Match 7
Shawn Michaels vs. Triple H

Shawn Michaels takes his entrance attire and throws it to the side. He looks over to the opposite side of the ring where Triple H simply observes his best friend. The referee brings the two men to the center of the ring and explains the rules of the match as the atmosphere created by the crowd oozes throughout the entire arena. The electricity in the air is simply unbelievable as the two men back away back into their corners. Michaels seemingly says a little prayer before looking up at the sky and continues it. The bell rings and the two men move into the center of the ring. Michaels moves into the center and puts his hands out for a test of strength. His best friend and former partner accepts but it is soon countered into an armtwist by 'The Show Stopper' he transitions the maneuver into a side headlock and moves his way backwards onto the ropes and rebounds off them, releasing the headlock. He rebounds off the opposite ropes and attempts a clothesline but Hunter ducks and turns around to greet Michaels with numerous right hands that bring HBK to the corner.

Triple H continues to deliver vicious right hands to the face of his best friend before 'The Show Stopper' blocks one, grabs Hunter and throws him into the corner and the tables have turned. Michaels plants back chops on the chest of 'The Cerebral Assassin' and then whips him over to the opposite corner. Michaels follows him over, charging at him with a clothesline, only for Triple H to sidestep his best friend and perform a neckbreaker from behind, bringing Mr. Wrestlemania down to the canvas. Hunter turns him over and hooks the leg, 1...2 Michaels kicks out. Michaels makes his way back up to his feet and faces his best friend, the two greats lock-up. Triple H whips Michaels to the ropes near the entrance ramp and follows it up with a high knee only; Michaels hangs onto the ropes. Triple H is momentarily off-balance and 'The Show Stopper' leaps onto him with a Lou Thesz Press followed by multiple punches to the face of Hunter Hearst Helmsley. Michaels gets back up to his feet and measures the former World Champion as he struggles back up to his feet.

Michaels whips Hunter to the ropes but the maneuver is reversed by Triple H and HBK is whipped to the ropes. He rebounds off and catches his former D-Generation X partner with a flying forearm before nipping back up to an amazing pop. Michaels' emotion gets the better of him and he absorbs the crowd's reaction before approaching a recovered Triple H with an inverted atomic drop followed by a right hand. Michaels waits Hunter to get back to his feet and brings him down with a scoop slam. The crowd cheer for 'The Heartbreak Kid' as they see what's coming. Mr. Wrestlemania makes his way to the corner and goes to the outside to climb to the top rope. He stands up and the crowd continue to add an amazing atmosphere as Michaels launches himself off the top rope and drives a flying elbow into the heart of 'The Cerebral Assassin' Triple H. Michaels gets back to his feet immediately and feels the love from the fans, he begins to shake with excitement and ask the crowd for more. The fans' feet hit the ground numerous times to add excitement for what's coming.

Michaels stands in the corner and begins to tune up the band for Sweet Chin Music. 1...2...3...4.. the crowd count along with 'The Heartbreak Kid' as Triple H almost gets to his feet, facing the other way.. 5...6...7 Hunter is on his feet and turns around into an oncoming Shawn Michaels who unleashes a vicious superkick! Hunter ducks though and the kick goes over HBK. Hunter turns Michaels around quickly sets him up for a Pedigree. The crowds' hearts sink as they think of the possibility of The Pedigree going through. Michaels counters into a back body drop as the crowd cheer. Michaels measures him as he struggles to get back to his feet, nursing his back. Michaels comes from behind and turns HHH around but quickly receives a kick to the gut and a lightning-quick facebuster; Michaels' face rebounds off the knee of Hunter and 'The Heartbreak Kid' groggily stumbles around before Triple h grabs him from behind the head and guides him to the ropes where he throws him to the outside. Hunter follows him to the outside via rolling under the ropes and joining his best friend.

