.

2. You believe in a man you've never seen before yet you laugh at the thought of there being a Santa or Easter Bunny? Good one....

3. No. I hope in the afterlife, I can float around the earth wherever I want and do whatever I want.

4. No....

5. No....

6. It's more believable to believe that someone no one has ever seen doesn't exist than to believe something exists that you've never even seen.

I was saying I was Athiest, dumbass, as in "I don't believe in religion". A smart person would have read that and said "oh, she's Athiest, she doesn't believe in a religion". We obviously know where you stand.

Next time, for the slower group, I will put "I AM ATHIEST, I DON'T BELIEVE IN THAT SHIT".

1. What religion do you believe?

None. Don't get me wrong, I believe in God (Or some sort of higher entity), but not in religion.

3. Are you afraid of death and the afterlife?

Taken from The Great Gig in the Sky (A song from Pink Floyd's Dark Side of The Moon):

And I am not frightened of dying. Any time will do; I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it—you've gotta go sometime.

4. What if there is a hell or something somewhat like hell, and everyone's religious beliefs were fake? Would you fear going to hell or something like hell for believing something fake?

No.. Because as I stated before, I don't believe in any one religion.

5. Do you think there is a Heaven or Hell?

Yes.. But what does it matter? Its not like any of us can prove without a shadow of a doubt that either place exists.

6. What makes your religion more realistic then another “fake” religion?

Nothing... I won't mention again how I feel about religion.

Don't call me the dumbass, it was you who fucked up. Don't get so mad. There's no denying the facts though. The question was "what religion do you believe?" And you put Atheist.
Your the one who screwed up, I was just pointing it out. You know you screwed up to by the way you got so defensice. And as for your lame ass excuse, that's just dumb. Becuase if you read the posts, I also don't believe in a god and/or religion, but I just simply put "None" which would allow a smart person to go "Oh, ok, he doesn't believe in a religion".

Hmmm, that's a good point. Anyone claiming to be atheist shouldn't bother. That belief represents the absence of religion; So why would you answer questions about religious beliefs?

I don't know about the original poster claiming to be atheist but there are quite a few who still recognize Christmas. Now, I believe Christmas is buried under a pile of media-hyped shit. Nonetheless, it still has religious connotations whether you want them to or not.
