A Queens nurse bilked Medicaid out of nearly a million dollars with bogus claims that she spent almost every waking hour for seven years caring for a disabled Bronx boy, state prosecutors say.

The state attorney general wants Roxanne McKen to hand over two houses - one in North Baldwin, L.I., the other in Ossining, Westchester County - bankrolled by a brazen cash grab from the government health program.

McKen, 45, claimed she worked 20-hour days caring for a homebound Bronx boy over as many as 361 days a year between 2003 and 2010, prosecutors say.

She billed Medicaid $750,000 - $32 an hour - to care for a child who can't breathe on his own even as she was jetting off on vacations or running errands like cashing checks, according to the AG.

The boy is identified only as "BB" in a civil forfeiture lawsuit filed last week in Queens Supreme Court.
"On multiple occasions, McKen went to the office of a check-cashing service in Queens - as documented by surveillance cameras - when she was purportedly caring for BB in the Bronx," state prosecutors say.

McKen pulled down the six-figure salary and still qualified for Medicaid herself in 2004 by claiming she made just $22,000 that year, prosecutors add.
"McKen falsely reported her earnings even though her income as a Medicaid provider alone was more than nine times the amount needed to qualify as a Medicaid recipient," according to court papers.
Queens prosecutors charged McKen with grand larceny and filing phony documents in June. She's being held in lieu of a $200,000 bond.

The boy qualified for Medicaid under the Care at Home program, an alternative to institutional care for those with disabilities. His mother sought the help so she could work in Manhattan during the week.
Prosecutors say McKen duped Medicaid by claiming she cared for the boy 16 hours a day on weekends even though his parents were home watching after him.
McKen's lawyer, Christopher Renfroe, could not be reached for comment.