Triple H guides Michaels back up to his feet. He grabs the back of his head much like he did to throw him over the ropes and smacks his head against the crowd barricade before throwing him back into the side of the ring and rolling him back in. He slides back into the ring and hooks the leg of Michaels, 1...2.. Michaels kicks out much to the delight of the crowd who maintain the amazing atmosphere throughout the arena. Hunter guides 'The Show Stopper' back up to his feet and unloads a right hand that knocks Michaels off-balance, he stumbles to the ropes but bounces off to maintain his balance before connecting with a vicious back hand chop that knocks Hunter back a bit. Hunter replies with a strong right hand which Mr. Wrestlemania manages to duck and end up behind Triple H. He turns him around and greets him with stinging back chops to the chest which force Hunter to resort to the corner in a bid for mercy. Michaels guides him out of the corner with his newly gained momentum and whips him to the ropes near the entrance ramp.

Hunter rebounds and kicks a bent-forward Michaels in the face, foiling his attempt to perform a back body drop. HHH then lifts Michaels up for a spinebuster and.. Michaels counters into a DDT! Hunter does a somersault from the impact of the DDT and is seemingly unconscious in the middle of the ring. Michaels stands up with an intent and looks around at his home state as they express their love for their hero. He looks to the corner and begins to make his way up to the top rope via the apron on the outside. He stands on the top rope and launches himself off and connects with the diving elbow drop again! He passes out next to HHH from exhaustion momentarily before rolling over and getting an arm over him, 1...2... 'The Cerebral Assassin' kicks out. Michaels gets on his hands and knees before forcing himself back up to his feet. He staggers over to the ropes to the left of the ones near the entrance ramp. As Hunter struggles up, Michaels moves into the center of the ring more and then unleashes a lightning-quick superkick and.. HHH ducks again!

Hunter pushes Michaels from behind into the corner turnbuckles to the right of the entrance ramp. Michaels puts his hands out to block himself from colliding with the turnbuckles and HHH approaches him from behind though; Michaels swings an elbow backwards into the face of Hunter and he stumbles groggily backwards. Michaels climbs the turnbuckles from the inside of the ring and reaches the top rope before leaping back with a moonsault, taking out his best friend, Hunter Hearst Helmsley and he holds on for the moonsault/pin combo, 1...2... HHH kicks out! Michaels punches the canvas in frustration and gets back up to a vertical base. He leans on the ropes due to exhaustion. Triple H lies on the opposite side of the ring and gradually gets to his knees and uses the ropes as leverage to get back up. He turns around to face his opponent and.. Sweet Chin Music! Michaels takes out his best friend with Sweet Chin Music before collapsing down to the canvas next to him, face down; covered in sweat. The crowd cheer and rumble their feet in anticipation of Mr. Wrestlemania covering HHH.

Shawn Michaels eventually lifts himself up and rests an arm over Triple H as the crowd confidently count along with the referee, 1...2... at the last second, Triple H kicks out! Michaels and everyone in the crowd cannot believe it. He gradually drags himself back up and collapses into the turnbuckles where he rests on his side, awaiting Hunter to get back up. As the man whom 'The Show Stopper' has so much respect for struggles back up to his feet yet another time in this physically grueling match-up of two of the greats of all-time. HHH uses the turnbuckles opposite HBK to help him stand again. He gets on two feet, before turning around into an oncoming 'Heartbreak Kid' who delivers Sweet Chin Music.. Hunter catches his boot though! He pulls Michaels in and delivers a kick to the gut before planting him with a Pedigree out of nowhere! The crowd's silent as they see a banged-up Michaels lay unconscious, face-down on the canvas as Triple H gradually gets in position for the pin; still suffering the affects from the match-up.

Hunter Hearst Helmsley hooks the leg of his best friend and looks to have ended the potential fairytale-ending with disaster as the count is made, 1...2... Shawn Michaels kicks out! 'The Heartbreak Kid's resilience shines through yet again! Like it has so often in his career! An exhausted HHH gradually makes his way back up to his feet and measures HBK. 'The Show Stopper' is guided up by 'The Game' and receives a strong HHH-right hand to the face that knocks him down to one knee. He gets back up extremely groggily and replies with a back hand chop to the chest and Hunter retaliates with a whip to the ropes. Michaels rebounds off the ropes and is victim to a massive spinebuster from 'The King of Kings' Triple H. Hunter stands over his best friend and looks down at him as if to say, 'I'm sorry.' and watches his helpless opponent struggle back up, using his knee pads to hold on to to get up. Hunter looks down at Michaels holding onto his knees and now 'The Game's upper thighs to get back up and it shows a sense of sadness on the face of Triple H.

Hunter fights his emotions and pushes Michaels' head between his thighs and lifts his arms back, setting him up for the Pedigree. The crowd is silent as they can see 'The Heartbreak Kid's career ending on a sad note. HHH looks to plant Michaels with the Pedigree but Michaels pulls HHH's legs forward so he falls back on the canvas and Michaels somersaults over him, holding his legs up for the roll-up predicament, 1...2... 'The Game' kicks out. The two best friends struggle back up to their feet using the ropes as leverage. On opposite sides of the ring, the men, who struggle to stand gradually approach each other. Michaels comes off the ropes with Sweet Chin Music! HHH catches the boot though and kicks him in the gut for another attempt at The Pedigree! He sets 'The Heartbreak Kid' up and.. Michaels pushes extremely strong into HHH and Hunter flies back to the ropes as does Michaels due to the strength of the push. Michaels leans sideways over the ropes as the two men take the short amount of time they have to recover.

Hunter comes off the ropes slowly and staggers over to Michaels to try and continue the match but Michaels, out of nowhere, comes off the ropes with Sweet Chin Music out of nowhere! Michaels turns around gradually due to the force used in the kick but has no more energy and falls backwards, landing on his best friend. The referee makes the count, 1...2...3

Shelton then turns as HBK goes for another Sweet Chin Music but Shelton side steps and then he kicks him to his midsection and he connects him with the T-bone Suplex and covers, 1... 2... 21/2... and Shawn kicks out. The crowd goes nuts after seeing the two champions kicking out each others finisher. The two are exhausted and they are down at the mat as the ref starts to count, 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 6... 7... 8... and Shelton pulls himself up at the ropes and Shawn then follows.

Shelton then grabs his opponent and he attempts for another T-bone but Shawn fights back by throwing him some elbows at the back of his head. Shelton then releases him and he holds his head as Shawn charges in and he knocks Shelton with a hard knocking clothesline. Shawn then gets up and waits for Shelton to get up. Shawn then charges in as Shelton catches him with a spinebuster attempt but Shawn counters and hits Shelton with a swinging DDT. Shawn then gets up and he looks very furious as he wants to end the match. Shelton then gets up as Shawn goes for another Sweet Chin Music but Shelton ducks and he whips Shawn to the corner. Shelton then charges in and he hits HBK with a stinger splash. Shelton then pulls Shawn away of the corner and he catches him for the T-bone but HBK counters him with a small package, 1... and Shelton kicks out. Shelton then nips up as Shawn follows and he attacks as Shelton catches him and he finally connects the T-bone Suplex and covers, 1... 2... 3... and Shelton Benjamin wins the match.

The crowd can't believe it as they start chanting the HEW Champion's name as the pyros explode and confetti come out from the ceiling while Shelton Benjamin's theme starts to play. Shelton gets up and he can't believe that he just beat the Legendary Shawn Michaels in the ring. Shawn then tries to get up as the HEW Champion offers a hand and Shawn pulls himself up with the help from Shelton. HBK then extends his arm to the winner of the match and Shelton accepts it and shakes the Showstopper's hand and they embrace at the center of the ring as the crowd pops much louder. Shawn then raises Shelton's arm high as the show ends.

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP
WRESTLEMANIA MAIN EVENT
WWE CHAMPION CM PUNK vs. 2009 ROYAL RUMBLE WINNER MR. KENNEDY

Once the bell rings the crowd raise in anticipation, as both Kennedy and Punk approach each other, once again talking smack to each other, before Punk rocks Kennedy with a vicious right hand slap! The crowd gives huge heat as Punk simply smiles as Kennedy holds his cheek, as Ken then absolutely explodes with right hands, before whipping Punk to the ropes, and once he returns, Kennedy hits the WWE Champion with a Back Body Drop. Punk’s back smacks the mat with a lot of ferocity and impact. Kennedy then lifts Punk up and kicks him in the gut, before getting him in a front face lock, going for a Vertical Suplex. Punk lands on his feet when Kennedy goes for the Suplex, however, as he then bounces off the ropes, but he is met with a Standing Dropkick from the challenger! Kennedy does not take his eyes off of Punk as the crowd get behind the winner of the 2009 Royal Rumble after lasting more than an hour, as a dominated Punk gets up, with not even one minute in the match gone. Kennedy goes to hit Punk with a clothesline only for Punk to duck under, as Punk goes for a Back Body Drop much like Kennedy did seconds earlier as Ken bounced off of the ropes, but a responsive and aware Kennedy meets Punk with a kick to the head, before swinging him around and hitting him with a Back Suplex!

Kennedy lets out a smirk for the first time in the match, knowing that he has control, as Kennedy then moves to the legs of Punk, looking for a Boston Crab. Punk, however, refuses for Kennedy to turn him over onto his stomach into the Boston Crab, as Kennedy then straightens up, before falling back, causing him to toss Punk through the air, going for the top turnbuckle. Punk holds onto the ropes to stop himself from hitting the metal turnbuckle, however, as Kennedy then gets to his feet and charges at the WWE Champion, only for Punk to give Kennedy a drop toe hold right onto the middle turnbuckle! The crowd gives huge heat for Punk’s first real impact move of the match, as Punk then steps back before charging at Kennedy and dropkicking him, once again driving Kennedy’s forehead into the turnbuckle! The crowd gives heat as Kennedy’s head for the second time bounces off the turnbuckle, this time the impact causing him to bounce off. Punk then picks Kennedy up off the mat, only to knock him straight back down again with a Scoop Slam.

The crowd gives more heat for Punk taking the advantage in the match, as Punk lifts Kennedy up, staying on the offensive. Punk puts Kennedy into a crouching position before viciously driving his knees right into the forehead of Kennedy, Kennedy’s head snapping back every time. Punk then put the Green Bay Loudmouth into a DDT position, only for Kennedy to flip Punk over his shoulders and into a Northern Lights Suplex, along with the bridging pin! 1...2.. Punk kicks out in the first cover of the match at the two and a half minute mark. Both Kennedy and Punk get up at the same time, Punk going for a Dropkick only for Kennedy to move out of the way, although Punk seems unaffected and gets up straight away. Punk charges at Kennedy but is caught with an Arm Drag, and gets hit with another as he goes for exactly the same approach. Punk used the aid of the ropes to get back up, only for Kennedy this time to charge at him. Punk goes for a Back Body Drop over the top rope, but Kennedy manages to hold onto the top rope, landing on the apron. Kennedy goes to hit Punk with a shoulder to the gut once the WWE Champion had turned around, but Punk this time was alert and managed to sidestep, as he then nailed Kennedy with a Jumping Front Kick as he was crouched over in between the ropes!

The crowd give heat as Kennedy holds his face as he gets back in a standing position on the apron, only to be clotheslined off by Punk, as Kennedy hits the mats hard on the outside! The crowd gives heat once again, as Punk waits for Kennedy to get up as the referee starts the count for Kennedy being on the outside of the ring. 1...2...3...Kennedy begins to get to his feet... 4...5...Kennedy gets to a kneeling position...6...Kennedy gets up...7...Kennedy approaches the ring, only for Punk to use the ropes as catapults as he leaps over the top rope and to the outside, hitting Kennedy with a Diving Crossbody! The crowd gives heat once again at Kennedy being hit with an impact move by Punk, as referee Mike Chioda restarts the 10 count. 1...2...Punk starts to get to his feet...3...4...Kennedy gets to his hands and knees while Punk gets to a standing position...5...6...Punk rolls into the ring and gets a shoulder up, breaking the count on his part but leaving the remainder of the 10 counts to Kennedy...7...8...Kennedy gets to his feet...9... At the last possible second, Kennedy rolls into the ring and gets a shoulder up, breaking the 10 count. Once Kennedy had dived into the ring, Punk laid the boots into Kennedy, keeping his challenger grounded.

Punk then lifts Kennedy up and whips him across the ropes, and upon arrival, Punk goes for one of his devastating Roundhouse Kicks, only for Kennedy to duck under it and then get Punk in a Backslide Cover! 1...2...Punk kicks out! The crowd gives heat at Kennedy’s second surprise pin attempt failing after a quick two count, as Kennedy takes a while longer than the champion to get up. Once both are up, Punk kicks Kennedy in the gut and once again goes to throw him across the ropes, only for Kennedy to reverse the whip by spinning out of it, and nailing Punk with a Flapjack on the top rope! Punk holds his neck once he hits the ropes, and stumbles back right into a Backbreaker! Kennedy keeps Punk in the Backbreaker position, as he lifts Punk up and then nails him with a Sidewalk Slam! The crowd gives another pop for the former World Heavyweight Champion, as Kennedy lifts up Punk and turned him around, getting him in a Reverse DDT position. Kennedy doesn’t go for a DDT, however, as he flips Punk over his head and goes for an Inverted Suplex, only for Punk to land on his feet, as he gets Kennedy in a Reverse DDT position of his own, but like Kennedy, he doesn’t go for a Reverse DDT, rather smacking Kennedy right onto his knee! The crowd once again lets out an astonishing amount of boos, as Kennedy back is crushed across Punk’s knee, which he uses so often and so efficiently. Punk then takes a breather after Kennedy’s somewhat of a surprise advantage, as Kennedy stays on the mat, favouring his back.

Kennedy is then rolled over onto his stomach, as CM Punk then lifts the right arm of Kennedy up as he wraps his legs around Kennedy’s arm, as he drops back onto his back, locking Kennedy into a very painful Armbar! The agony shows on the challenger’s face immediately, as he does everything he can to get out of the hold, reaching out with his free left arm to try and get to the ropes, even though he is unsuccessful as he is trapped by Punk right in the centre of the ring. Kennedy is seemingly helpless even with the crowd cheering him on, as Kennedy tries to inch closer towards the ropes, but it fails. Kennedy continues to inch towards the bottom, Punk doing all that he can to create as much pain as he can in the arm of Kennedy, which is a vital part of his patented Mic Check and Steamroller. However, with the crowd behind him, Kennedy inches even further towards the ropes, and even with Punk doing everything that he can to prevent Kennedy from getting there, Kennedy manages to get a hold of the bottom rope, even after he looked so close to tapping out at the start of the hold. Punk is furious and maintains the hold, as Kennedy starts the 5 count, where Punk will be disqualified if he maintains the hold for the full 5 count. 1...2...3...4...Punk breaks the hold, as Kennedy writhes in pain after being in the hold for a further four seconds than he expected. Punk rolled away from Kennedy as Kennedy held onto his right arm, as Kennedy is moved away from the ropes by Punk, who then hits him with a knee drop to the sternum. Kennedy held onto his stomach, as Punk nailed him, with a further two knee drops to the gut, as the wind is knocked out of Ken.

Punk then drags Ken back to the centre of the ring, as Punk lifts Kennedy up and gets him in a Double Underhook, before going for a Straight Edge. Punk manages to lift Kennedy up, but Ken refuses to be hit, dropping back down with his feet in the mat again, still in the Double Underhook from Punk. The WWE Champion then goes for a Standing Pepsi Plunge, but he is pushed against the ropes by Kennedy, and once he arrives back, Kennedy hits his opponent with a Step Up Enziguiri! The crowd get to their feet after Kennedy hit the Enziguiri, as both me hit the mat, Kennedy recovering from all that he has had to endure throughout the entire match. The referee starts the count as both men are knocked out. 1...2...3...Both Kennedy and Punk begin to stir...4...5...Punk gets to his hands and knees...6...Kennedy now gets to his hands and knees...7...Punk gets to a vertical base, breaking the count for him...8...9... Kennedy gets to a vertical base once again at the last possible second. Punk is furious as he dashes at Kennedy once again, only for Kennedy to sidestep and quickly pull Punk into position, before nailing a Forward Russian Leg Sweep (Stroke tbh). Kennedy then climbs over for the cover on Punk, as Chioda gets to his knees and make the cover! 1...2...Kick out from Punk! Kennedy is once again somewhat shocked at Punk kicking out of what JR calls a variation of a Reverse Mic Check, as Punk is lifted up by the former World Heavyweight and United States Champion.

Kennedy then hits CM with an Atomic Drop, before turning him around and hitting him with a Chop Block ala Ric Flair, causing Punk to go to a kneeling position, as Kennedy then went around to the front of Punk, getting him in another front face lock. Kennedy then held one arm out as he posed to the crowd, before dropping Punk on his head with a Kneeling Spike DDT! The crowd gives a huge pop once again for Kennedy, although he doesn’t go for the pin, instead lifting Punk up and getting him a Pumphandle Slam position, only for Punk to roll through and get Kennedy in a Victory Roll! 1...Punk gets a hold of the second rope with one hand...2...The referee catches Punk and stops the count, perhaps denying Punk the victory! Punk gets up furious as he approaches the referee, who points to the ropes and then grabs onto the WWE logo on his referee top, signalling that he is the official. Punk then turns around frustrated knowing that he cannot strike Chioda, and once he turns around, Kennedy is right there, doing a Feint Roundhouse Kick before turning it into a vicious Enziguiri! The crowd get to their feet for the amazing amount of athleticism from Kennedy, who desperately crawls over to Punk and goes for the cover, hooking the outer leg! 1...2...PUNK KICKS OUT ONCE AGAIN! Kennedy is very shocked at Punk’s resiliency to which King points out that that is why Punk is the champion. Kennedy then lifts Punk up again, only to be tripped up by Punk, who then flips over and gets Kennedy in a Jacknife cover! 1...2...This time Kennedy is the one to kick out!

Punk puts his hands on his head as he unsure of what will put Kennedy away as he seems to have an answer for everything including his finishers, as Kennedy gets up at the same time as Punk. Punk and Kennedy both charge at each other at the same time as both of them have the same idea and go for a Clothesline, knocking both of them out at the same time. The referee once again starts the ten count, due to both men having their shoulders on the mat. 1...2...3...4...5...Both Kennedy and Punk begin to get up after 11 minutes of gruelling action...6...7...Both men get up to their feet, as Punk is met with a kick to the gut, as Ken then tries to whip him into the corner, but Punk managed to hold his ground and then whip Kennedy into the corner as he then goes for his signature Shining Wizard and Bulldog combination, but when he went for the High Knee, Kennedy moved and Punk’s knee smashed into the metal turnbuckle! Punk’s pain showed on his face as soon as he struck the turnbuckle, as he stumbled back, right into a Reverse DDT from Kennedy! The crowd pops once again as Kennedy climbs over for another cover! 1...2...Punk kicks out again!

Kennedy is really pissed off now as he once again signals for the end, as once Punk stumbles up, he gets him on his shoulders, only for Punk to slip down the back and get Kennedy in a Schoolboy Rollup! 1...Much like earlier in the match, Punk uses underhanded tactics to try and put Kennedy away by hooking the tight...2...Kennedy now kicks out! The crowd pops and gives a sigh of relief as this time Chioda was not aware of Punk’s tactics, but Kennedy managed to keep his hopes alive of stripping Punk of his WWE Title. Punk then shows the distraught on his face, and when Kennedy goes towards Punk, he is brought into a Urinagi position from Punk, as Kennedy is then nailed with a Urinagi! The crowd gives an astonishing amount of heat as Kennedy’s wrist is then brought over as he is locked in the Anaconda Vice! The crowd gives a huge amount of heat as Punk’s deadly submission has been locked in, as Kennedy kicks his legs around in desperation and pain, looking to get his feet and torso near the ropes. Kennedy tries to free himself from Punk, but CM is unrelenting. Kennedy is visibly in pain as Punk applies more pressure on Kennedy, knowing that this chance alone is his biggest chance to put Kennedy away and retain his WWE Championship!

Kennedy continues to try to get out of the hold only for Punk to apply even more pressure, as Kennedy’s eyes eventually roll to the back of his head. Mike Chioda then drops down and lifts up Kennedy’s free arm, which falls down to the mat lifelessly. Chioda raises one finger and points to the timekeeper before he repeats this action once again as a Kennedy chant arises once again throughout the arena, only for the same result to occur in Kennedy’s arm lifelessly falling to the mat. Chioda raises another finger and points to the timekeeper before raising Kennedy’s arm for the third and final time, but just when it was about to hit the mat, Kennedy melodramatically kept his arm up, saving the match and his shot at Punk’s WWE Championship! Punk is slightly shocked and slackens his grip, as a somewhat recovered, lively Kennedy begins to hit Punk with every part of his body that he has free, using his free elbows and knees to make Punk release his grip! The crowd gives an amazing pop as both men get up, Punk’s charge at Kennedy once again backfiring as he caught by Kennedy, who goes for a Mic Check attempt, but he is pushed off by Punk before he could execute his quick but ever effective finisher.

Kennedy bounces off of the ropes for extra momentum and once he returns Punk goes to hit him with a kick to the gut, only for an aware Kennedy to once again catch the boot of Punk. The WWE Champion is then spun around by Kennedy, as a dizzy Punk is then lifted up into another Fireman’s Carry by Kennedy, only for him to hold onto the ropes, preventing Kennedy from doing any further damage. Kennedy drops Punk and then turns back around to him, only for Kennedy to be caught by Punk with a thumb to the eye! The crowd gives Punk a load of heat, as he then nails a caught off guard Kennedy with a right hand, followed by a left punch, quickly followed by a lightning quick Spinning Back Fist. Punk then shows tremendous athleticism by hitting Kennedy with a Roundhouse Kick from a very close position, as Punk then spins around but this time nails Kennedy with a Spin Kick to the gut. A crouched Kennedy seems to be in trouble, as he is pulled in by the champion and nailed with a devastating Snap DDT, as Punk repays the favour from earlier on in the match up. The crowd boos but some cheers are heard from the amazing combo, as Kennedy’s lights are out.

Punk then lifts Kennedy up after the devastating DDT instead of going for the pin and what could have been the victory, before nailing him with an Atomic Drop, and then getting him in a Double Underhook. The crowd give huge heat, as they don’t want Punk to nail either a Straight Edge or a standing Pepsi Plunge, but Punk had a different idea, as he nailed Kennedy with a Welcome to Chicago backbreaker. The crowd once again gave massive heat for the current WWE Champion, as Punk simply smirked before once again lifting Kennedy up, before getting him in position for a Urinagi once again, possibly looking for the Anaconda Vice which he used earlier on in the match! The crowd gave huge heat, as they know if Punk locks in the submission, it may be over for the 2009 Royal Rumble winner, as Kennedy only just got out of it earlier and he has suffered some more punishment since then. Kennedy, also sensing big danger, quickly hits right elbows to the forehead of Punk, trying to get him to release Kennedy. Punk’s grip isn’t exactly broken but is weakened, as Kennedy spins out of the Urinagi, as he then twists Punk around, going for the Mic Check, only to be pushed into the ropes and then nailed with sick right Roundhouse kick to the face upon arrival by Punk (unlike earlier when Kennedy was able to dodge it)!

The crowd gives massive heat as Kennedy is out immediately upon impact, as Punk once again slyly smirks, as he lifts Kennedy up and viciously whips him into the furthest turnbuckle. Punk then lifts Kennedy up to the top rope, as Punk soon follows onto the second rope. Punk nails Kennedy with various right hands, as a groggy Kennedy is then forced into a Double Underhook once again on the top rope, as Punk looks for an Inverted Pepsi Plunge! The crowd gives huge heat, as Punk wastes no time and leaps off, but Kennedy held onto the rope, causing CM Punk’s unexposed and previously damaged knees to crash into the mat! The crowd gave a huge pop at Kennedy seemingly taking the advantage once again in the match, before Kennedy gets a standing position on the top rope. Kennedy subsequently leaps off the top rope, looking for the Kenton Bomb on a prone Punk, but Punk moves and Kennedy’s unprotected back smacks the mat! The crowd give heat at Punk’s quick recovery and Kennedy’s downfall, as both men are laid out on the mat after what has been an astonishing main event at Wrestlemania 25! The referee begins the 10 count, and after 5 counts, Punk begins to get up, as Kennedy then gets up at the count of 8, continuing the gruelling but very exciting contest.

Punk nails Kennedy with a right hand, causing the crowd to boo once Punk hit it, only for Kennedy to reply with a right hand of his own, making the fans cheer. This action was repeated several times, Kennedy getting the advantage after blocking a right hand of Punk’s and nail him with consecutive punches. Kennedy seemingly took the advantage in the match again, only for Punk to hit Kennedy with another cheap thumb to the eye, causing Kennedy to be temporarily blinded. The referee questioned Punk for his underhanded antics again, but it is obvious what Punk’s objective was, getting the advantage back in the match. Kennedy, still partially blinded, stumbled around, right into Punk, who lifts him up into a Standing Fireman’s Carry, as Punk then nails the Go To Sleep! The crowd erupts in heat, as Punk climbs over for the cover on Kennedy. 1...2...KICKOUT FROM KENNEDY!! The crowd erupt as Punk is shocked at Kennedy kicking out at one of finishing moves, as he wastes no time in lifting Kennedy up and getting him in a Double Underhook once again, but Kennedy saw this coming, as he got Punk this time in a Standing Fireman’s Carry, and this time he connected with the Steamroller (Standing Green Bay Plunge)!

The crowd once again erupts, but after the damage that Kennedy has endured in this match, he cannot capitalize, as he also collapsed on the mat due to fatigue. Kennedy begins to crawl towards a still unconscious Punk, as Kennedy then dramatically raises his arm before dropping over Punk’s sternum, as the referee once again drops to his knees and makes the cover! 1...2...PUNK GETS A FOOT ON THE BOTTOM ROPE! The crowd are absolutely livid as Kennedy holds his head, unsure of what to do next to put the WWE Champion away. Kennedy then lifts the champion up, but Punk hits Kennedy with a spin kick to the gut, as he follows with a Face Buster! The crowd once again gives heat for Punk, as he drags Kennedy closer to the corner, which leads to Punk climbing up to the top rope, his back facing Kennedy (in position to give his challenger Kennedy a Moonsault). Kennedy, however, recovers quickly from the Face Buster, as he run to the ropes and hits them, which causes Punk to crotch himself on the top rope! The crowd gives a big pop, but Kennedy isn’t finished, as he grabs Punk’s head, and nails him with a Neckbreaker off the top rope!

The crowd gives a huge pop for Kennedy once again, who rests on the ropes so he can recover from the damage endured throughout this match. Punk is beginning to stir, getting to his hands and knees in an attempt to get back to his feet, only for Kennedy to charge at Punk and roll through, getting Punk in a Schoolboy Rollup! 1...2...KICKOUT FROM PUNK ONCE AGAIN! The crowd can’t believe Punk’s resiliency, who shows that he won’t drop the WWE Title that he has held for six months without a fight. Kennedy shakes his head once again as he lifts the champ up, before going for the second Steamroller, only for Punk to slip off of Kennedy’s shoulders and hit him with a dropkick to the back. Kennedy stumbles into the corner, before he turns around so his back is resting up against the turnbuckle. Punk then charges, nailing Kennedy with a signature Shining Wizard, this time connecting unlike earlier in the match when Kennedy managed to dodge and Punk blasted his knees against the unforgiving turnbuckle! The crowd gave big heat, as Punk then got Kennedy in a headlock, as he then charges out of the corner, nailing Kennedy with a Bulldog!

The crowd gives huge heat as Punk raises his arms in the cockily and almost narcissistically, as Punk then prepares himself for Kennedy’s recovery. Kennedy begins to get up to his feet, only to be once again pulled up by Punk into a Standing Fireman’s Carry, looking for his second GTS in a matter of minutes, but this time, Kennedy does the same as Punk and slides off of his shoulders, as Punk turns around, right into a shocking Mic Check from the challenger out of absolutely no where! The crowd rise up to their feet as they absolutely erupt, as Kennedy this time wasting no time climbs over Punk and desperately hooks both legs of the WWE Champion CM Punk, hoping that this will be it. Referee Mike Chioda drops to his knees once again, as he begins to make the cover that could make Kennedy champion once more. 1...2...PUNK HAS NOT MOVED...3! The crowd get remain on their feet and give an even larger reaction than the previous following the Mic Check as Kennedy goes onto his knees with near tears in his eyes, becoming World Champion for the second time in his brilliant yet very short career!

Winner of this match and the NEW WWE Champion: Mr. Kennedy!
